The nose will deswell at different parts at a time. Don't think about it too much, just keep yourself busy and in a few months your nose will be even. Idk if you are a drinker, but I find that when I have a few, my nose will swell up for a day or two.

My hubby asked me tonight, he said what is wrong with an asian nose? He think mine is adorable, I think he actually said " cute as button" and that of course just set me off. But he actually got me thinking, what is wrong with an asian nose? I actually think some people are pretty even without a high profile or tip. Their face ( as a whole) looks good and maybe with a higher bridge they would like bad! I wonder, do we all seek to change our nose because of our own insecurity or the our ideal of beauty? Maybe it is just balance. The caucasians want to shave off their big noses and while asians want to built up their noses...
My hubby reminded me that the beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Which is probably true but I can't help but to want be even more beautiful in his eyes.
So I am amazed how many of you with so much courage flew to Korea ( some don't even speak the language) to get things done! I have to say, I am envious of your bravery! So how does the web consultation work? do I speak to them thru skype and is there a translator?

The doctor cut my septi muscle, he told me so but he said this would not affect my smile at all as the muscle is not responsible for the movement of the upper lip. I hope this will improve with time but one thing I am sure that would never improve is the frozen nose. My nose now is too small, straight and defined which looks plastic and I hate it. When I smile, the nose looks like a straight stick right in the middle of my face, from bridge to tip while my nostrils still flare out. I don't know how to describe but it look unnatural. I liked my nose right after the cast being removed when it was still swollen, it was bigger and more like my own nose.

Now all I want is getting my old nose back and forget about plastic surgery forever but I am so worried that it is not possible, the nose may get collapsed or deformed.


I know this was posted a while ago.... Did you ever get it removed or did anyone respond with ever had everything removed? That's my plan at month 3 and I am working with my original PS to removed everything since he is the best person who knows what he did.
I am really interested in collecting these experiences from everyone and create an all you need to know before you go under knife web site or something.... I know I wish I discovered this forum before I went under knife. It would of save me lots of pain (mentally and physically ) and appreciate what God has created us to be. Honestly... No matter what, nothing beats nature. What a hard way to learn this lesson!
Also, for the lip... Mine is finally coming back. I am almost 4 weeks, finally able to move my uppernlip to show my teeth! But my PS assured me it will be back to normal smile.

Hi welna, did you have rib implant and tip? I am 2 days away from 1 month ...and I am sorry, it's freaking huge, bridge is freaking scary tall, and most of all, uncomfortable as hell!
My eyes changed and changed the way I look. It's funny, if I cover my tall bridge, I feel so much better! My PS said it's about 3mm.... Is this normal? God bless his heart... He is nice enough to see me each week to work thru this process with me. I am counting down the days when I can remove everything and look more like myself!

zygoma reduction, mandibular surgery or v-line surgery, sliding genioplasty/chin implant/fat graft on the chin, fat graft on the forehead, possibly fat grafting or fillers to her cheeks (they look fuller than before), nose job, blepharoplasty, epicanthalplasty, and some surgery on her lower eyelid (they removed the eye bags, and performed 'love band surgery' which gives her those prominent lines under her eye)

edit: her eyes look longer as well. that was probably achieved by a 'lateral canthalplasty'

I can understand exactly how u feel as all of us wanna look good after surgery.But it isn't an instant "POOF" "TADAA" thingy.
Perhaps u've already got a nice height to begin with.so 3mm might look different for different ppl . I had full rib bridge n tip. It is normal to look and feel this way.I know what I was gonna expect to see after surgery which is a huge n swollen nose but as I said I was ready for it. Don't freak out . You'll be fine gal Pls for those considering ps pls read through this tread for what u gonna expect during first few mths if u choose rib..Good luck everyone no matter what implant or which doc u've chosen .

