butternpancake Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Dear all, i wondering if anyone knows if there's any skilled plastic surgeons who perform rib cartilage rhinoplasty in Seoul? Hope to hear from you all soon! Thanks!
julesismail Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Hi,I was wondering if anyone has heard of dr kwang min park of shimmian.i had emailed for a consultation to shimmian and received a answer from dr park and not dr Jung.haa anyone done procedures with him?has anyone in the forum had reconstructive surgery for the nose due to dermal filler complications?i heard dr.jung is quite good in this particular field?is this true?thanks so much guys
julesismail Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Hi,I had been inquiring about reconstructive rhino with shimmian Korea and doctor park emailed me mentioning my proposed procedure will use self rib cartillage.but my case is regards to recnstructive reasons , not purely cosmetics.if it was purely cosmetic maybe they would prefer to use implants rather than cartilage to achieve the desired look.i hear rib cartilage may not be lasting due absorption by the body but I'm not very sure though.hope it helps..
butternpancake Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I've heard VIPPS Dr. Lee is specialist in rib rhinoplasty. I wonder if there's other recommendation? I hope to have a few more options besides VIPPS.

ujcnb Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Hi, I had mine den in Singapore. It's easier because you need to get it reviewed after two or four weeks and it would be too pricy to fly to Seoul for the review. By the way, I saw your photos, Item did a good job for you. Did you also have love band surgery? I had my nose done in BK and am not satisfied about the results. I will go back for a revision.
lilywu Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Have you guys considered doing it here in los angeles? There are some korean surgeons in l.a.. sk, enhance, wave, david kim..i need revision rhino and i dont know if its a good idea to go so far..
illumi Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Hi guys! Just had my NJ and eye bag removal this morning and everything went smoothly. I went in at 10am, and woke up around 1pm. I heard the op lasted about 2 hrs. That means I was KO for about an hour My feelings at the moment... I'm glad it's over! When the local anesthetic was inserted into me, I think I was awake for abt 20 secs. All the while thinking... hmm I'm still awake. Then next thing I know, I am already in the recovering room hearing the nurse's voice, saying I can rest here for a while. Man. That is indeed a smooth op My nose is bandaged up and can only be taken off in a couple of days. Noticeable results can only been seen in a month. (I do not want to base on a few weeks to give review as nose will still be slightly swollen) Best results in 3 - 6 months, so I will update how my result is until then.
sweetheart2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 illumni - Congrats. It's great to hear that your surgery went smoothly. Can I ask what kind of rhinoplasty did you undergo? Rib cartilage or implant? Did you get tip plasty too? Thanks!
snowybaby1381 Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 here's a thread about rib cartilage rhinoplasty:# you might want to read this link about the risks involved before considering rib cartilage rhinoplasty: http://www.realself.com/question/major-risks-revision-rhinoplasty-rib-cartilage The biggest complication from the harvest is a potential for a pneumothorax (collapsed lung. But then again, there are always risks involved with whatever plastic surgery you partake.I am also considering rhinoplasty but wouldn't personally consider rib cartilage though; am thinking maybe septal cartilage ??? but am still doing research...
illumi Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Hello and thanks for your well wishes! My rihnoplasty procedure is silicon implant, septal cartilage for the tip, and alar base reduction. Also doc made my nasal bridge slimmer by filing away both sides of the nasal bone.
