snakeeye Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Hi dear PF peeps! I remember how stressful it was to find a good surgeon, to choose implants and decide on the size. So, let me go into a little about how the whole process went for me and I hope someone can find it informative or useful. 1. Finding a surgeon. It was quite a routine process, very banal and most time consuming. I can’t say anything special on this part. It was quite difficult for me to choose between 3 best surgeons and I did doubt a lot. I felt that BA was something that would definitely make me happier and at the same time I didn’t want to end up having the surgery twice. So, I scheduled my consultations with several doctors, visit each with my mom and chose the one we both liked the most. 2. Surgery. The night before the surgery they told me not to eat or drink anything for 8 hours prior to the surgery. In the morning, when I arrived to the hospital, my stomach was in knots and I deadly wanted to drink. The preparation went pretty fast. I was given an IV shot and was knocked out for about 3 hours. My breasts were pounding and I felt quite strong pressure pushing on it. I felt pretty sick when woke up and a nurse continuously repeated make a deep breath but it was really difficult for me to breath. 3. Initial recovery. The first night was pretty brutal. I was in pain and even caught myself on a thought that I regret about the surgery but I think I still was under drugs. The day after I woke up with pretty much same feelings. I barely slept because was sitting up and if someone made me laugh it brought me additional torture. After checking up with my surgeon next morning my mom picked me up and we went back to the hotel. Even though, it was really hard for me to get up and walk as every step resulted in pain, I made myself to stand up from the bed at least every 2 hours and walk 10 mins. It was important as it helped to implants to drop to the right position. Around 4 days after I finally started to feel a little more like myself and by week 2 I felt way better. I’m now only few months postop and my breasts are still pretty swollen but I think implants dropped enough and the result looks amazing. I think I have to be honest with anyone who’s planning on BA. The first week would be the worst and you may probably regret but I still think that it definitely worth it! The implants type and size I chose are perfect. I think getting BA was a life changer for me and I finally feel more confidence in my body.
