mina0iris Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 HI Panda Bear ! ^^ I will have a mask too.. I guess it will be more easy to recognize you.. lol email me once you'll be in Seoul > mina0iris gmail com I'm staying at Hotel Star (yeoksam station) it's not far from apgujeon/sinsa. it's cheap, I have a double bed with my sis ( 53 euros per nights). I can move easily in seoul !!^^
diormilk Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 The doctors from ITEM used to be from BKDY. and the previous consultant elaine is working for them now. The pics on their website seems impressive...but duno is it the real stuff or photoshopped.
panda_bear Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 a mask from the facial treatment? ahah people can think we are a bunch of tourists with the flu! I'm staying at the DongYoung Hotel so its conveniently close to all the clinics and hopefully sharing a room with dramasing (53 euros is rad !)
karagiselle Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Hi thanks diormilk for replying^^ I'm really impressed by ITEM looking at their website.. They even have surgery for the back of the head. Sounds damn wtf to me.. They provide so many surgical procedures. Does it mean they're all rounded? Haha it just blows my mind.. I think since they're from BK they must be quite overpriced.. Anyone going Seoul this late may to early June? ^^
diormilk Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I think I might decided to drop bkdongyang n opt for item surgery instead. they provide more services that I wanted...
diormilk Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I saw one of thread on ITEM surgery. quite good reviews on them. n the outcome of her surgery seems good. i emailed them , waiting for their reply. im heading over in april
xvx666 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 One good thing about the clinic is that the doctors only perform what they are good at. For example you want a rhinoplasty and a full incision double eyelid done, there will be two doctors who will take turn to do it. Dr Kim JinSung is specialised in doing rhinoplasty (which also includes revisional rhinoplasty) and facial contouring. Dr Chung WooJin is specialised in doing eyes and facelifting. And they are NEVER pushy. They will tell you what they can do and what they cannot do. Their prices are Korea standard price. BK targets foreigners thats why they charge in USD. There are a lot of big clinics that targets foreigners thats why they charge up to 10k for a nose job.
caitlinlim Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 i think you should look into teuim clinic, you can google soompi double eyelid for loads more informations on double eyelid
caitlinlim Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Hey~ how much did ID Clinic quoted you for facial contouring
caitlinlim Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Hey, it's about 3,000,000krw to 3,500,000 krw when are you going? if you're going in early april then you can join me v
snowybaby1381 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Thanks for your reply! When did you get both surgeries done and how much were each cosmetic procedure? Did u get both done at same time or on separate occasions? How long did it take to recover for both? Are scars quite visible during first few wks? Thanks ! I just want to do as much research as poss as it's a big decision to make going under the knife under an unknown surgeon!
karagiselle Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Hey thanks xvx666 for replying^^ I wanna know if they do waive the 10% VAT if we do multiple surgeries. And does ITEM extort foreigners? ^^ I wanna know how much they charge their native people.. It's so unfair if we're being charged double the price for the same procedure.. I'm a student and I've been struggling so hard to earn the $.. I can't afford if they insist on imposing the VAT.. It's like I've to pay $2K for a $20K surgery!! mind blown** Thanks a lot on advance^^
ceedub Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 dear all, i've been hearing and reading from respectable media pieces that korea does indeed practice very serious price discrimination against foreigners, especially since the korean law does not provide protection for foreigners against price discrimination, malpractice, or even patient record privacy. for those of you with experience, can you pls share/advise as to how you went about ensuring fair procedure costs? and for those of you who've hired local guide (especially zoe), do they help in keeping the doctors' quotes realistic/fair? i worry because i read that local guides tend to get significant kickbacks (proportional to clinic earnings from patient) from bringing business to clinics, and so it is not in their best interest to help foreign patients bargain fair prices. any thoughts/advice?
