chanelsaint
So, I’ve been looking at VIP for a while but couldn’t find any reviews from real ppl who weren’t given promotions or unhappy people, so I decided to take schedule surgery and make the trip to Korea. I have to tell you, I’m already regretting it and I have not even been to the clinic yet- I booked with Dani (the VIP associate) and apparently they waited until I got here at 5 AM in the morning to reveal that the VIP apartment isn’t available- I have no other accommodations nor did I budget for that, there are no check ins available at Seoul hotels until later in the afternoon, it’s raining outside, I’m fatigued from the 15 hour flight, this is literally a nightmare and I’m unsure if I will be going through with surgery here. Right now I just want my deposit back and to find a different facility to do my surgeries because this is too unprofessional; I’ve had surgeries before with unprofessional practices but this is by far the worst experience ever. I’ll update later but most likely not going through with the surgery with VIP at this point because of the high level of unprofessionalism and red flags, one of my friends canceled her surgery with them and I think perhaps I should do the same- I’m disgusted that I came all of the way out here and Dani has still not even given a consultation time to discuss my surgeries, only the day. I was quoted 15,000 for a revision rhinoplasty, 6000 for genioplasty, 3500 for mid face, and 3000 for lip lift. That’s too high for such poor treatment. I’ll update later. chanelsaint
Update: Since the vip apartment was “full”, the driver told me that VIP made a reservation at Sunshine hotel for me- if VIP “made a reservation” for me, then why did the front desk ask to hold my credit card? I understand that’s a standard practice but VIPS business cc should be on file, not mines. The other issue is that the hotel is like a motel 6 (USA ppl know exactly what I mean) I’ll post pix of it in my next update. 1. They should’ve notified me RIGHT AWAY there was no space available during my travel dates instead of waiting until after I landed here. 2. This is a hotel I would’ve never chosen for myself; it’s a 3 star establishment at best and the bed linens don’t even look clean, the room is not clean, it STINKS, bed is uncomfortable, this is an older hotel so of course it’s going to look a bit dingier than newer hotels, but this is not somewhere they should’ve booked for a potential patient. This trip went downhill very quickly and I’m totally repulsed for finding myself in this situation in such poor conditions. I’m making reservations for myself elsewhere somewhere nicer and cleaner after I get in touch with VIP- who magically seemed to disappear (online on WhatsApp one moment, failing to respond the next- although I know whomever is in charge of their WhatsApp saw my messages). blasian
I am so sorry to hear about your experience! This is not how to treat a patient that will likely spend a small fortune in their clinic. I am glad you've noted your experience. I have been on the fence about VIP for a while, and this review makes me think perhaps I should stay here in the US especially for the price they are charging. $15,000 for a revision rhinoplasty is competitive with what is being charged in nonmetropolitan cities in The United States. queendrew5
Oh my god, It's awful! I'm really sorry to hear that!! what on earth the revision costs 15,000? That's the price I've never heard.
banana-cream-pie
i'm so sorry about your experience as well, but may I ask what kind of material they were going to use for the 15,000 dollars rhinoplasty...? I'm also curious if they provide free accomodation for the potential patients(consult only patient).
choialice168
? what kind of clinic quotes rhino revision for 15,000 usd? I was quoted for 4,500 USD at girin.
chanelsaint
Update: Chloe, the patient coordinator tried to smooth things over and she’s very kind, but I cancelled my surgery at VIP- the red flags plus the doctor wanting to overproject my nose turned me off too much. She said she will refund my surgery deposit & she worked out the accommodations issue. The rhinoplasty my quote was $15,000 because it’s a revision and I had rib on my primary rhinoplasty- I think the price is fine because of his skill level, but unfortunately my aesthetics don’t match with his. If I did go with VIP it would only be for genioplasty and midface. I hate that I had to come all the way out here just to cancel the surgery be sure I was so excited for it, but while I’m here I’ll be consulting with other clinics . chanelsaint
It’s for rib rhinoplasty and I think you have to pay the deposit 30 days ahead of time to have a chance at getting free accommodation
chanelsaint
Omg speaking of Girin, how did you get in touch with them and how long did it take them to answer? I kakaotalked them, no answer yet. Ty xo
mazikeen
I think you should try and get an airbnb & go for some consultations b4 deciding on anything. Also keep an eye on your credit card records to make sure VIP don`t charge you for some unnecessary expenses like the hotel. Girin is known for facial contour but never heard about rhinoplasty so please be careful. Dr. Chang at Hanabi is an ENT doctor and surgeon, you could consult with. My advise is only consult and book a surgery for next year. Don`t rush things.
mazikeen
Revision with rib cost around that much.
mazikeen
Pls don`t have that done. Results are unnatural and look ridiculous. A good surgeon will be able to give you a nice projection which will balance out the midface w/out a midface augmentation. For Genioplasty, try Dr. Lee at the Face Dental, this is actually his speciality and you will def not pay 6000 for the procedure.
chanelsaint
I was looking for photos/videos of someone who actually had midface done smiling/laughing etc... the images I see of those who’ve had it done just look like they had fc, but... I did see one girl from an angle (while doing what I presume was smiling or trying to) and she looked like Cindy Lou who ( from the grinch who stole Christmas). I saw some of your posts about your dissatisfaction- can you share any photos privately? (And in response to your previous posts, I’ve been on other consults and will have surgery on this trip if I can get a booking date with my top choices, none of which involve midface- I think I can have nice results without it; I don’t want it affecting my smile and my midface really isn’t that bad as it is). I think Dr. Lee is a VERY excellent and highly skilled surgeon, just not for me because my aesthetic taste is too different from his; with a difference so grand- I know that I wouldn’t be happy with the result of the rhinoplasty, I think some people went through the surgery knowing they had a different aesthetic- but perhaps just did it because they were already in Korea. He does nice noses but the result would not have looked good on me (to me, because I’m so particular & will not deviate from my own aesthetic no matter how much I like the surgeon, and I’m particular about any and all surgeries I’ve had or will have lol). His patient coordinator Chloe’s nose is reallllly super cute because Dr Lee is the one who did it, and her nose is perhaps even the best rhinoplasty I’ve seen in person in Korea so far but she told me she had a small nose to begin with. I think that recognizing what skin, tissues, and size of nose you have to begin with will help with setting achievable goals. Some people end up unhappy because they refuse to take responsibility for not choosing a doctor who aligned with their goals; the surgeons show us what they’re capable of plainly and clearly and they show us their aesthetic, we are the ones responsible for deciding if that fits within our own goals and integrity of our nasal/facial structures. I feel that Dr Lee does exactly what he says he’s going to do. A doctor showing you what’s achievable in their aesthetic and then botching or not following through on the surgery plan is a different thing than just being unhappy with how the result looks on you after it’s all said and done. I said all that to say- I prefer neither the latter or the former and that’s why I didn’t do the surgery after recognizing and accepting how profound our differences were- and I’m ok with that. I’m very curious about your nose and outcomes if you want to share pix or talk privately I would love to! Xo
choialice168
I kakaotalked them too! It took for few hours for them to contact me back. Maybe because it's busy season for plastic surgeries
banana-cream-pie
so even if you don't decide to proceed with the surgery there, they won't charge for the accomodation?
