abcindy Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Hey guys. I'm so indecisive about going to korea for blepharoplasy. Maybe I should just do it in the states . Also the clinic I've been thinking about going to "banobagi" they dont give full refunds once you make a deposit?? Lol what kinda crap is that . Guys I dont know if this is legit place to go for coameric surgery. What are your thoughts about it ???
lavendine Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 I can't comment on Banobagi as a clinic, but it's a fairly standard business practice to only be able to provide a partial refund if you cancel with super short notice. When a business reserves a spot for you, they are foregoing other clients during that time. If you cancel only 3 days in advance, they might not be able to fill that spot and will not be able to get paid for that day. Thus, businesses need a way to deter late cancelations and no-shows. You could always wait until you're sure about a clinic before paying a deposit.
mazikeen Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Don`t pay any deposit b4 you consult with the clinic & have found the right surgeon for you. I would recommend going to Seoul for 2-3 wks & book your surgery there after consulting with the clinic. They will definitely find a free slot for you. Getting a surgery slot is not a problem, finding the right surgeon is.
k-couture Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 Like what the others said this is pretty standard. If a clinic is blocking off a slot for you and you cancel last minute or not show up it means that's money down the drain. Its a business not a charity. A business always has to protect their own interests. Even with hotels they all have their own cancellation policies clearly listed on their listing before you book. Both the consumer and the service provider therefore has the responsibility to assume some risk during the reservation process. Also 500 is a fairly small amount for a deposit. Some clinics will ask anywhere from 10-50% deposit of the total surgical cost. Imagine for patients going to clinics like that who are doing big surgeries that cost 15k and up what the amount is like. I suggest if you are set on going there do not argue with them via messaging or e-mail over this. You're just going to notify them that you're a problematic patient. Yes, clinics pre screen their patients from the first point of contact. They're quite systematic in korea and will note down if a patient coming in is potentially problematic and will complain about anything and everything. Some clinics will deliberately quote higher prices or not give as much discount to either offset the perceived labour involved in serving such a patient or just to plainly drive the patient elsewhere cos sometimes its much better financially and more efficient in a business sense to not take on such a patient. IMO Its better to just not book your surgery, go down and consult first then decide. If there's no slot available at the last minute just fly down some other time. Its surgery, you really shouldnt rush it. You should also be consulting more than one clinic. Variety is good
abcindy Posted July 31, 2019 Author Posted July 31, 2019 Haha no .I wouldn't cancel 3 days before surgery . I'm talking about 3 weeks before. I'm saying that because I need medical leave for my job in order to take 10 days off and theclinic needs to fax over papers but if my job doesnt approve me those days , I would have to cancel the trip. .that's y I think its un fair to not get full deposit back. Thankfully I never gave them a deposit. I have decided to travel to CA for eye surgery.
amali9099 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 It's korean law to give back 100% if it's 3 days or more before surgery. Any closer than that, it's on you and there is a sliding scale based on how many days out are.
