Hi. I do not know anything about Dr Kim at ID, only Dr Gim who reconstructed my new nose. I can only highly recommend Dr Gim based on my personal experience and outcome for revision rhinoplasty. I suggested him to another forumer and she went for a consultation with him yesterday, she was pleased with his knowledge, detailed consultation and he is also very likeable. Go to the ID Hospital website, you can view each surgeon and read their credentials.

Intially when my friend had his rhino revision, he also thought jewelry did a good job with his nose. I'm not bashing jewelry on their skill as a surgeon. I had seen successful rhino done at jewelry without infection. But that's only one case. I'm sure as a surgeon there are great, but their post op care is terrible. My friend is already regretting his decision to have his revision rhino done there. But don't take my word into consideration until you talked to jewelry personally. And while you're atbit, speak with dr shin of BK. I'm not saying go have your rhino done at BK. I'm saying just talk to him first before you talk with any other surgeon. Their price is a little higher than most clinic, but the result you get will be more than worth the price. Take it from some one who have had 2 rhino done else where that don't want to compromise with good result. You might get a cheaper price at jewelry but remember you get what you pay for. Talking to dr shin is free of charge and you are not obligated to have the surgery with him. But I'm sure you will be very impress with dr shin meticulous attention to detail.

First I had lunch with Zoe, not had any solid food for 7 days so she insisted it was OK to eat some noodles, she was right, they tasted lush. Slowly but surely I slurped my way through my soup noodles. Zoe was telling me all about her day then she got a call and had a cancellation from a girl that couldn't get time off work so if any of you guys still require the most caring translator in the world then Zoe has free slots but I know from being around her and speaking to other people she does get booked up fast so get in there quick.

Noodles down and time for my second check up. First I had all my stitches behind my ears removed, where they harvested the cartilage and where I had my blood drain tubes, it hurt a little, Zoe was so good she held my hand told me to stay calm. I hate pain. Second they removed the stitches around my nose, ok not too bad, then the stitches around my eyes, again not too bad. Then the splints inside my nose were removed, these are in there to help maintain the shape while new tissue forms. I can't say it was really really painful but it certainly wasn't pleasant, its an instant pain and once removed it was a huge relif as my nose passage was free to use, I could breathe halleilujah! I asked Zoe to translate every last detail, I was having a conversation with the Korean nurse and Zoe translated both ways so I knew what was happening next, this put me at ease. Finally my nose cast was taken off, Dr Gim had arrived in the room by now. The mirror was handed to me and ..... wooo hooo I am chuffed to bits, it looks just like the nose I ordered, I have Megan Fox's nose on my face, how bizzare is that! It looks amazing, I am so pleased, not to brag but I wear it well, it suits me. The bridge, the width, the length, all of it, just what I asked for. If you know me personally you will know I don't recommend people lightly but Dr Gim if you read this, you are the best Rhino Doc, thank you.

However there was a downside, as I am a slow healer and because it is revision rhino when the tissue grows and connects with the silicone implant it is softer tissue than if you were having virgin rhino. Dr Gim said I had not produced enough tissue to hold it in place so he put another cast on, what a bummer but hey ho so long as I get the nose I don't care, shame I have to maintain my undercover look with hat and face mask till Tuesday, I would don a trench coat but its too damn hot here!

Then Dr Park came in to check on my V Line progress. My stitches in my lower jaw and chin are all dissolvable, I think Dr Park did this intentionally as he knew I didn't have a clear 14 days before I flew home. My X Rays were on the TV screen and I asked him if I could have this emailed to me, he said no problem I will put it on a CD for you, so he asked the nurse to do this. I asked him a few questions that he can only answer after my operation. Apparently I have had 4mm reduced from my chin, this is called sliding Genioplasty, and around 2-3 mm shaved all around my jaw line, some massetur muscle removed too. This will give me a nicer slimmer face. You see, I really should have 2 jaw surgery but no way am I brave enough so everything I have had done will give the 'illusion' of 2 jaw hence the paranasal augmentation that will push out my upper jaw and the sliding genio to push back my chin. However I will always have a slight underbite and I am so ok with this.

Then off to the Face Clinic for my second facial. Personally I preferred the first facial. This one irritated my eyes a bit, having just had my stitches out they put this wet eye pad on me before going under the heat lamps but this time it stung my eye so I had to remove it but the stinging continued as it had seeped in. It ended with a cold face mask and no facial massage so facial number one beats facial number two hands down.

