kain
yes, i remember it was dr wang i just found out by google that he has an english sitehttp://www.wangmd.cn/html/eng/index.htmhttp://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=auto&tl==en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wangmd.cn%2Flongbi-xiufu%2F2009-1846.html i'm really interested in finding out more about dr wang. i wish ppl would post reviews about him he charges about 5k usd for rib cartilage (bridge and tip-work), not including alarplasty or other surgeries that you might require i also heard from somebody (by pm) that dr le in baltimore also knows how to do rib noses that can move. i could only find one b&a of an asian patient thoughhttp://messageboards.makemeheal.com/rhinoplasty/thomas-the-deed-has-been-done-t148915.html what do you guys think? drillkid122
hey kain, i just saw ur B&A photos. What a drastic change! especially the nose part. I am a guy and i have pretty short nose (no bridge). Is it possible to achieve that high bridge like urs with goretex ??

sweetheart2012
Hi Kain - I'm kind of new here. How do I see your B&A pictures? Thanks!
kain
i think you can get a high bridge using goretex or silicone. but whether you can get a high tip or not (using ear and septal cartilage) depends a lot on your original nose. you should consult with a surgeon and send him pics of your nose. waterskin
122, I used to have upturn and short nose. consult 3 surgeon, all suggest is using rib. Goretex can achieve the length you needs but it still depend the structure of your nose. For me, foreign material is sensitive to me so I used my own rib. Currently so far so good. tip of the nose can move left and right but can't really do the piggy-nose. And it more natural. silicone is not really advised. As I tends to shift and easily infection. Many case of revision are silicone patient. You really need to consult the surgeon and send them your photos. That will get a clearer understanding of your needs. Most importantly the surgeon is skillful and experienced.

kain
my nose can't move side to side (only by about a few mm) for vip and shimmian clinic, they both use the structure shown in the pic below if you look at this pic by dr jung, the first pic on the right (it is incorrectly labelled, the one on the right is actually the rib cartilage one. also, they don't show the columellar strut but you can easily find pics of those online)http://nosesm1212.cafe24.com/data/file/E02_1_1/3717455208_XDpwlqkW_03_ECA7A7EC9D80ECBD94.jpg you can see that they basically make a tent out of your nose. both vip and shimmian use this technique very commonly, your nose will feel stiff and hard. dr wang must use a different technique where he doesn't use a bridge implant that extends from the bridge into the tip. he uses seperate pieces for the bridge and tip. so the tip can move and is flexible. i can't imagine that it is soft, since the patients still have rib cartilage in the tip. but it is definitely flexible as seen in his videos. basically, i think dr wang uses rib cartilage as if it was an i-shaped silicone implant, and uses rib in the tip as well. but this is all conjecture as he hasn't published his technique afaik
