@CindyEatsWorld: Sorry to hear about your experience. In my opinion, plastic surgery can be quite emotional in regards to the recovery and the anxiety of the final results. I think your original nose looks great. I can see why you wanted just a tip plasty because from the frontal view, it looks like your bridge does have height. I'm guessing you wanted more definition for your tip. I agree with Schrodinger that your tip does look more bulbous but it does look swollen as well. I'm wondering why your surgeon used both septal and ear cartilage for your tip.

I would definitely keep in contact with your clinic and if possible, I would consult with other surgeons just to ask them for any input.

Haha yeah, it actually looks not super horrible in person or even with my whole face ~ it's swollen for sure la, the tip is still rock hard. >.< I guess I chose really bad pics because I wanted to prove a point back then or smthing ^.^; oh I think Dr.Lee used septal and ear cartilage to define my tip, and since I didnt want anything raised rib wasnt nessesary.
Joann just emailed me a list of the procedures they did if anyone is interested :
Septal and Ear cartilage rhinoplasty
Septal deviation correction
Muscle reduce
Paranasal augmentation
Alar base reduction
Nose bone reduce -Osteotomy

She said to be patient and it's swollen a lot since I have really thick skin and natural cartilage tend to swell more. And they will do revision for free if i'm still unhappy with it after the swelling has gone.

but if anyone has the same type of nose as me or something and wanna see the result from vip better I can email you better pictures not just cropped ones ^_^ just really wish I can shoot a liter of steroids into my tip and get the swelling done with sigh =.=;

have u asked vip if u could get a steroid injection? alot of surgeons will do it if the swelling is quite bad. its also good in preventing scar tissue formation.

Sorry that I went MIA after asking a few questions>< Didn't think I was going to go ahead with the nose job after some discouragement from my family members, so I kind of put the idea aside until I had really bad "flashbacks from my past which were about my looks" so I kind of got depressed and rushed and went ahead with it LOL okay bad idea I know-_-

But well I'm 7 weeks post-op now and my nose is looking quite satisfactory to me so I guess I can say that I'm pretty happy with how the nose job went(fingers crossed) After all, it's only going to get better from now right?

So anyway I thought that I should do the right thing by contributing to this forum too after you guys were so helpful when I was looking for answers in this forum, so here I am!

Just some info about my nose:
- Had a short, stubby, fat and flat(no bridge at all) nose before surgery
- Requested for a nose similar to Angelababy's but doc said it was too high for me.
- Requested for a lower version of Angelababy's nose and he said it was possible.
- Had a 3mm silicone implant put in
- With tip plasty + ear cartilage graft
- Looked like a bird for 3 weeks
- Swelling gradually went down after that
- Nose looks satisfactory to me now at 7 weeks (although it looks nothing like Angelababy's nose-_- but I guess it suits my face so I'm happy with it)

So far I've received quite positive feedback on my nose from people who knew I had it done, and people who don't know can't tell that I had it done but I had a friend(she didn't know I had my nose done) who asked if I did my eyes(?) because they looked bigger. I guess they have become more "in focus" on my face because of my nose, if you get what I mean.

Would gladly share my b&a pictures with anyone who's interested in getting a nose job with a silicone implant, feel free to ask me any questions regarding my nose job too

hello im glad to hear u like ure results im hoping that rhinoplasty will make my eyes be the main focus of my face. although im not getting a nose job with silicone i would still love to see ure results. what clinic did u go to?

I think my tip can definitely be a wee bit smaller but I think the swelling did go down a teeny bit. I ask my sister almost everyday about how my nose looks (she lives with me). She said that from a frontal view, she can tell my bridge is higher but not too hight. As for my tip, there's not too much change from my original nose. She said the tip is a bit pointer and that's about it. I wish it looked a little bit smaller but I'm going to give it a bit more time. What's your email address?

I know 5 weeks sounds like a long time but it's really not. Everyone heals at a different pace. I had corrective jaw surgery this past summer and my friend also had the same surgery a few years ago. According to her, my 2 months post op was comparable to her 4 months post op. Maybe it was because I was very active ie. I exercised, ran, etc. to help with the swelling and she told me all she did was sit around. Like I mentioned before, if you're really distressed I would definitely go get it checked out if you have that option. It will give you some answers because right now, you're not really sure what is going on. Feel better and keep us updated

Hi AK212, Thanks for your message! I can see some improvement on my face recently. So, I'm a bit relief now except my NJ attracted a lot of attraction from my family members and relatives which made me feel extremely uncomfortable

I don't stay in Singapore. But going there isn't that far and difficult for me. I thought I could be paranoid now. So, I think I should give it a bit more time. Perhaps give myself 2 months to decide if I really need to go down to Singapore.