As you can tell my whole attitude has changed, everything is great and because I can now breathe out of my nose I slept a full 6.5 hours straight, something I haven't done since I got here 9 days ago. Also not to put too much of a finer detail on it, as I hadn't had any solid foods for so long I couldn't go if you know what I mean but it all went back to normal this morning.

Final check up next Tuesday and my posting will be shorter as there won't be much more I can help you guys with. I hope you have enjoyed sharing my journey so far.

Its now time to check out of Hotel Highland, I strongly suggest room 212, it's massive for 99million KRW per night. I'm off to another hotel for a change of scenery and going to actually do something today, I'm off to the market to buy some real fake handbags maybe.

I'm glad to hear you're recovering nicely! I was wondering if you're experiencing any numbness after your V-line. I've read that it's common to lose sensation as a result of temporary nerve damage after jaw procedures.

I would also appreciate it if you could share your before and after photos when you're sufficiently recovered--my email is waffle.enthusiast @ gmail . com. ID is at the top of my list and as we both have bite problems, I'd love to see how Dr. Park created the illusion of a perfect bite!

Is the room / size comfortable enough for a person whom just gone through major surgery? I can't see any photos of the hotel posted on the link so how would u rate the hotel? I guess most important is there must be a mini fridge and kettle in the room.

Hey guys,

I'm 25 days post-op and I'm pretty worried about how weird my chin still looks. It looks big and droopy and I really hope that it is just swelling. It is a little reassuring when I compare my current chin to my pre-op chin in side by side photos. I can see that it is a bit fuller and longer than before, and it has to be swelling since I had my chin reduced, not augmented. UNLESS... my chin looks bigger now because my jawline is reduced more than my chin, so it is now out of proportion? Anyone have knowledge about this?

Dr. Oh told me he only reduced a little bit of bone for me. When I asked him about my chin on Day 13, he told me not to worry because swelling moves downwards and it's just collected at my chin. Anyway, I just really hope it won't remain droopy after the swelling goes away.

I also think photos always make me look the worst. It looks a little better in the mirror, in both the before and after pics. Photos seem to magnify every flaw for me, especially the self-taken ones. My features look larger and distorted. I've always not known whether to trust the mirror or the pictures!

I've mentioned that I used to use Botox for jaw reduction, and in the before pic, I had been off it for a year so my masseters were extra large. Also, note that I had fat grafting to my cheeks, so my current facial fullness isn't completely due to swelling... or at least I hope!!! I really am enjoying having fuller cheeks. I'm worried that the fat grafting didn't "take" and the grafted fat will continue to diminish over the next few months. At this point it seems like I will need to return to Korea for a fat grafting touch up, which I had been prepared for prior to surgery.

In regards to my nose, although I'm generally happy with it, as you can see the change is very minimal. I'm probably the only person who can tell the difference. My columella is lifted (more apparent in profile view), my nostrils are now symmetrical, and my tip is smaller. My only dissatisfaction is that my nostrils still show too much. I had specifically requested to decrease my nostril show, and the doctors at Regen, Banobagi, and Oz all told me that lifting my columella will accomplish that. Dr. Kim at ID was the only one who suggested grafts to my alar rims to bring down my nostrils. I don't know why the other doctors didn't suggest this method. I did a google search on this method and US doctors mentioned that it is difficult to get this procedure right and asymmetry can occur. I hope that is the reason, and not because the other doctors were just lazy and wanted to do as simple as a job as possible

I apologize for my ramble, but this is my experience with my surgery at Banobagi, at 25 days.

I'm going share a before/after pic, and I'm sorry it isn't too encouraging at this point as I still look worse than before with my droopy chin.

You look great! I love your nose revision, it looks very natural. It's a subtle difference, but makes a world of change to your face.

I think it's just the swelling that's making your chin look out of proportion. Since you had V-line, they reduced your chin to fit your new face. It's only people who have their mandibles done but not their chins who have this problem, like in this photo:

Thank u! I am considering hotel highland now that it seems closer than the other hotels I was looking at! 14 days at a hotel adds up quick! I will also check out hotel star! I just want a comfortable place tho now I'm only considering lipo so I guess my recovery time isn't as intense as anyone doing 2 jaw or rhino.

Hi Asin, I think your results look really nice and natural. I think I may have gone to the same doc as you for primary rhino because the nose that I got sounds awfully familair to yours I too am seeking revision. If you don't mind, I really want to ask you a few questions about your surgery.
