Surgery and Consultation at Namu!

Recommended Posts

They still have brow lift listed on their site. (Just FYI, not to argue.)

I was thinking about them for eyes, but I'm not sure. I want huge, dolly eyes (and a revision) but have no idea who actually does those.

Hi,
I honestly can’t tell you in too much detail since I myself didn’t really notice the recovery of my forehead too much? Because I got so many surgeries all at once, the forehead one was the least of my concerns.
During the time I was in Korea recovering, I never really noticed my forehead apart from the scars and the top bit being numb. Both of which I was told will head eventually. Obviously there will still be scarring, but most surgeries will leave scarring which will fade over time.
As for how many cm, I didn’t really think about it since I had told him I wanted a good forehead to head ratio which I obviously didn’t have before. From the before and after pictures though, I would say around 1 cm, but I was told the forehead reduction is something he is really good at, so he should be able to remove much more.

I didn’t even know they had it on their website! Thank you for correcting me haha
My friend who I obviously won’t name for privacy reasons, got her eyes done with the head surgeon there. She now has dolly eyes that look so good!! I’m personally not satisfied with my eyes, but it was a non incisional revision, so I know next time where I want them to cut. I had mine done with a different doc though

Hi, congrats on ur surgery!! I am considering namu too since I want vline+rhino+eyes done.
May I ask how long it took for you to get sensation on your cheeks after the bone contouring? 3 weeks? 4 weeks? etc? thank you. I want to do vline but I am afraid of the nerve damage

awesome! I'm post operation now myself btw and still recovering. Think I might as well start a thread since it's cold and I got the time.

Oh no girl, check them out they're really good. and don't read into the drama & gossip without vetting the docs with a face-to-face consult. it's best to consult before you rule out a place. reviews help, but you have to look at things in aggregate. The vast majority of people's experiences I came across on the forum for Namu were pretty positive. so a random negative review that's an outlier and out-of-the-blue sounds more like a self-interest hidden agenda / hit job than an accurate accounting to share with the community. And when i read that one bad review, the first thing that jumped out at me it was it wasn't even written by the patient, but their boyfriend, which is kinda odd.

My experience with them was great and I'm still in the recovery process, but I would have missed out if i ruled them out because of that. definitely worth consulting at the very least.

Hi Lia,
Thank you!
I have not yet gotten all sensation on my cheekbones back. Everyday, I feel like it is slowly coming back, just like my scalp.
I read online that it was supposed to come back within 1 month or something, but I’m pretty sure it depends on each person.
To be honest, every surgery you do has potential for nerve damage, even des, but for each person, it depends on if they want the surgery enough to risk it. Rather than nerve damage, I am actually more scared that my skin will sag after v line since your skin no longer has anything to hold onto after the outer layer of the bone is shaved off with the bone itself.
I have heard that most people who do v line surgery has to go back to do thread lifting or facelift. Though, my friend who had hers done, where they just removed the muscle, looked really nice, and her skin isn’t sagging but there isn’t a dramatic difference like within bone shaving.
Namu’s new surgeon for nose is absolutely fantastic and I would def recommend him, and the head doc for eyes (friend got eyes done there with him and she looks nice)
For v line, I would suggest you do your research before so you know what you’re getting into. I know it’s easier to get everything done at once (and cheaper and it’s exactly what I did so I can’t say much lol) but if you’re really worried about nerve damage, maybe search up a specialist for v line instead so you can get it separately
Good luck with whatever you choose!!

That’s awesome! Hope you have a smooth recovery and like your results? Which place did you go to? What did you get done if you don’t mind my asking?
Also, I completely agree! I feel like namu has a bad rep just because of one or two bad reviews. Although I feel bad for the people, I don’t find it fair to judge them solely based on that one bad thing.
Although my price quote was less because of the photos and review I offered, I wouldn’t still be defending them if I was unhappy with my results right now. I would have just written one review and left it at that.
When I went into namu, there were ALWAYS people there waiting for consultation or surgery and such. Although they are a skin clinic as well as surgery, I knew the people there were not for skin since they have a completely separate floor for that. Lots of mixed people there, Korean, Chinese and Japanese, so you could tell they had a good rep from word of mouth at least

I think most people would have a bad reaction to anaesthetic but mine was stronger since my immune system was down, which was why I threw up. I remember the first time I got surgery and after waking up, I still felt sick, but just not enough for my to actually not being able to control throwing up since it makes your face swell more and takes longer to deswell after that

I just asked her for the pictures since I told her I wanted to post the before photos on here, so she sent them to me. She didn’t ask for any payment though. It’s not as if I could use those pictures for anything anyway XD

  • 2 months later...
Last before and after pics for my NAMU surgery review. I know I said around 6 months, but I feel like my facial features have swelled down enough for a ‘Final’ after picture XD
The one with the water bottle is my current face (with some bits retouched because of bad acne but actual feature haven’t been touched) the other two are professionally taken, one is before and one is around 2 weeks after surgery. The last one is just a front view of everything. I am also planning on getting my eyes redone since I really like my friends double eyelid results she got with the head doc (she opted for bigger double eyelids than mine) so I won’t be posting my eyes. I might also get a bit more canthoplasty done since I want my eyes to be closer together.
I am very happy with my final result, especially when I compare my before and after pictures. Sometimes people need to take a lot of before pictures to really see the difference after their surgery. You see your face everyday as it is healing so when everything has swelled down, you might not notice nor remember what your face looked like before so you may think nothing has changed which was the situation for me. But after I compared my before and after pictures, along with a lot of compliments from friends and family, I truly realised the huge difference and I’m so happy with the results and can’t wait to go back to get my eyes redone!
thanks for reading and stay safe everyone!
