congratulation on your decision to do rhino for the first time. be very careful how you take in those advice and suggestion given to you by different clinics in korea. remember that not every clinic will provide you with the same recommendation. so its important to know exactly what you want to get done and heed only advice that you feel is related to your need. clinic is korea is looking out for their own best interest and not yours. their only objective is to convince you that you need as many procedure as they suggested. stick to your gun and don't alter your plan just because a clinic suggest other wise.

to know if you're a candidate for bridge, you would first need to measure your profile to see if there is any lack. some time if you project your nasal tip too much, the rest of your facial feature tedn to fall behind. so its important to use the Golden ratio to first measure your side profile. if you do it correctly, you should be able to get a prespective of wheather you need to raise your bridge along with having a tip plasty. i didn't know much about measurement until i consulted with Bk for my medial epi and the doctor did all these measurement to my face. it got me interested so i did my own research into it and even got self a PHI caliper to help measure my face. now i know what need to be done when i go for my nose revision surgery as well as my lateral epi.

if you did your tip plasty in august, the major swelling will go down before sept roll in. but you might still experience some mild swelling for atleast a few more months after that. but its only very minor and hardly noticable. everybody heal at a different rate so its hard to say whether you will experience mild swelling or no swelling after 4 weeks. the younger you are, the faster you will recover from it.

Thank you very much for your advice. It is so overwhelming when you start researching. If you don't mind me asking, what is a phi caliper? Is it something that you can download freely? BK's doc is going to Jakarta for consultation, and I was planning to go talk to him since I will be there at the same time. Do you think that is worth it? Or shd I wait and talk to the docs in Korea.

I don't want a major change (but isn't that what most ppl say at 1st? ) but of course even this change makes me really nervous. After all, nose is what ppl see 1st no? I mean, I wd like my nose to look natural, just better... hehehehe..

So here I am in Seoul. Had my consultations today. Firstly BK Dong, what a joke. Dr Hong talks at you not to you. I wanted consultation for revision rhino, v line with genioplasty, lateral epi and paranasal augmentation. Many answers he replied 'you can look that up on the internet' or dont ask me those questions you dont need to know I will decide. You cant ask more than a few questions he started to get really pissed off. He makes hardly any eye contact. You cant choose what you want, he said no to lateral epi, no to genio and said I will only do your nose. Me and Zoe were shocked and the female consultant looked really uncomfortable and totally understood why we didn't even bother to stay for a price. Total waste of time, had to wait over an hour for the worst 10 minute consultation ever. So off to lunch then to ID Hospital. From the moment I stepped through the door I was treated with importance, what a contrast. First I had a CT scan so the surgeons can see my bone structure. I met with Dr Park Sang Hoon for v line with genio. He took his time explained everything clearly in English and answered all my questions I felt very at ease with him. Zoe tells me he had the highest Mensa score in all of South Korea so he is one of the most clever men in the country, no wonder he pioneered 2jaw surgery, this gave me even more confidence. Then I met Dr Kim Junesung. He too spoke very good English, always smiling and very easy to talk to. I asked for a Megan Fox nose, gave him a picture and he said yes he can create this for me. He also said yes to para nasal augmentation and lateral epi. The price was good with some haggling so I agreed to go ahead. But there was a problem. I want the ops tomorrow but the Dr's did not have a free slot until next Tuesday which is no good for me, it does not gave me enough down time before flying back to the UK. So Joanna my consultant went to double check after Zoe had a word with her, she managed to get the surgeon to work late especially for me so I am booked for surgery 4pm local time tomorrow. Wish me luck! x

I'm thinking about consulting with ID, Banobagi and OZ with the help of Zoe. they've all given me different advice via online consultation as well, which is rather confusing. I was leaning toward OZ for awhile because Dr Park is so detailed with his emails. But he doesn't have an orthodontic department like ID does. Thing is, ID says they need 1 week after direct consultation to process my Xrays and CTs. :S So my 2.5 week stay won't be enough. Whereas OZ will be able to look at my xrays and proceed the next day.

I'm still trying to decide if I need two jaw surgery or if mandible angle reduction will do to correct a mild asymmetry. I'm kinda worried about skin sagging as well, for which OZ will do a face lift. But I'm wondering if it might be better to do acculift at ID instead. I'm also considering having zygoma reduction and rhinoplasty.

