Has anyone on here heard anything about Dr Alex de leon in the philippines?

He seems to have good samples of fixing wide alar bases....

Also was wondering if anyone has heard of the beverly hills 6750 clinic also in the philippines?

The samples are limited, but it's interesting how they transformed this girl named Lou Martillo on this page...

I read somewhere that she actually posed in FHM magazine after the transformation.

What do u guys think?

I will be staying at my translator's house.
I am still deciding between o & young, dr jung, and dr lee from banoraqi..
I like o & young's style. But mine is a revision case. It seems Dr Jung's skill is more trustworthy. Hard to make a decision..

Hello BBgurly,

I can't seem to PM you either.

Regarding goretex versus silicone... I think both can be dangerous because they both have their own disadvantages. I've heard about really bad goretex infections and other complications from some of the doctors here in the U.S. Keep in mind that it is a lot easier to remove silicone from the nose than goretex if problems were to arise. It takes a doctor with goretex experience to successfully remove goretex. Of course not everyone is going to have a negative reaction from either one, but it is riskier than using your own tissue. Implants are more suitable with people with thick skin because it minimizes the risk of extrusion.

From what I gathered after speaking with Migo, the doctor does not use rib cartilage a lot. I seriously suggest you go to a rib specialist if you are determined to use rib for your revision. Even their website does not even discuss rib rhinoplasty.

After doing all my research, I believe that rib cartilage is the best material for Asian rhinoplasty- I agree with what Dr. Lee told you. Keep in mind that Asians generally don't have enough septal cartilage. Ear cartilage has an irregular shape and it's a weak material. On the other hand, there is an abundant amount of rib cartilage that can be used. Unfortunately, there is no perfect material for nasal augmentation. Out of rib, septal, and ear cartilages, ear resorbs the most followed by septal then rib.

I already discussed my price in previous posts along with additional information. No, I don't plan to start a blog about my experience...lol... Don't worry, I will stay in touch.

I just had my silicone implant last month. I regretted it since I found out that there can post many site effects. What ever you guys choose. Don't use Goretex or Silicone.

@ gonnawin,

that is amazing! well, very dramatic... but still some nice results... my interest is now piqued because i think i need a medial/ lateral osteotomy (or what "la nouvelle image" refers to as "infracture", i think?) and alarplasty/ alar base surgery and they seem to do good work... and in the phillippines, they would speak english very fluently, right? plus i could eat all the dried mangos i could ever dream of  -- haha!

thanks very much for the link! you know, i feel like i've been thinking about and considering rhinoplasty for so long... and i still haven't had the guts or found the right time, place, and doctor to do it in/ at... i don't know... or i just can't decide because, well, i don't want to make the wrong decision with a structure in the middle of my face, right? :Push:... but every time i see a bad picture of myself, i'm all up in this researching business, haha! good luck to you, gonnawin, and i look forward to seeing you on this board some more!

Totally agree with you. Although it's often said that goretex gives a natural result, it turned out to look very artificial on my nose...

Hi Curious,
I'm pretty sure a lot of the people in the Philippines speak English well, so I don't think getting around would be too difficult. The drawback is that I haven't heard much about patients' experiences with dr de leon. I do like his samples, but i think i need more to go on to decide to go with him. There is a video on youtube with a girl who had good alar base reduction results with him at 3:16....

Other than that I can't seem to find much else... Please let me know if you find anything;)

Have you heard anything about OZ clinic and Dream clinic? Oz has only a few sample photos on their site, while I haven't found any at all for Dream clinic. I'd like to find out more about them, so if anyone could post any info on them it would be really helpful.

Just wondering who have you narrowed down your search to? Are you just planning on doing the infracture and alar plasty?

Hi Everybody!
I am now home from my trip to Korea. I would like some encouragement about my recovery. I had to put my procedure on my last week so I left Korea the day after I had my stitched taken out. I went to Dr. Jung's in Seoul at Shimmian. I am now home and I still need more time to recover and I must avoid people and work right now because I look kind of scary with the bruising and the swelling. Plus, I feel like I look really obvious. Any encouragement would be awesome! Also, I can share my experience, but I am shy about my before after pics.

Thanks !!

Hi mexikorn,

How is your recovery? How many day is it after the surgery? I am also planning to get my surgery done in in Korea by Dr Jung and most likely i will go at winter, so i hope to know about your experience. Have your surgery been a week? I heard that the bruising and swelling will be subside by 1-2 weeks time. I wish you speedy recovery and achieve a beautiful face! May i know are you a chinese or westerner? Is this your primary or revision surgery? Could you share with us more about your experience with Dr Jung? Your experience will be really important and precious to people like me that need to find out more of the doctor that we are going to. And how do you think now your nose look like? Are you happy with it? And how much is the cost? Did you use rib cartilage or? Pardon me with so many question. ^^""

Hi Mexikorn,
I wouldn't worry at this point if i were you.... the initial swelling in the first few weeks really does obscure the final results. I remember when i had my rhino earlier this year at about 9 days post op I didn't even want to go home because the swelling made me look like i had something done. I didn't really look like myself. I hid out for a few days at a nearby motel 6 until i looked more presentable. Trust me, I know how frustrating the swelling is... but it does improve with time. Everyone heals differently and so you shouldn't worry. I began to look like myself again after the initial 3-4 week postop period. After another month or two, i could barely notice the changes that were undergone. One of the girls I was in contact with also experienced the same thing, with her starting to look better at around 3-4 weeks. Hope this helps. Good luck with your recovery!
