If you're still around, OP, I can ask my mom about the guy who did her nose job (it was downriver though, I think--Indian guy). She has an Eastern European nose and also had a deviated septum. If you're looking for Asian-specialized nose jobs though, I'm not sure how experienced my mom's guy is.

My friend did her rhinoplasty with Dr. Kimberly Lee in Beverly Hills, who is Korean, and had a fantastic result! It was better than having it done in Korea because it was easy for her to go for her after surgery check ups and know that Dr. Lee was around for her if she had any problems.

I thought I would share my rhinoplasty experience as well since I really appreciated other people sharing their experiences when I was deciding whether or not to have it done and with which surgeon.

After reading MANY forums and experiences of rhinoplasty patients, I decided to go with Dr. Jung at Shimmian Clinic. At first, his email responses were slow but he has many patients and a limited staff who spoke English at the time. Now he has a specialized crew just for patients from overseas.

I had my procedure done along with lower blepheroplasty (to remove eye bags) in August 2010. I traveled alone to Seoul and was a little nervous at first. But the staff was very nice and gentle and spoke enough English to get by. Dr. Jung also speaks good english and my consultation went well. There was very little pain involved with the surgery.

I paid $4500 USD for rhinoplasty and $750 for my lower bleph (usually $1500 but got it half off since I was getting rhinoplasty done). I am extremely happy with the results and how natural it looks. My nose is a lot higher and my nostrils are narrower but no one new can tell that I've had rhinoplasty done. Only my family can since they noticed how much higher and narrower my nose was.

I am so glad I went with Dr. Jung in South Korea instead of a surgeon in Canada or the US. I think that an asian doctor understands the asian nose a lot more. And Dr. Jung has worked on so many asian patients and has had great success.

Rhinoplasty was a huge step for me, it is my first and only cosmetic procedure (other than bleph). I know it's a bit more expensive than other clinics in Asia but my face is very important to me and I wanted it done right more than anything. I've heard of too many scary stories of numerous revisions and dissatisfaction.

I wired 75% of payment directly to the hospital and paid the rest by credit card. That way, I save on the ten percent charges. The rest of the 25% I paid has no ten percent extras.

Heya, just had my rhinoplasty here in Seoul, South Korea and love the results. It'll be exactly a week since surgery tomorrow and the results already look amazing. I'm ecstatic with the results and will post before and after pics when I return home to the states this week. I did consults with plastic surgeons in Beverly Hills, CA...some of the best in 90210; however, I didn't get the impression that they had the same volume of experience specifically doing asian rhinoplasty as doctors on this side of the Pacific Ocean.

I elected to have the surgery done at the Banobagi Plastic Surgery and Beauty Center. The center rivals the best of the best. While their website doesn't offer an option for English translation, you can cut and paste the hyperlinks into Google Translator and get a good amount of information. My surgeon, Dr. Lee and his assistant Sunny Kim both speak fluent English. Sunny, not only arranged my consultation appointment but was by my side making sure everything went smoothly. She even held my hand when the nurse came in to set up the IV drip on the day of surgery. Dr. Lee was also with me every visit. On the day of surgery, he took the time to review the surgery plan again and reassure me and calm nerves. He checked in on the pre-op prep process and then came in to chat and help me relax before I was sedated. I think he heard my heart monitor chirping away from nerves and wanted to help me relax. He was there when I woke up and kindly asked me what I had been dreaming about.

Dr. Lee is an outstanding surgeon and he is warm and compassionate. I felt instantly comfortable with him during the initial consultation. He paid special attention to my concerns and answered each question thoughtfully. He went over the method of surgery and surgical plan with me several times and had his assistants explain the process a couple extra times just to make sure our communication and expectations were in harmony. Banobagi and Dr. Lee have been featured in a lot of media and you can see the reviews his patients blog about him on the website. What's really cool is a lot of his patients blog their results often from day of surgery to months after, so you can see the healing process in the stages you will be experiencing. You'll also see how much his patients love him and the team there. Personally, I found the patient reviews and large portfolio of before and after pictures more important than the website being in English. Had the doctor not understood English, that may have changed my decision because it's important that things not get lost in translation.

Ps. When you elect to have surgery there, the center can arrange discounted accommodations for your stay. The doctor asks his patients to come to atleast 3 follow ups before leaving the country. The last follow up is to remove stitches on day following surgery. It's also worth mentioning that they will give you a post-op kit that includes everything from gel ice packs, peroxide, antibiotic ointment, antibiotics, anti swelling meds, q-tips, gauze, face mask to cover your face if you want to walk around town before the cast comes off, and even a box of individually packaged pumpkin juices to help reduce post op swelling.

If you have any questions about what to do while you're there, where to stay, etc...hit me up. It's pretty easy to get around and even find entertainment while you're in recovery mode.

Hey everyone! I'm planning to have my nose done for the first time. I've done some research and it seems like for Asians, it is somewhat better to travel to Korea because the surgeons there have more experience with the Asian structure/aesthetic. However, since I'm not an US citizen & currently studying in the US at the moment, not having to fly out of America would save me some time & stress of visa issues when I come back to the US. Are there a huge difference between the quality of work (specifically, rhinoplasty for Asian - I'm female if that helps) in the US vs Korea? Will it be worth the stress to get a nose job in Korea?

Can you also recommend some decent suggestions for Asian rhinoplasty surgeons in the US? I have heard of Dr. Yoo in California, but his price (~ 20,000 USD) is a bit high for me...
