dontevertell Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 hi! I want to fix my bite and as far as I know orthognathic surgery is exactly what I need. My orthodontist advised to go to Seoul, so I started searching and found out about this forum. I’ve noticed you guys here are quite familiar with plastic surgery in Korea, can anyone please tell how much would my surgery cost? I’d also really appreciate if you can suggest few good places, so I can compare. Thanks in advance!
scochend09 Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Ranges from 11 million KRW to just above 20 million KRW, depends on how complicated your surgery plan will be and also how much they decide to mark the price up by due to you being a foreigner. If a double jaw surgery will improve your appearance by a lot they might consider giving you a model discount, so do enquire about that too.
psanalyst Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Hey , I found out app called Charmfidence. You can raise a question and can receive the quotation on multiple providers. It looks like quora but you can upload your question anonymously so nobody can't see your pictures and profile. I saw that one of the users raised the question about it but the user did not seem to be required for the surgery. Many clinics suggested not to have a surgery and so no quotation info. The quotation should be around 10M~20M KRW. I think that you can share the photo on the app and see if you will be really required for surgery ( my friend told me that two jaw surgery is really painful...)and check out the quotes from multiple clinics, I got quotes on my nose as well. Hope it is helpful for you!
hkko1 Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Hi there, I just went through two jaw surgery in Korea, As for your question the prices varies depending on the procedures that you are after, You are looking at around 10M krw to 20M krw, but if you want more procedures such as advanced genioplasty, Vline, Zygoma reduction, the price will go up to 15-30M krw. As for surgery places, I would suggest really go to surgeon with an orthognathic background or oral/ maxillofacial background because they are the real specialist in that area and have received extensive training and residence programme. Here's a list of surgeon that I have consulted and they all have the orthognathic background The face dental E.U Zeah Dental EverM Nowme Oral Maxillofacial Surgery
gspshub Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 I also want to know, following this thread now.
cfcrestinpeace Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 I’ve got it in March this year, the original price was 22mln krw and +2 mln for facebow but I was also given a discount, so the price turned out very attractive
dontevertell Posted August 22, 2019 Author Posted August 22, 2019 and so... where did you get your surgery done?
cfcrestinpeace Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 No, no I didn’t. Dr. Oh said that my teeth were good enough, so my issue was only in long face. He only moved my maxilla forward and pushed a bit up and mandible was swung forward
dontevertell Posted August 23, 2019 Author Posted August 23, 2019 and for how long did you have to stay there in Seoul?
cfcrestinpeace Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 The two-jaw surgery I underwent is called a self-tie two-jaw which means that you can fix elastics yourself. So, basically, before the surgery they install special metallic kind of crews on some of your teeth. I do believe they remind braces. Those crews are supposed to be tied 24/7 with special elastics. Oh, and right after the surgery Dr. Oh also put a wafer which was fixing a new teeth position, had also wear it 24/7 for a month. So, when a surgery was over, Dr. Oh put that wafer and tied teeth with elastics. The next morning a nurse was supposed to change elastics, but it was so helly painful, so I waited when Dr. Oh comes to check up on me. He did it quite quickly. I stayed at Regen for 2 days and right before leaving, a nurse changed elastics again. The next time, when I came to change them was few days after, then another few days and the very last one was 3 weeks. That was the time, when I was taught to change them myself. So, the total time after surgery was 3 weeks + about 10 days before the surgery for facebow, I guess around 1 month. I could actually stay there less but my mom wanted me to finish all post-op treatment and confirm with Dr. Oh that my recovery was on track before we left Seoul
