So I did my rhino at UVOM (2 weeks post-op)

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone!

Since last year, I started to have this idea of having rhinoplasty, as I have always been very self-conscious and insecure of how my nose look. Since then, I have been lurking on both Purseforum and Kakaotalk groups to research for my rhinoplasty. I received a lot of useful information and feedback on clinics from both said platforms. So, I am writing this reviews to share my own experience at UVOM, I will try to keep everything concise and do inbox me if there is any question.

Due to time constraints, I could only spend 2 weeks in Korea, so I only decided to visit one clinic and go with them if the vibe is good. I have a slightly bulbous nose and my biggest concern is my nose bridge (very low). I almost thought that plastic surgery could even help with my nose bridge (I wanted a dramatic change) until one day I discovered a thread from JJ (https://beautyhacker.com/forums/topic/1004556-100-no-bs-review-opera-uvom-namu/) His result is exactly what I wanted and after hearing a few success stories from other people on Kakaotalk, I decided to consult UVOM and book an appointment.

Consultation
In the beginning, the online consultation was frustrating to be honest as they took a day or more just to reply you and often missed the questions, but the online consultation has since improved a lot. I went for my consultation on 9/07/2019, there was not much people, the clinic is small but comfortable and clean. I spent about 4.5 hours over there (consultation, simple body checking and ct scans) You can tell how much time they were willing to entertain me, the consultant Eunice and translators (Jinnie and JJ) were super duper sweet, doctor Lee also came in in the middle and consulted with me for about an hour. Everything was made clear on what they can do for me, what I can expect from them, the methods they use and the materials. I had a very good vibe with them so I booked the surgery for the next day. Unfortunately, there was some problem with my transaction so my my surgery date got delayed by 4 days, they were very patient and nice to me throughout the process as I used a very inconvenient banking process. (I am still a student and do not own credit card)

Surgery and Recovery
After having my payment settled, I did my surgery on 13/07/2019. I reached the clinic at 9 AM, did some final checking and had the last consultation with the doctor before going in for operation. I was really nervous since this is my first time going under general anesthesia, and Eunice (consultant) was there all the time trying to ease my tension making me feel less nervous. I woke up at around 5 PM (Dr. Lee spent quite a lot time doing the surgery). The clinic was already closed that time but Eunice stayed there until I woke up and made sure that I feel okay before letting me go. Me right after the surgery:

Waking up from anesthesia was pretty okay for me, I only felt a bit of unbalance and that feeling went away the next day. The recovery was very uncomfortable for me the first 2 day since I could not breathe through my nose and I could not sleep! However, there is no pain at all, my swelling was not severe as well. My nose could not stop bleeding but it did not flow out. Day 2 post op (the cotton is full of blood but no pain at all)

I got the cotton inside my nose removed on the 3th day and finally I could breathe through my nose god

During the recovery, I only took porridge or pumpkin soup for the first 2 days. After having the cotton inside the nose removed, I started to take solid food. Make sure to take smaller bites since you do not want to open your mouth too wide to affect your healing of scars. I also walked a ton during the recovery, it helped so much with my swelling. UVOM also provided me medications and eye pack.

On the f5th day, I got my stitches removed. It was a rush since I am leaving the same day.

Here's my nose before the surgery (very lose nose bridge and bulbous nose):

And here's the after (2 weeks post-op):

Overall, I had a good experience with UVOM and they offered a very attractive price. The consultant and translators are very sweet and patience. Dr. Lee was professional and experienced. I like the outcome but I wish it was more projected.:giggle: It is a big improvement from my old nose especially the tip. I did hump removal, bridge augmentation and tiplasty. I had 7 mm increase on the bridge and 5 mm increase on the tip.

Hi there ! Congratulations for your successful surgery. I am planning to go to korea this year I'm a bit scared but i will do this lol xD. I am looking for the best clinic in Charmfidence app. Last time, just like you I am using this purseforum and kakao talk groups for my research then in one of the post i found this App. It is so helpful because i am able to see infos of different PS clinic with real-time review and you can also get free consultation and request for quotation there. Btw, hope you get a smooth recovery and please update if something good or bad happened about the surgery.

Amazing results! Can you please specify whether an implant was used (and what type) or rib/septal cartilage?

Hi guys sorry for the late reply, I am not usually here
They used ePTPE (expanded polytetrafluoroethylene) for the implant.
I am fully recovered now, the result is really natural, my swelling subsided a lot after 3 weeks.
