Review: Ruby Plastic Surgery- Eyelids

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I found out about purseblog about a year ago when I was researching places to get my double eyelids done in South Korea. I got the non-incisional method with ptosis correction (no sleepy/tired looking lids, which were sometimes mistaken as RBF)

First, a little background: I am Korean by birth but I’ve lived in America pretty much since I was a little kid. So I did use translation services and coordinated everything through the English speaking consultant. Also, my main purpose for travel was to visit Korea, and plastic surgery was “secondary,” as in it was not the main purpose of my trip this time.

Consultation
I set up my appointment time months in advance via Kakaotalk. I liked the Consultant because she was friendly and very detailed with her answers. You know how sometimes you message someone like 6 questions and they only answer 1 in their reply? It was not like that at all with Ruby. All my questions were answered and they were answered promptly, professionally, and with enough detail. I thought their price was reasonable too, so I sent a deposit because I already felt that I could trust them. Since I did not want to spend a whole day in Korea just going to consultations, I did all of that back home through Kakao. Pretty much all the major plastic surgeries seem to have this option.

Day of:
The office is incredibly easy to find and like a 3 minute walk from the subway station. I filled out my paperwork in their incredibly clean and shiny reception area. I did not wait long before I was taking B&A photos, had 1 more short consult to make sure we were on the same page, and in less than 30min from the time I walked in the Dr was drawing the line on my eyelid. No endless waits in the lobby! Yay!

Procedure:
I was a little nervous but the nurse noticed right away and calmed me down by explaining each step of the process. When I was gonna fall asleep, that I was going to come to during the surgery and that’s normal (all you have to do is open and close your eyes when told), and it went exactly as how she described so that really helped me stay calm because I knew and expected what was going on. The most “painful” part was getting the IV in. After it’s done, a nurse escorts you to a room where an ice patch is put over you and you just rest until you’re comfortable enough to leave. I stayed maybe 30 minutes.

Aftercare:
Really simple and they provide you with things you need. I did need to pick up a prescription but it’s in the same building and didn’t cost that much. But an eye mask for icing/heating purposes is included too, which came in handy. As long as you are comfortable you can walk around freely, so I was able to still have a full day of fun after the procedure because it is so non invasive.

Results:
It’s been 11 days (I think) since my procedure and I quite like my results! My monolids used to make me feel quite self conscious smiling because my eyes would disappear. I only wore eyeliner on the corner of my eyes and now I feel like the world is my oyster when it comes to makeup looks! My eyelashes don’t get pushed under anymore either. It may be small but I feel like it has already made a big difference for me.

So that’s about it! I hope this helps someone!

Hahah full disclaimer I’ve tattooed ~35% of my body. But I couldn’t feel the stitch removal. I didn’t realize they were taking it out. So I would have to say 0. Getting the IV put in was about a 2.
