best plastic surgery clinics in Korea

Recommended Posts

I'm glad I took everyone's advice about consulting many clinics. I'm getting different recommendations from 3 clinics that I consulted so far. JW recommended double eyelid or brow lift/ epi for eyes, osteotomy, remove the hump with no implant for my nose while dr. Park from OZ said I don't need osteotomy but should do nasal augmentation with implant to cover the slight hump. Dr. Park also recommended epi but with blepharoplasty for droopy eyelids. ID is the worse one in my opinion, their prices are not consistent in every email and they don't give detailed consultation. ID just pretty much said you need your nose done and it's 4500 usd. OK, I think i know that i need a nose job lol. I will prob. cross ID off my list..
Side question, do you have to take off nail polish for the surgery?

Hey dan4me, hope you're well! Yes, indeed that is true too, different clinics have several specialists. At vip, it was Dr Kim who apparently is the main surgeon specialising in rhinoplasty, and he recommended rib (which wasn't a total surprise for me). The fact that the clinic treats you like a vip is what other people have told me who have had surgery done there. Yeah, I personally don't know anyone who's been and really disliked their results. I just urge for people to see any many surgeons as poss (in the area that they want surgery done of course) and not judge on the overall clinic.

I mention BK only because it is very well known in this forum, and I wanted to be honest and say that several local Korean people said they wouldn't go there personally, so that seems to be their view. They were also aware that their name is big due to all the marketing that they do. I thought it would be good for forumers here to be aware that they are one of the biggest clinics here that spend a lot of money on international marketing, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they have an outstanding reputation. And due to reputation being so important to the clinics I am sure that BK have done some results that some patients have been satisfied with, and some that haven't - they would've shut down by now if all their surgeries were bad results! I just found it strange that when I mentioned the name BK to some Korean girls who were my nails the other day, they were like saying (translated from my firend who was with me) that they would not think of going there for plastic surgery.

Quick update - got my cast and stitches out this afternoon! Met up with kkim and went shopping the whole day (think we may have over treated ourselves!) and then dinner with her and Nicole, so just got back to my hotel.

I am really happy with my results. The cast was over most of my nose so I really couldn't visualise what it would look like when it came off. But yeah it's really nice, of course still very swollen especially around the mid-high bridge of my nose as that is where the lateral osteotomy was performed, and its also swollen on the top part of my bridge as that is where the humpectory was done, so yeah, pretty much all is still swollen but I can definitely see the shape of how it'll look and I'm really pleased.

The swelling should start going down from now and so one of things that is meant to have quicken this process is of course lots of gentle exercising but also pumpkin juice apparently! Kkim says most of the pharmacies around the Apgujeong are, and yesterday I found one pharmacy that sell it (and it takes really nice, though I think it's got a little sweetner in it) I'm not sure how to describe where exactly it is, but if you are walking and the Apguheong station is behind you, the pharmacy is on the right hand road, maybe one block from the station. Hope that makes sense!

So yes, now I am going to do a facemask and exfloliate my nose!

Really how come?

I've actually did some research and alot of people are saying Gortex might be better than Silicone. The material is more soft. THere are alot of pro's and con's I guess.

Ahh.. I see. Thanks for the insights! Yes the more I've researched the more I actually find not necessarily bad reviews of BK, but alot of people are unsatisfy with their aftercare and results. The end results for me is extremely important, but I figured, if the staffs are not helpful and nice it would be extremely hard for me too. Afterall I paid so much to go to to Korea to get this PS and not to mention I'd probably be scared crapless cause im in a foreign country..

Read that you go your nose done as well. Which clinic did you go to?

Doing revision after a gortex rhino is quite difficult... The nature of gortex causes the native tissue to grow around the implant. In the event of a revision, the surgeon would have to excise a great deal of tissue in order to remove the implant. And because it is a foreign body, there is actually quite a high chance that you will require a revision in the future. That is just the nature of foreign materials. If you don't need too much augmentation, I would think dermis would be a good option. Or if you need a lot, perhaps a rib graft? Although rib rhino is a SERIOUS procedure...

Good luck~!

kkim! Haha, I read your comment on the other thread ("Asian Nose Job 3")... You are hilarious . I'm sure you look great and hope you're healing well. I had a question though... I know before you mentioned research into zygoma surgery but the doctor said it's not possible and was wondering how he determined that? Is there some way I can feel my cheekbone to get a good idea? I know, of course, X-ray is most reliable but just to get an idea, is there a way to feel it out a bit? I can feel that my cheekbones are wide but not sure how they can tell if you can get the surgery or not...

Thanks in advance for your insight and happy healing, girl!!!

I know the majority dont use gpretex anymore because most prefer silicone or sillitex or high soft silicone which is like goretex mix silicone.
Goretex was good because infection rate is a lot lower than silicone, is natural as it fused with skin and has low absorption rate, so overall seemed the best but yes it is harder to revise as it does blend with the skin -

Rib is good if you want drastoc change but even then there is complications and reabsorption can be high - same as dermis.

So it just depends on the individual!!

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to this thread. I got my nose and eyes done is Korea last year around April at Regen in Korea. Now, i'm currently interested in getting perhaps v-line and genioplasty or jaw reduction and genioplasty. Can someone recommend the best hospital in Korea that specializes in bone contouring.

Thanks!
