So, I've had 2 sessions so far with the Lapex 2000 laser machine by Meridian. He measures me before and after and the machine is on me for a whole hour! In total (he measures me in 3 different places on my abs-upper, middle and lower), I've lost 3.75 inches in my first session and 3.5 inches in my second.

However, that might sound GREAT but I'm not really seeing or feeling the results and with that amount of inches off, you'd think I'd notice a significant improvement, right?

Anyone else had any experience with this? I bought a package of 7 sessions and I have 5 more to go...maybe I'll notice more improvement in the upcoming sessions, but if any of you have ever had this...please report your experiences. I'd love to hear from you.

is it supposed to be permanent or will it go back to the way it was before your sessions? I hope it's permanent, otherwise that's a waste of $$

They say it is supposed to be permanent but I am not sold yet. He takes my measurements before each session and then immediately after. So, for example here are my measurements:

Session 1:
Before Treatment After Treatment
Upper Abs: 31.75", 30"
Belly button: 30", 29.25"
Lower Abs: 32", 31.25"

Session #2
Before treatment
Same as starting point from the previous session....so it appears that I am not maintaining the weight loss really.

I'm on session 3, so my starting point was a bit lower today than usual but not a significant difference AND my starting point was still slightly higher than my closing measurements AFTER my last treatment...make sense?

So, scientifically or mathematically (inches wise) I'm losing but not significantly. And, I am also wondering just how much of the loss is coming from exercise and eating right since that is a big aspect of this entire treatment...you MUST to work out and eat right to see optimal results.

That is my dilemma. I am starting to think this is a bit of a scam...my friend swears by it but I don't know...I'm not super convinced. On Friday is my next session, so I'll post my measurements and then you can see for yourselves.

ALSO, and VERY IMPORTANT thing I forgot to mention is that the guy actually measures you before and after and I am wondering if he might be "fudging" the measurements to show a significant weight loss because apparently in my first session I lost 3.75", last session I lost 3.25" but gained back about 1.25", today I was down a WHOLE 4.75" (please note: the total sum of the measurements in 4 different body points not just in one area), and yet I could NOT notice a difference AT ALL. Nothing. Nada. My pants fit the same as when I walked in...I couldn't even feel the difference at all let alone see it and you'd think that with 4.75" of weight loss you'd feel at least some of that loss, right?

Anyways, I still have 4 sessions left, so I'll keep you posted!

Hi Jences,

Do you have an update on your progress? You probably had another 2-3 treatments. I'm thinking about trying it out but also wonder if it's permanet else I should just work out more. ;)

Thanks!

IT sucks. Doesn't work. Only works for about a day then it all comes back again. Definitely NOT worth the money...sorry ladies, this is just another gimmick.

Can you get your money back? Tell them if they don't, you will turn them into your states attorney general. Who ever has approved that machine like the FDA needs to know too.
Did you put it on a credit card? Ask for a refund.

Hi Jenses,

I feel for you… Thanks for replying. The thing with the FDA approval is that most of these machines are “approved for safety” but not necessarily “approved for effectiveness”.

VegasLongLegs has a point, if you don’t have any results, tell them you want at least some money back to share the financial loss. The treatment was delivered (the service was delivered) so I’m not sure your credit card company can help here; credit card companies only take care of situations when the vendor didn’t deliver the service/product (i.e. airline went bankrupt).

Cheers!

Wow sorry this happened to you!
Why would the doctors not want to pursue this? If something isn't done, these people will continue to perpetrate this scam to others.
Never let pride/arrogance get in the way of good judgement.
As a patient I would never think badly of doctors who can admit they made an error like this. You can't possilby know about every product available.
Know how sales people are, they lie!

I am very happy to read posts about lapex laser.
I am a medical doctor in Europe and relying on the studies I could find on internet, different testimonies from USA and FDA report and also being a doctor used to being very doubtful about these new miracle devices I posted an article on internet saying that I was very cautious about this device and its action on fat.
The company tried to scare me telling me they will sue me.I gave up because I didn't want any trouble.
What can we do in Europe when people from Marketing say a device coming from USA works , approved by FDA ( I know it's only approved for joints pain..)well when everything coming from USA is wonderful ..
If you could tell people in Europe , Spain, France and so on...that it didn't work for you it would be so good .Every person should speak and understand English!
Thank you for your testimonies and good luck for this doctor who has lost his money.

I did the treatment after a ton of research. I chose to do it on my inner thighs because no matter how much I dieted and exercised I could never get rid of it from that part of my body. The doctor was very blunt with me. Basically, the best benefit is for people who have a problem area like I did. It still goes by calories in/calories out. If you have a treatment it takes fat out of the area by breaking it down into waste, water and energy (free fatty acids) as well as some toxins that are commonly stored in fat tissue. If you eat more calories than you burn you will just be putting more fat into your body. That's true of everything including liposuction. When I questioned why they measured me in 5 different spots he said it's because that's the surface area that they were lasering and if I only wanted one area measured than they would only laser that one area. I got it- they document the whole surface area reduction, not just one spot because that's like reporting 1/5th of the work done. I saw the difference about half way through 9 treatments and I felt the difference mostly at the end of my treatments with the way my pants and jeans looked and when I crossed my legs. The laser only breaks down the fat, it doesn't tone muscles. I have been a fitness coach for 7 years and even I realized my assumptions after talking to this very honest, very blunt doc. To address the earlier question of "does it go back to the way it was before?" When fats break down and are excreted from the body, that fat can't get back into your body, so the only way to gain new fat is to make new fat. To keep up with my results, my doc recommended the Alcat test, a blood test that tells you exactly what foods are most beneficial for your body based on how the foods break down in your blood and if they cause inflammation due to developed delayed food sensitivities. I did the test and took the problem foods out of my diet and my over all average body fat percentage went down 5% and my muscle mass went up 3%. Over all, I think it was completely worth it. My doc told me on my first visit, it's science, not a miracle.

I just read the post from doctorhelp. I feel bad for him, but I have personally witnessed this work for not only me but a lot of my friends and also people I work with. My doctor was extremely well informed but he also told me that when he first started he was treating people who had unrealistic expectations and who had bad eating habits and didn't exercise. He won't take anyone into his program now who has poor diet and is over 40% body fat or people who starve their metabolism by skipping meals. Sometimes he sounds harsh but I appreciate his honesty. His quotes make me laugh, "the laser doesn't cure obesity, but obesity might cure lasers." I laugh, but I also take it seriously. I would hate to see people ruin such a good thing. I don't know how else I could get rid of my inner thighs without surgery. And even surgery is not permanent if you don't take care of yourself.

I also live in Denver. Can you tell the name of your doctor - he sounds like a good one. If you can't post his name can you tell me the letter that his last name starts with?

Thanks so much
