$550 for your own rib? Are you sure it's not donor rib? I agree with the long surgeries and I think that girl's review was probably right, that he does multiple at the same time. It doesn't make sense to me that other docs can do 3-4 noses a day, albeit cheaper in total cost they end up making more than VIP. So why would VIP just do one surgery that is more involved and to get less money on top of it?

Bad reviews because the surgeon didn't give the result a patient was looking for would not discourage me from going to a clinic. One bad review, translated, from someone who had a bad experience would not discourage me from going to a clinic. One bad review from someone I knew, or a forum member that posted over several months and didn't sound crazy that the clinic/surgeon ignored serious problems and refuses to help after getting a bad result especially when other surgeons refuse to touch my nose - I would think twice about going to that surgeon. This doesn't sound like VIP though, aren't there several forum members that have gone back to get issues with their rhinoplasty taken care of and Dr. Lee has done that?

Yeah, definitely your own rib, he was showing me where you take it from. He doesn't like donor ribs, silicon, etc. he is shocked that Korea would have such a difference in price in rib and non-rib actually.

I think she's also upset that the doctor altered the internal structure of the nose so much that the nose itself is unstable and other doctors are unwilling to do revisions on it.

also, she's upset that instead of focusing on one patient at at time, the doctor performed multiple surgeries at one time. (he actually did that for me too but i didn't think too much of it until i read this post... i guess it would've been much much better if he stayed focused on me rather than going back and fourth between me and another person).

i'm more than concerned about what i'll do if i need a revision (and most likely i'll have to have one) and i decide not to go back to vip

besides the post by expat, i've also heard of doctors in korea not wanting to do revisions on dr.lee's noses for one reason or another

I THINK she probably met around 10 others during her year of waiting for the side effects of rib rhinoplasty to diminish and by posting her story on the naver forum... because, you're right, I don't think she would've gone to that place if she knew 10 people at the time of her surgery who were not happy with their results.

That too was a concerned of mine . Say like in 5 to 10 years and i need a revision on my rib rhino and Dr. Lee is not around where would i find a rib specialist since it seems that most Korean doctors only specialized in Goretex or Silicone. i still don't understand why most Korean doctors won't do revision cases on Dr. Lee 's patient ? i mean i know VIP does produced dramatic results in most patients which is why i want to do my surgery at VIP. Can anyone care to elaborate why most doctors in Korea won't do revision case on Dr. Lee's nose job. if it is true my guessing is that most Korean doctors don't have the experienced with rib rhinoplasty and rather not mess with it.

I think, and it's just my impression, that doing revisions takes a lot of confidence in being able to handle any situation that presents itself. You really don't know what's under the hood until you open the person up, and I don't hear of too many people getting opened up and then the doc saying "oops, no sorry, can't do it". So, you're going to charge a lot and then if you screw up the revision, now it's your problem.

I'm reading this book called revision rhinoplasty, it's very interesting with over 700 pictures. Some people's noses look ok with only slight issue visible on the surface but the intra op photo is messed up (at least according to the caption). Some people's pre-ops are just really really messed up. Silicone extrusion, infection, bridge collapse, crazy stuff.

In the case you described I bet you could find SOMEONE who would work on you since going back to the original doc is not an option. A lot of docs don't like to work on other docs work. Heck, even when I had braces I tried to switch othodontitsts and the guy was very hesitant.

Doctors don't especifically have a problem revising Dr Lee's work. The problem i think was that hers was probably a special case. I know someone who just got the bridge/strut/paranasal rib removed by another doctor. In general, revisions are better done by the same doctor bc he/she know what was done the first time. However, other doctors can do it too. They'll just need to examine your nose more during the surgery.

Yes! Do you know of any experienced salons in OC? I think I will have to go to little Tokyo or Koreatown unless I find a local place

Do you have a digi perm yourself? I like the Gisele Bundchen hairstyle when I go out but Idk if it's worth it to perm and have this everyday. Does it add volume on an everyday basis, without having to flip over and blowdry? Is it weird not having to blowdry your hair? I'm very meticulous when it comes to my hair.. I don't know if I can handle having it airdry (it takes hours) and waiting for the final outcome... Can it survive ocean swims? Laps in the pool? Is it annoying to have curly hair all the time? So many questions, lol!

hmmm, had only heard silicon turns blue when cold.. RIB turns blue??? hmm anyone knows why?

probably because the graft was too large and was stretching the surrounding skin to the point that it was hard for the blood supply to reach that area (espcially when cold).
