asian nose job 2

Recommended Posts

Thank you so much for the info! Do you know if you have to tell them your specific arrival date? I haven't booked my ticket yet but i know i'll be going around may/june. How long will you be staying in Korea for? Will you stay longer than 10 days? Will this be your first trip to Korea? Will you be doing any shopping/exploring?? Haha sorry for all the questions.

Kain,Thank u so much for yur input.

I used to have a flat nose with very low bridge.
Primary nose job done 5 years back With silicone L implant which sort of contracted.had a revision using silicone implant with ear cartilage for nose tip which result to skin thinning .Do u think goretex will be able to give height as rib?

I m torn between dr jung SHIMMIAN n dr lee VIP.
Which one will be better for me ?

I only told them I want to do rhinoplasty, and they said I can stay for 2 weeks.

You should tell them your arrival date after you book your tickets so they can save that date for you for your surgery process and also so they can pick you up from the airport.

@ Wai - Hi! May I ask what you don't like about your 2 previous rib nose jobs? I was set on getting rib done but remember you were revising yours and got nervous :/

@ Kain - Thanks! You are always bursting of useful information!) Ps. You are so cute about the falling on your nose thing.

@ ai_toka_dou - Darling! I heard about the terrible earthquakes in New Zealand.. Are you ok??! Hope you weren't affected!

@ ai_toka_dou - btw, I have already emailed VIP (4 days ago!) but still haven't heard back from anyone. I emailed them again today asking them if we get a discount as I heard that travel buddies get a special rate?!

hi welna; i suggest you email em your photo and ask for a quote from joann: your iphone can email?
[email protected]

you can ask her about any free accommodation as you are only doing 1 surgery not too sure if they offer you that.

any quotes online are just estimation too. have to see dr lee in person. hope that helps

my friend said i sound more muffled. i dk. but i think i sound ok. maybe early post op u may not get used to the lips/ mouth movement, but i guess you just need to get used to it. as for singing, idk, may affect the recovery of your nose early post op. you may want to speak to 3rd party doctor for a non bias opinion.

IMHO; better not risk it, although they r singers who had nose job done . idk

all the best

Serious? :wtf: There will be tax imposed on PS?! May I know where did u get that info from.. Gosh! If it is real, then I will have to reschedule my travel date.. :faint::sweatdrop:

If I am doing nose and eyes separately, which should go first - eyes or nose? Any idea, anyone?

both shimmian and VIP are focusing on international clients. i chose VIP due to their accreditation, response and super good service. Dr lee don't encourage foreign implants and hes good with RIBS. i had that.

dr jung recommended goretex.well, both were not well known by local koreans. as they market overseas.

VIP has got a 7 storey building on its own including a facial clinic. as i had walked around the district, many other clinics are only 1-2 storeys and some of them are even at back alleys.

if you go those so called popular ones( becuz they are techinically operating hospitals) ,i doubt they provide you with any exclusive pre and post op care/service.

i think this topic has been around before once in a while dr jung vs dr lee blah blah blah and we had been thru it couple of times.

it all depends on what you want for your nose; RIB is recommended for "last resort" or a better " future"

RIB is a big surgery, longer downtime, requires much more time and skills and money and requires more post op care. but facts to facts it has the least complications likely to happen and anything non foreign is always better.

youd been thru this: silicone/goretex may have higher risk of side effects but that doesnt mean it WILL happen. maybe many years down the road idk, but if u go for this option, be monetary/mentally prepared for a revision which could be more difficult for goretex.

it all depends on what you want for you nose, RIB can achieve more drastic results as your RIB will be handcrafted by the surgeon to your needs. I think its also "harder" feeling on the nose. you have rub nose your love i guess

personally: for minor/slight changes, go for goretex n prepare for revision again many years down the road.

for bigger/major changes , go for RIB. still prepare for revision but much less likely to happen if your surgeon is skilled and if you really take gd care of your nose.

dont let the cost of surgery affect your decision. this is not the time you consider discount or bargain.

to everyone;
if cannot afford a primary+ a revision that may occur in future; then dont do.

if mentally cannot handle emo/social/self acceptance and changes, then dont do.

if lifestyle could not accommodate, then dont do.

if your smoke/drink alot; then dont do, risk of complication is higher

if you love nose rubbing; then dont do

if you are scared of falling on your nose flat and bone extrude n pierce your eyeball or brain or ears or tongue, then dont do. ( lol < just making fun)

if you are already good looking , then dont do; oh cmon!

lol, just do it already -.-

ps: if the newbies have time, and really care, read thru ALL posts and both threads ..

actually there are a few more well known clinics which look really BIG and well established in apgujeong if you are there, walk around.. but not mentioned anywhere online.hmm

IF u have to do it separately, do the nose first. as nose job may change how your eyes look. then from there, u can better decide what exactly to be done to your eyes.

its no problem

i'll be staying for only 10 days. they reserved accomodation for me but they wanted me to tell them my flight numbers so that they could arrive airport pickup. You have to tell them the specific arrival date even if you don't want the free(i think its freee) airport pickup because the accomodation office-tel(office hotel) gets fully booked sometimes.

its my first trip to korea and i haven't made any plans for shopping/exploring yet lol. maybe just walk around the city and taste the food before my surgery.

i think rib and goretex can both give enough increase in bridge height for most ppl. goretex has a small chance of extrusion but i've never heard of rib extruding. it can warp though. they both have a low infection rate too.

i've asked ppl on this forum who have had goretex and said it is soft but firm on the bridge when you touch it. rib cartilage will give you a harder bridge and tip. rib cartilage rhinoplasty also makes your nose swell for a longer period of time, so it takes longer to see the final result, especially if it is a revision.

i faced the same dilemma that you did: dr jung or vip. i am going with vip (even though the final cost it twice as much) but i think that dr jung can do a good job too. i chose vip because they more with rib cartilage, which is what i want to use. they also do the sliding genioplasty for chin augmentation, whereas dr jung just uses implants. (sliding genioplasty uses my own bone to augment the chin instead of a silicone implant)

i want to use autologous material so that's why i'm going with rib and the sliding genioplasty (bone)

so basically i chose the clini based on the material i wanted to use. if you want to use rib, vip is a good idea. if you want to use goretex, dr jung is the way to go(dr jung specialises in goretex)
