God, all this fuss about VIP, some of which seems perfectly valid, makes me not want to go see them in the future. Who wants to go to a place that is so casual about making chances that may or may not be necessary on a whim? If I'm going somewhere, I want the surgeon to study my face for some time, discuss the technical aspects with me and explain his artistic point of view. Changing features on one's face shouldn't be a decision made in just 10 or 15 minutes. Even the best doctor should need TIME to decide what needs to be done or not.

Now I'm really wondering if rib is still the best route to go for a radix/bridge graft. Plus, I need to fix my uneven eyelids (drooping on one side) as well, which VIP said they could also do (again, not sure if they're the "expert" for eyelids). This whole "VIP may not be the best" deal is just complicating the whole thing.

I wish I had the resources and connections to just go somewhere and get it done without worrying my head off. I suppose that's the sort of "angle" VIP is trying to bank on: an all inclusive surgery tour. I'm very neutral with VIP, but maybe that's because I'm not sure who else in Korea "specializes" in auto-tissues, so I have to put my faith into VIP. Korea is like this foreign land with bundle full of surgeons and opportunities, but without knowing the language or knowing anyone would can guide me, I'm forced to just trust the first English-speaking clinic I see.

tonyjim, i guess that y u have to take time to do research b4 jump to have surgery with one clinic that u seen good review on the internet, i meant it good to other but doesnt meant it a good place for u, everybody have diff taste of beauty and prefer diff material, i almost base on the review and have set my surgery day after 2 days arrive korea with VIP, but now i think i will have to go and do as much consultation as i can b4 pick the rit clinic, if u ok with silicon or gore-tex and not really crazy about the auto-tissues then u have so many choice out there, lots of famous clinic and well knw by korean are mention here in the forum like Wonjin, Dream, Grand, Banobagi, Migo, Regen, 101, April 31, ect.....

here is what i mean in case you still dont get it: two seperate issues, i only disputed one of them, as i've said many time now. the reason i keep going on about necessity is because i'm trying to get the point across that i am only arguing that specific point. i never said that you were wrong when you said joann has a lot of influence.

yes, we all know too well that there are a lot of doctors who perform unnecessary procedures on patients out of patient's request. However, the thing that is alarming here is the office manager is selling/proposing unnecessary procedures and not because of the patient's request.

again with the fascia, let's say you were jesse00, i'm sure you would hope the surgeon uses his best judgement so that it minimizes scarring/trauma to your body.

actually, if i were to have silicone, i know that i would want fascia wrapped around it because i would be afraid of contraction (its a fact that a healthy person's body forms scar tissue capsules around foreign materials like silicone. the only thing that is uncertain is how long this capsule will last before contraction or extrusion occurs. some people never have with contraction or extrusion, but i would want fascia anyway, just in case.
so while i wouldn't need the fascia, it would still be beneficial. and you've yet to dispute anything i've said about necessity vs benefit earlier

and you still dont seem to get it. i said i only disputed one thing, i didn't dispute the scar issue. i was disputing the issue of necessity, which you repeatedly brought up:

So if you state that fascia is not necessary, then why would he agree to do it knowing that in her case, it wasn't necessary?​

regarding the scar, i said: "i agree that he should have told her about the large scar during the consultation, and idk why it was so large."
what should have happened is she should have been told how big the scar would be and let her decide on fascia or not. idk if he told her or not. but i never disagreed about the scar. i've said it many times: i only disagreed with one thing.



How would you feel if you end up with a 5inch scar unneccessarily just because the doctor was too weak to stand up to his own decision and was influenced/intimidated by an office manager whose best interest is money to decide treatment for you.

