ellegiselle7 Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 Hey guys,i just have one simple question.Does double jaw and v-line surgery make your face smaller?ive noticed that in many before and afters people's faces look smaller but i don't understand how that is possible.i know that it may be Photoshop but there are also reputable clinics like tfd with such photos.any opinions on that?thank you!
lykos Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 v-line surgery reduces the jaw bone so you can probably guess why it looks smaller. Double jaw surgery can make the face smaller, if the midface is shortened. Pieces of bone are taken out above the teeth of the upper jaw and the jaw is fixated in a higher position. There does not have to be vertical movement with double jaw surgery though. It is done for gummy smiles when a lot of your upper teeth show when your mouth is open with the upper lip relaxed. Also, the genioplasty that most of the time comes along with these surgeries can be reductive.
