titi2210
Sassygrl! Forgot to tell you my doctor he didn't make my tip up by1.5 mm like I want but he used septal cartilage in the collumella to height also he put a lot of ear cartilage on top of the tip so alltogether he had made my tip look like a cloud man. So I can't stand it after 2 wks od post op I ask him to remove completely to get back to my original shape. Now is 8 days I can only see 50% of my nose back as its lower but the shape of the tip and nostril still very different from it pre op.

floralista
Hey Via~ BB is huge and they have specialists in every area. I've been there a few times, once to translate for a lady with grave's disease. Obviously, her case was on the more difficult side because of her medical issues, but from what I saw the doctor did a good job. I feel like he would be just as good if not better with your average eyejob. I'm not sure if BB has translators but it's really big so I would assume someone speaks English. I think your best bet is to just call, they are usually pretty slow with email.

jamnyc
In most cases doctors will leave part of the rib (cartilage) intact along with synovial membrane so that there is opportunity for regrowth (varying levels). After you get beyond the risks of the actual rib harvesting, there is very little compromise to the integrity of ribcage. Obviously a personal decision what material you want to use...so more of an fyi.
blahnose
HI DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT DAVIS NGUYEN OF BEVERLY HILLS? Thanks
jamnyc
I'm sorry for your situation... rhinoplasties can be very emotionally exhausting. I've had two. I'm not trying to sound negative but I think you should prepare yourself that your nose may not return to 100% pre-surgery. There is no way you can just put in cartilage, shape it and suture it in place without some change/damage to primary tissue. Also, after two weeks the new cartilage may have started to develop blood supply and healed to "old" cartilage. There probably was some cutting to remove that. Cartilage is fibrous and often heals irregulary which is why your nose feels hard. Who is your doctor? I think he is super irresponsible if he is telling you nose will completely go back to the way it was. That being said, you've had two surgeries in three weeks (!)..your nose has gone through alot and you really need more than a week (more like a month) to judge. It's difficult but try not to obsess and stare in the mirror... you will just upset yourself more and right now there is nothing you can do but let yourself heal. In the end, if you are still unhappy there is the option of getting a revision done and giving the surgeon a picture of your nose from before as a guide. titi2210
Thanks jamnyc! I'm pretty sure that the cartilage have not bond to the tip cartilage yet as my ps didn't tape or put anything on my tip after operation also while he took it out I he gave me the mirror so I can see how he removed and to make sure by my eyes there are non of grafts left in the tip. I really dun wanna take another revision as the time waiting to see the result is traumatising. How can you managed with your 2 operation ? And why you had the revision ? shinangel
I just wanted to say that I consulted 2 surgeons in Belgium some time ago, and neither of them found movetex difficult to remove. Also, dr. Hsu (Kaohsiung) seems to be quite familiar with goretex removal, judging from his before and after pics. So I believe you are right in thinking that if some surgeons claim that goretex is difficult to remove, it is because they have no experience with it themselves. kain
i'd be open to that. my flight will be on april 23 or 24 and i will stay for about a week or more
kain
yeah. it was really confusing at first but after i began to inspect the sources the pattern was quite apparent: only patients and surgeons who have had no experience with goretex kept making that claim. the patients probably got it from the surgeons they consulted while the surgeons were trying to convince the patient to go with silicone because it is so much easier for the surgeon to use silicone