if it is the case that jesse00 didn't need fascia, he should have stood his ground and said no, you don't need it. why say you don't need fascia and then turn around and say oh joann proposed it? ok, i'll do it. something's very wrong with this picture.
what you are implying here is that dr lee would adamantly decide against fascia if it werent for joann. again, dr lee said it wasnt necessary. but he didnt say that he wouldnt do it (you are pretty much putting words into his mouth when you say that he wouldnt). he came into the operating room with the intention of using fascia, and fascia is a beneficial accessory to silicone. it was a remark that fascia wasnt necessary, but somehow you've drawn the conclusion that he would think its a bad idea to use fascia. and this is why i was talking about necesity earlier. you dont seem to get the difference between necessity and benefit. its not necesary to use fascia, but it is beneficial.
and when he said that it wasnt necessary to use fascia, imo it is beneficial. the only problem i see is that she wasnt told how large the scar would be

the entire basis of your argument relies on this equivalency:
dr lee thinks its not necessary = dr lee would not do it because he doesnt think it is beneficial (and was "intimidated" into doing it by the consultant).
well your premise is false, it might not be necessary, but that is not equivalent to it not being beneficial. so i can conclude (and feel free to disagree, but please do it without putting words into people mouths) that dr lee wasnt forced/coerced/intimidated into using fascia. and i wont hold it against him for performing unnecessary procedures that are beneficial


regarding the lipo, unless we know why dr lee said angleplane shouldnt do the lipo, we really cant draw any conclusions. if it was for health reasons, and dr lee did it anyway, i would agree with you that he shouldnt have. but if it was because he didnt think it was necessary aesthetically, and if angleplane opted for it, then i dont see anything wrong with that.

anyway, the points i made earlier remain undisputed by you.

you'll notice that i didnt argue that point at all. i agree that joann has a large influence on decisions. i was arguing something else; jenstar was making a big fuss about the 'necessity' of fascia and liposuction.



its not that i cant accept bad reviews. there have been several, and i have accepted them as they are. i only point out things that i disagree with. am i not allowed to disagree that necessity is not an issue when it comes to judging the ability and ethics of plastic surgeons?
because i would find it extremely ironic



sometimes i feel like i'm not allowed to disagree with anyone who says bad things about vip, even when i am very clear about which parts i disagree with and state my case intelligibly.
i have only ever pointed out things that i think are factually incorrect, or which i think are blown out of proportion (ie. plastic surgeons and necessity)

and i dont think anyone here would hold it against a plastic surgeon who performs operations which are not necessary, since nose jobs are rarely necessary

i don't think thats a realistic attitude about plastic surgery. nobody who is realistic about surgery will claim that any one surgeon is "the best." because all accomplished surgeons have had good cases and bad cases.
you can seperate surgeons into good vs bad (judging by their overall satisfaction rate) but not "the best." i mean, if you had access to the accurate statistics (which nobody does) of the satisfaction rate for every single surgeon, and find the surgeon with the highest satisfaction rate, that still wouldnt account for the difference between their patients. maybe one set of patients had a tendency to prefer larger noses; another set prefered smaller, curved noses; another prefered subtle results that look completely natural; and yet another set prefered the defined, high, silicone look that BK clinic seems to be fond of.

so yes, VIP is not "the best," but neither is any other clinic. you shouldn't be concerned about finding the best clinic, but rather, a clinic that can give you the result you want.

i didnt go to vip because i thought that they are the best clinic. i went because i knew i needed rib cartilage to give me the amount of augmentation that i wanted.

now that i think about it, this is probably why so many ppl are disatisfied with their results lately. they think VIP is "the best" and go there to request rib cartilage even though they only wanted a 2mm augmentation on a primary rhinoplasty.

and moves more naturally. A consultant from one of the clinics I visited in Korea allowed me to feel her nose and it felt really soft! She was able to move her nose tip from side to side and upwards as well.

Septal+ear tip will give you more structure and definition but your tip will be significantly stiffer.

It sounds like you want a pretty dramatic change and if so, ear cartilage alone may not be enough to give you what you need. I have septal+ear and my tip is really stiff I can move my tip side to side pretty well and i can even push it upwards a tiiiiiny bit and in most cases stiffness doesn't bother me. The downside that ive noticed so far is kissing and snuggling. I feel really self conscious whenever I jab other people in the face. And I'm not just talking about heavy duty making out but even giving little pecks on family member's cheek gets me paranoid :/

I'm confused....you're talking about the member taeyang? Where is here? In Australia?

Your pics look really good! The nose and chin really made a difference to the face, it makes you look more refreshed and energetic.

Btw the pic of you w two guys, the one in the middle, what ethinicity is he? Is he mixed?

edit: forgot to ask, did you notice any changes to your lips or smile? I'm asking cus some of the members here said their lips and smiles changed after having nose surgery.
