shalala05 Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Hello there! I have an inward chin and I want to do something to make it look longer. Will chin surgery (not implant) work without any reduction? Because I heard about chin reduction but I don't want it as my chin is short already.
rain_22 Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Hi I am also looking for information on chin surgery/implants. Do you have any updates?
fixedsister Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Hi. Perhaps I can help maybe... My best friend also has a short inward chin. Her concern was the side profile. The doctor suggested her 2 different procedures. 1) genioplasty- cut and move chin forward 2) implant She chose implant because it's less invasive and can be taken out if not correct size or style. It turned out well and she looks very natural. I touched her chin lol and it feels normal. No loss in sensation, healing was quick and very minimal swelling but I think that depends on individual... I literally saw her next day after surgery and she looks same lol. No swelling, just a chin bandage haha. Oh yea, she paid around 1.5k-2kUS for it... Don't remember what clinic. Was a local Korean clinic though
rain_22 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Did she get silicone implants? Do you mind asking her the size of the implants? Thankyou so much for your help
fixedsister Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Yes it was silicone. I believe was small size because she naturally has a very small face already. (It's so small that any face slimming filter on camera apps makes her look like an alien haha) I think the best way is to go to consultation and see what's best for you~
lykos Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 You can slide the chin to any direction with genioplasty, so making it vertically and horizontally longer both works, too.
chanelsaint Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 If your chin is really short already, they can do the genioplasty, but that will only bring your chin forward so much, if they try to bring it forward too much and your skin isn't thick, you will feel that gap area from the chin advancement. It sounds like your chin is super short already so perhaps a small chin implant would work, you might not be happy with the level of advancement you get from just the genioplasty alone, you should go one your consults and keep your options open; if you don't have a good feeling about the genioplasty, you can always get the chin implant and it's reversible if you don't like it xo
