princess-doll Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 hi i will be visiting seoul in october for a fat graft, is anyone else going next month? also does anyone know the best clinic for fat graft? both bk and oz told me that fat graft is temporary and only lasts 1year. when i pressed them they admitted that permanency depends on the doctor's technique. bk is more expensive. are they the best? oz keeps telling me to get fillers instead. has anyone been to these or any other good clinics for this procedure? thank you♥

lanlan3 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Just here to share one of my experience with oz clinic, long story short, i went there because it's the cheapest i could find. Did jaw & chin. Jaw end up super asymmetrical, but lucky part is he didnt shave a lot, so i still can go for revision if i want, can always shave more, but cant reverse if too much is shaved. chin too, it was terrible, when i go back to the hotel i could rock and implant, it was SO BADLY DONE, like the implant didnt even sit properly. I told him that & he immediately help me to change. Now the 2nd time, it's not so bad because it's goretex and it's less obvious but still asymmetrical. Anyway after the swell settled, i told him that my jawline is super asymmetrical, it's super obvious, i went back to korea and consult him again. he just shrug his shoulders and say he cant do anything about it. W H A T ?!

k-couture Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 yeh when i went there for my consult in 2014 amongst several issues i had with the surgeon, one of them is that he insisted a 3d facial ct was not necessary. This is a red flag. Now the reason why he said it wasn't necessary is simply to cut costs. He doesnt want to pay for a costly 3d ct machine. Those machines range from 175-400k depending what model and brand you purchase, whether its brand new or second hand etc. And because Oz is a one man clinic he does things on a budget, Hence why there is n in house anaesthesiologist either. These are some of the problems with the small clinics. Another major one is that one surgeon should be not doing all sorts of different procedures which have a medical speciality eg: facial contouring, face lift are two seperate specialities which should be performed by two separate specialists who are constantly honing their skills in that discipline. Not a jack of all trades master of none. Addtionally, the 3d ct scan is of the utmost importance for a surgeon because: a) you need to see the facial bones first before even considering whether cutting into the patient is necessary. This is due to the diagnosis of whether the issue is related to the bone, to the soft tissue or to the muscle or a combination of these factors. b) if you go into the patient before seeing the CT scan you cannot actually determine properly where the asymmetry is (if any) because the way the surgery is performed is through an intraoral excision, its not like open rhinoplasty where once you make the incision the entire structure is visible. Not to mention the facial bones (cheek and jaw) are on seperate sides of the face so doing a comparison during surgery isnt accurate. The surgeon really requires the CT scan for a better guesstimate of the degree to correct
denyagan Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 Exactly, this is a very intelligent response. a 3D cat scan is of a paramount importance to determine if the asymmetry or bulkiness are caused by bones or muscles. In addition to that, when after my surgery I started seeing sagging and skin pulling my eyes down and also huge gaps, I told him I wanted to do a cat scan on my own and pay for it, and he tried to talk me out of it saying a cat scan is useless, that it causes cancer and that he is the number 1 surgeon in Korea for cheekbone surgery. I should have known better. Stay away! But, yes, I can't stress the importance of a cat scan enough.
