no1209
hi girls after lurking around and reading so many pages of this thread, i've decided to join this conversation! i am interested in having rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty but is still researching about it. i am a girl from hong kong currently studying abroad in the east coast of the united states. i am thinking about having surgery done in seoul, japan, or taiwan possibly in winter of 2011 earliest. i would love to meet people that are in similar circumstances as me! angleplane
@angelfern: I did the entire body contour (Vaser liposuction) at a hospital ranked top 10 in the world (even Bill Clinton visited it because of their high technology -surgery at distance by videocamera-). It was in India, the price was only USD1000 for the entire body (arms, back of armpit, thights, upper and bottom belly), 10 times cheaper than VIP clinic. The surgeon removed 4 liters. My average weight is always 4 kg less than before surgery. No matter if I do sports or not, my body would always have the same average weight. That's why I think that if I do another liposuction, my average weight will always equal the same (after the number of liters removed). I read somewhere that after 21, women tend to keep the same weigth, even if they do sports or diets. As to pain, when I woke up it did not hurt at all, 1 or 2 days the belly hurted a bit, but it's not painful at all. I could backpack one week after the liposuction. The scars are, in my point of view, due to the horrible hot weather. I had keloids, while when I healed in a cold country for my blepharoplasty, I absolutely had no scar. So, I think the weather was the difference, because my skin seems to heal well in general. Overall, I am very happy I did the body contour surgery. As to rhinoplasty and realistic results, I asked Dr Jung if I could have the same tip definition as Song Hye Kyo he said: it is possible. Same question to Dr Lee: he said that the same definition was not possible for thick skin. I asked Dr Jung if from my triangular nostrils, I could get the same nose as Park Shi Yeon: he said not possible, but nostrils closer to her than my actual one could be possible, Dr Lee said I could have the exact same nose as Park Shi Yeon. That would be a dream, I hear that he is ethical, realistic, and if he said yes to having the same nose as that actress, it means it is realistically possible. It sounds too good to be true, but I want to believe it. Do you not think he said that yes, I could have the same nose, because he rushed in answering to Joann when he saw the picture of my nose and the nose of that actress ? (I was on the phone with Joann, she showed the picture to Dr Lee and asked him while we were on the phone). That's the feeling I had.

angelfern
Thanks angleplane, LOL, Why do I assume u're a guy? Yeah, I'm looking at face contouring too. Joanne said that they do body & face on separate sessions. I'm keeping a lookout for small face clinic at the other forum too, so your concerns are similar to mine regarding the use of GA within the same period. Joanne mentioned to me that they can shave the mandibe & use it to augment my chin, I wonder small face clinic does that too. It'll be wonderful if we can use autologous coz silicon is really not good for me. I've thin skin. I read that we've to be careful with injecting the amount of lidocaine, the anesthetic in our body for 2 or more surgeries within the same period of time. Usually the doctor advises to do the procedures within the same surgery or split them at least 3 months apart.
kain
hey megoreng, i managed to ask larry (even though i lost my voice) why he chose vip, and he said something about people posting a lot about it here online and he didn't have much time to choose so he chose vip. kain
yesterday i went to the clinic for an antibiotic injection from the nurse who was on duty. it was to finish treating my uti. i also managed to catch a cough from my dad somewhere along the way and after having a cough for a few days, i lost my voice. my throat is still yellow at the front but i read that vitamin c helps with that, so when i get back home i will take lots of vitamin c. i'll be eating cranberries too to make sure the uti is gone. i'll start up on multivitamins too. i got my cast removed, but i still have a splint inside and my nose is still taped up. i can see my tip and it looks amazing from the side and angle view. i finally have a columella. it looks great from the front but i can tell that it still needs time for cartilage to reabsorb. can't see the bridge cos of the tape but the shape looks really good i got the k-wire removed today. it didn't hurt as much as megoreng said it would dr lee took some medical tweezers and pulled it out while holding my bridge back. i felt a small pain at the site where the wire was extracted from my nose. there are no nerves inside the cartilage where the wire was embedded, so i didn't feel any pain there
bbgurly
Yes please take loads of vitamins! Dried cranberries are suppose to have more vitamins contains than juices or even the real fruit themself. You should have both!! Im so happy to hear that you love your nose. If you are already falling in love with your nose now, I cant imagine you loving them more later. I am so with you about the columella part. My friend loved her side profile so much more than her front but I am the opposite. I love how Dr Lee gave me the "triangular look" for the columella from the front, though it is still swelling now. I am going to ask him to de-fat my nose more, I hope he will agree to do it though I know he is going to say most of it is still swelling but i just hope he will slice some fats off.... kain
it does seem a bit rushed. but it is really hard to make a good judgement call just using photographs. in person might be different. if you are unsure as to which surgeon to choose, when you go to korea it is a great idea to do consultations with multiple doctors. omom-momo
Kain, are you drinking a lot of pineapple juice?? It really helps with recovery. Also, those who are looking into getting eyelid surgery at VIP, Dr Lee does it too but specialises in non-incisional method. Wayyyyyy off nose surgery topic but... Does anyone know any good oral surgeons in Seoul around near VIP?? I need teeth extracted(!!) and thought it'd be great to do it when i get my nose done as i'll most likely be swollen and bruised anyways

kain
i am currently swinging back and forth between loving my new nose despite the obvious oversize, and not feeling too good about it... if i look in the mirror or at a reflection, i like how i look in a photograph, my face looks kinda fat and my nose looks weird and its not jjust for my nose, its my entire face. do i trust the mirror or a photo? one of the desk attendants took pics of me with her ipad and she sent them to me by email and they look great, but my dad took pics at the same time and i look terrible :/
kain
i'm gonna forward the ipad pics to ppl i've corresponded with first. i'll post them on the forums when i get home (it'll be up for a few months, and then i will replace it with a censored version) i will need to settle in first and get ready for school before posting of course
