Help, depression and surgery options

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I'm a 26 years old girl suffering from depression, I have chronic insomnia (non reparatrive sleep) since 5 year ago. Unfortunately no medicine can help me (we tried everything with the doctors) and now I have hollows under eyes my skin is so dry and I look so much older than my age. I'm now very depressed to the point I can't live my live and loosing my best years bedridden. Please can you help me decide what plastic surgery should I do? Can you raccomend me a plastic surgeon?

Hope you've exhausted natural options before going for plastic surgery. As you probably know, exercise and diet can help with your depression and skin and maybe your sleep deprivation and undereye hollows, too. If you're bedridden, your body can't do what it would normally do on account of poor circulation. Don't know if this helps, but eating almonds and olive oil dressing, using eye cream and applying oil on my skin whilst it's still wet after a shower has remedied my dry skin.

Hi, just came across your post... I had a similar situation, first I got chronic insomnia and then depression not so long after that, due to being so attached to how "beautiful" I used to look (I used to have a very pretty face, then boom, insomnia, dark circles, sagging skin, gaunt, old-looking face all at once!!!). Both of these problems, insomnia and depression do cause a vicious cycle which affects the immune system, and therefore my overall look (especially my skin, my eyes and around eyes area) has started getting worse and worse by days. I've tried everything under the sun, and my insomnia is still here. I slowly realized it's something out of my control, to be able to sleep normally again.

I'm also thinking of PS to help with this (I'm going to Korea this Feb for stem cell fat graft) but my suggestion is that you need to tackle the problem from its root before doing anything else...

We will all look old and ugly at some point, that's the law of impermanence (lol, I'm a Buddhist so I really sound like one here), no matter how many times we go under the knife. To learn how to live happily from the inside regardless of external conditions (like looking good, being able to sleep, having good career, having good family, ect.) is much more important. I know it's easier said than done, but I once went through a terrible time (suicidal depression) so I totally know how it feels. Now I still have insomnia, and I still look terrible, but my depression is not that severe anymore, and I actually enjoy my life much more than before. May be take a step back and invest in yourself first, learn how to live mindfully in every moment, then it still won't be too late to invest in some plastic surgery later? That way you will feel much more grounded. That way you won't have to be dependent (again) on another external condition to be able to feel good about yourself

Anyway, I started a thread regarding undereye fat repositioning, you can visit if you wish. Depression is not understandable for most people, and I want to give you a big hug. Be strong!