I think Seoul should be safe enough, though I'll try to keep it on the down low about payments and such. All the best with your surgery! We should keep in touch and compare notes!

Hi. I had all my scans X-ray and blood and heart checks today at ID and the results were instant so I don't know why you were told one week, you should query this.
Don't have 2 jaw unless you really need it, it's a major op with serious bleeding. I'm a good candidate for this but I'm not having it done, can't afford to be unwell for up to 6 months so I am having v line with genio, para nasal augmentation, revision rhino and lateral epi.
I asked about saggy skin as this is very important for me, Dr Park Sang Hoon guaranteed me this won't happen as I am Asian and we have thicker skin, western folks are more prone as their skin is thinner. I met a girl who has had v line she agreed no sagging but maybe a few mm drop right under the chin.
2.5 weeks is plenty, I have 2 weeks after surgery with stitches removed a day before my flight home. My ops are tomorrow, worst part is fasting!

I walked past VIP today the building is a lot smaller than you think from their pictures on their site. They are very very expensive!

I am also worried that after all the swelling goes down, I'll be left with loose skin and tissue. I've looked at a lot of the surgery reviews on Banobagi's website and it seems like many of the girls had to go back after a few months to get lipo/acculift. I am very worried, but I've mentally prepared myself to possibly have to return in a few months. The recovery for that should be a lot quicker than the V-line surgery itself, at least.

Which clinics mentioned to you that you will need the mini face lift after V-line surgery?

I asked the consultant at Banobagi the other day and she said it shouldn't be a problem for me because I didn't REALLY have V-line surgery, whatever that means. I mostly just reduced my chin, angle and muscles. I don't know if she knows what she is talking about. Unfortunately, I still have not met with the facial contouring doctor since my operation 11 days ago, but I am meeting with him on Day 13 when I get the stitches removed. I will be sure to ask him this and get a clear answer. It kinda bugs me that I don't get to see the facial contouring doctor until day 13 post op. I met with the nose doctor yesterday at Day 10 to remove the stitches but for the first 9 days I was pretty much on my own. I met with the consultants on Day 7, but that doesn't cut it. They aren't doctors. I don't know if this is normal, but maybe I needed to be more demanding.

I felt pretty safe walking around the city. There are many other lone females walking around, even at night. No one has to know you are carrying all that cash. I did not try to spend USD here, I converted money as needed at the bank.

I am now 11 days post op andstill VERY swollen. My nose is looking good, but the V-line surgery still has ways to go. I look like I have marbles inside my mouth (hopefully the stitches have something to do with it and it'll get better when they're removed), can only stick one finger inside my mouth and eat soft foods, and my neck/jaw/chin area is still bruised and very hard, tender, and lumpy from the swelling. Fortunately, I can just wear a surgical mask covering my mouth or even just my chin and look almost normal. However, without any cover ups, I am far from looking normal. Hopefully in a week or so I can be back to normal life and be able to have a conversation without having a mouth full of marbles and sport a potato-like lower face. And of course, I hope my skin will somehow just retract after the swelling goes away. I had a very thin face and tight jawline prior to surgery.

Hi. I was told to walk everyday for 2-3 hours after v line apparently this reduces a lot of the swelling, did you do this? I am in Seoul now, surgery at ID tomorrow so if you still around in a couple of days we can meet up if you feel up to it.

All the best for your surgery!! Its great that they agreed to work OT! shows they value ur business. I've decided not to get two jaw after looking at my xray here in australia. Hope your op goes smoothly do update us abt ur recovery.

i would suggest that you head over to ID and talk to Dr park. i just had 2 jaw, V-line revision, and sliding genio done at ID 2 months ago and quite satisfied with the result.. mind you that i am still a little swollen from the trauma of 2 jaws, but i can already see a vast improvement aesthically. i been to cinderella a day before i return home 2 months ago and i can tell you that there's nothing special about cinderella clinic. their flashy website may tell you otherwise. when choosing a clinic for your need, you have to look into post operative care as well. how experience or skilled a surgeon is would mean nothing if there can't take care of you properly after the surgery. i too was taken in by their amazing before and after photo. and if you travel the subway in korea, you can see their advert being displayed constantly. good luck.
