european95xx_ Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Hello everyone! I have been on this forum for a while now and I learned so many things about Korean plastic surgery and the clinics there. Thanks to you guys I know what clinics to avoid, what clinics are the best etc. Feel free to skip this part if you feel like it's unnecessary! First let me tell you a "bit" about me. Since puberty I've been struggling with my face. Face shape to be exact. It just looked so wrong! When I was a child I was very pretty, even did child modeling, but as years went by my face started changing FOR WORSE. It's like my jaw had a mind of its own and formed into a weird square shape. Chin got longer, mid face got longer. Too long! Face got weird and "box-y" looking. I started being told I was ugly by both boys and girls. I don't want to go back to those bad times and make it look like I'm only getting surgery because of other people which is false. It is mostly for me, but of course if I look great other people will most likely acknowledge it. After high school things started to get better for me. I became prettier. I started receiving compliments, got asked out on dates, guys started to stop me in the streets to ask for my number, I started experimenting with makeup and clothing more and eventually I got a boyfriend and had a baby 6 months ago. You guys are probably thinking now, well why are you still here then? Well, I did change for the better, but obviously I cannot change every single thing naturally and miraculously look like a completely different person after school. I am still very self conscious and get told from time to time how my face is long, not long ago I was also told my face shape resembles one of a horse..I still avoid looking myself in the mirror and taking selfies or having my pictures taking. Even my boyfriend is upset because of this. Not to mention my face is now even more narrow because I recently had a baby and looking after her with my family living miles away is pretty hard. Especially when my bf is working. I lost weight and it shows the most on my face. I always had a very thin face so if I lose weight it looks even thinner and longer which is awful! Although I got better looking and more confident I am still not where I want to be. I want to be prettier and conventionally good looking! I know I might sound vain by saying this but hey, this is a plastic surgery forum. I cannot lie you guys lol. I know what I want and I also know that plastic surgeon are also humans who make mistakes and aren't miracle workers! I am aware of it all! I even had therapy at the beginning of this year just to see if my mindset about my appearance and surgery is "healthy". Although I didn't go into detail with my therapist about what I want I did roughly mention that I am unhappy with my face shape. She thought my face was nice and "lovely", but I was pregnant then so I did look prettier. Even though I only gained 5 kilos during my entire pregnancy my face looked a bit fuller and it looked nicer in my opinion. I apologise for rambling lol. Let's go straight to my GOALS: shorter face with a shorter lower and mid part of the face. Shorter jaws and chin and a V line. As dramatic as possible, meaning, as dramatic as long it's safe! First I thought I should have V line and grafting and later rhino, but this year I decided that I definitely need two jaw if I want my mid face shorter. I also have a narrow face like I already stated and I'm afraid that V line alone won't solve all my "issues". While I considered fat grafting with V line I figured it might not be worth it because I have an insanely fast metabolism and I feel like it would only be a waste of time and money. I have a baby now so I can't just fly to Korea whenever I feel like it. I want something permanent. Perhaps in the future I will consider fat grafting, but right now I just want to have two jaw and V line. Some clinics told me to just have V line, some to have two jaw.. I contacted many clinics. DARPS, Gng, View, JK, JW, REGEN, The face dental.. My first choice was View, but after my second consultation with them I felt like they didn't really listen to what I wanted. I kept saying that my mid face is also long and that I had a fear that V line also won't change my face much, but they kept telling me that they mostly do two jaw if you have a severe bite problem. On their website however, it says that you can have two jaw if you have a long face and I do have a long face. I still think they are a great clinic though and I like the results on their website. Sadly I just wasn't impressed by them during the second consultation. With lots of research and thinking I finally made a decision to go with The Face Dental. So far I have only had an online consultation with the clinic, with Dr. Lee the Head surgeon to be exact (for those who don't know, he is the only surgeon and he owns the clinic First I e mailed the clinic, him, then I went on Facebook and chatted with Dr Lee. I have to say that talking to him felt like talking to a friend. He gives off such warm and friendly vibes that I never knew I was gonna get from a surgeon. He is very down to Earth and doesn't promise anything because which is fair from him, because who wants a surgeon who promises you rainbows and unicorns and in the end you get less than that. You just end up getting disappointed. He definitely sounds like someone who knows what they are talking about. His English is good and I understand him well. He is also very friendly and nice and just gives off great vibes! I love the results on his website, his prices are very reasonable and much cheaper than the ones from other clinics, he said he can do both natural and dramatic results, but it all depends on your scan and nerve endings etc. I also showed him reference photos and he was honest and said that he will give his best. Because my face is narrow he didn't mention a zygoma reduction, but I did ask out of curiosity. He said that yes I do need it if I want to look more similar like the people on the pictures and he also said that my cheekbones are "irregular". I guess he meant to say that they protrude a bit, but to me it's very minimal and my face already lacks in width so I just told him that perhaps next time. To that he responded that my opinion matters the most after all. I even shared that I was called a horse face once and told him that I hope he can help me. To that he just said that he can help me and that I shouldn't worry too much! That was enough for me to tell him that I want to have surgery with him. I will go to Korea next year, not exactly sure when, but I told Dr. Lee that I will contact him when I know more. I feel relieved I finally chose a clinic and found a surgeon who I already trust. The only things that are gonna be tricky for me are the transport to the clinic and back and finding the right accommodation, but I plan to write a post about that because I will need some help from you guys! From now I will post all updates about my journey with The Face Dental here.