Hi Richbaby: it's okay to feel anxious & go through the post rhinoplasty remorse of uncertainty. I couldn't help but feel panicked when I read CindyEatsWorld's post/complaints & saw her pics. However, I thought her tip was nice but may need more time to heal. Because my nose bulb is smaller than some & thin skinned (especially at the tip where my L silicone implant tip was becoming apparent) I had fascia & ear cartilage to help build the foundation of the tip since I wanted a certain amount of projection to go along with my paranasals.

Yesterday, at 4 days post op, Joanne said it looks good but still very swollen. You can imagine soon after that & reading/seeing Cindy's pics/post made me sooooo anxious I couldn't sleep. Then again, I was also PMSing, so negative thoughts, self doubt, & insecurities come floating up without warning & fill my thoughts & manipulate my emotions without mercy. Thoughts of whether others will approve or disapprove..my boyfriend, family, friends? Ugliness? I had to take a deep breath & reminded myself of my promise to be patient & that I did not go through with the revision for other people's opinion. This will only strengthen my insecurities & lower self esteem. I waited over a year before choosing Dr. Lee because after seeing other patients results, I'm confident in his ability to execute the procedures in a result that I will be very happy with.

I too smile & laugh a lot. I was always complimented on my smile, but the paranasal implants hasn't stopped me. I just smile/laugh differently, smaller. ; ) I'm sure that will change.

I accepted before hand that the procedures chosen will result in a very different face based on other patients results. I wouldn't have gone through with it if I wasn't ready to look different. I'll have to get used to my new face, new smiles, new expressions, new profile. But one thing all of us has to remember, no matter what we do to our physical being as it is always subject to changes..aging, accidents, surgeries, who we are in heart will never change.

Lift your head up Richbaby & smile. You're beautiful & you know this. Be patient. Revisions are an option but don't think too far ahead when you're still at the early stages of healing. I expect to heal slowly. I still have my cast on & can't see what my nose looks like. I feel the hardness & imagine it looking like a potato with all the swelling. I'm a firm believer that if you believe it...it will be. So instead of imagining a potato, I imagine a beautiful nose when the swelling goes down. Fill your thoughts with positivity & remove the doubts -- it's toxic. We're all beautiful butterflies going through the early metamorphosis, cocooned, waiting for the final results.

Sorry for the long response & for any typos or bad grammar. I now have to leave for my nose cleaning. Oh what fun to be had!!! Oy yoy yoy...

You are right. I have been thinking if those who are close to me approve or disapprove on my new look. I used to have L-shape silicone too and it made minimal change on my face because the tip wasn't that big (i think you know what I meant). The silicone was placed too high at my bridge, but i can still use spec to cover it. Still, it attracted attention. But this time, my surgeon did a tiplasty for me by using ear cartilage which made my nose bigger and longer than before. With the paranasal augmentation that caused me couldn't smile, I guess my face changed quite a bit. This created a lot more attention than I expected. Some even made negative comments which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Then, I start to recap my original intention of doing it and my urge of getting a higher nose. Now, I just have to stay positive, patient and pray for the best. Thanks for keeping me motivated!

I am now 4 weeks op and the swelling is down one day then up another.I goggled pictures of the amount of swelling ur nose will encounter and it's been reassuring. I saw drastic difference of this patient who had her nose done. The 2 weeks- 3months-1 year looks very different. By one year her nose was more defined. I've had some good days and some bad but when it's bad, it's really bad but just hold on cuz when it comes to the nose patience is the only thing both of us can do. Good luck!

did your clinic give you any painkillers? it should be okay to take those. i know that some oral numbing gels contain sugar which probably isn't good to put on a wound, so maybe get an ingredient list for some of them, send them to your surgeon (or ask a family doctor) and ask if it is okay. it might not be okay to take tylenol or such, because it thins the blood. ask the doctor if he thinks its okay. i think you are already a few weeks post op, so he might approve of the gels or tylenol.

i personally thought that the recovery from the paranasals was pretty easy, but i guess i am biased because i had a rib nose job and sliding genioplasty at the same time. so the pain during recovery from just the paranasals was minimal for me. but if you get it redone, i think the recovery would probably be similar to the first time. if you get the implant removed,theoreticaclly the angle of your lip should become sharper again so that it projects outwards instead of downwards, which should theoretically make your lip look less long. you'd have to ask your surgeon though/ and you'd probably still have to deal with the swelling and bruising if you are prone to that.

btw, do you have a columellar strut? that might affect your smile

Hi Kain, I guess I did columellar strut after googling it I can also feel my upper lip is in tense condition when I move my lips. So, I guess the answer is yes.

Singapore girls! I am coming home and want to do my hair back home. Can someone please please tell me which are the stylists to go to for a perm (digital) and colour (highlights) and a decent cut? I used to go to Kimage at Plaza Singapura but that was a few years back. Might go back there again but which stylist this time? Or might try someplace new! I recall it costs a loooot to do a rebonding then and a cut. Anywhere cheaper?