Yo! Welcome back! Thanks, dear. Unlike others, i just wish dat my bridge would be higher. The bridge is very low compared to others now.. Quite sad looking at it as I was the only one with a low bridge there and I do not want to inject any filler as suggested by JoAnn.. :cry:

I went to another PS and he told me I am extremely depressed and should seek help ( which I am). The panick attack comes and goes... and you feel like you just don't know how to face life again.
The craziest thing is, every doctor I went to told me my current surgeon did a great job and I am just going thru the "buyer remorse" phase... I explained that this is beyond that and my life has been severely impacted due to this damn nose job! My surgeon has been great... I see him once a week or even more than once a week when I need to talk to him. I am blessed that my surgeon cared about my well being and ask to see me every week... this is more than I can ask for because, he can be a jerk and do nothing. He told me removing the implant and tip right now would do more harm than good. He strongly recommend to wait for 3 months at least. So we will work thru this for next 2 months and a week! My surgeon said he didn't change too much of my nose anatamy and he is confident that we can get my nose back to very close to the natural state. I will continue to pray.
How do I get in contact with Angleplane? Is she still active on the site? I am so sorry to hear she has to go thru many surgeries to get the rib graft out? Thats horrible... did she ever get her nose back at least?
I got my surgery in NYC which turned out to be a blessing... otherwise I wouldn't know what to do! I couldn't afford to fly from NY to Korea so many times. Inaddition, having the same doctor to remove the rib implant and tip seem to make the most sense.

If you don't mind me asking... what did you remove ? and how long did you wait until you decided to remove it.

I wish no one ever have to go thru what we have to go thru. So.. people, who are VERY sure.. should go for it... but really I still think Rib option should be for reconstruction not for rhinoplasty.. its too invasive of procedure.

You are luckier than me that you have an ethical surgeon who cares about your well-being. My surgeon is a jerk, he messed up my nose and didn't care at all. After the surgery, there was no way for me to speak to him to ask about my nose. I called him about 10 times and his staff always said that he's busy, he didn't have time to answer me, they asked me to send emails to the clinic email address and their manager would reply. On one email, they told me that it's impossible for me to go back to the original state and if I wanted to remove everything, there was chance that my nose would collapse. After hearing that, I just want to die. I had to go to another doctor and paid more than what I paid for the first nose job to get everything removed. Although my nose didn't collapse, it's ugly now. I have a pinched and asymmmetric tip, which is the result of the first surgery. My breathing, which was perfect before surgery, is now worse as they did some osteotomy to narrow my nose bone, which I insisted that I didn't want to...I am so depressed because I know there is no way I can fix this, I have to live with this my whole life because I am 100% sure that I would never want to put anything in my nose anymore. I simply cannot stand a fake nose. I had septal + ear cartilage in the tip and permacol in the bridge removed after 1.5 months. I instantly felt better after my nose being free from all this stuff.
If your surgeon is confident that he can give you back you natural nose then I would not worry much. It's a good idea to wait for sometime more to see if it's better. If not, you still can get it back to similar state.
I am praying that God will help us and nobody would have to go through what we have been through. I know there are a lot of people who extremely regret their nose job and want to remove everything like what I did but they never post on here, they just contact each other by pm, so when we come to the forum we see more happy people, which gives us an illusion that rhinoplasty is not a big deal and you would be more beautiful after that. But everyone, please be prepared that rhinoplasty can be a disaster as well ...

I remember before my nose job, I read several posts asking about making piggy nose after rhinoplasty and I thought it's not a big deal as I never made piggy nose anyway. However, after my surgery, I sat with some friends and they unintentionally played with their nose tips. I looked at them and felt so jealous, I felt like I was a disabled person as I could not do something that a normal person can do, and so I decided that by all means, I had to get back my natural nose.

Hi winterntht, I pray that you will find peace and love this nose as your own! I know its too late to say this but this you get different opinions before you removed it? Right now, other than my current surgeon, I have been going to see different PS to get 2nd opinions. So far, 3 PS had said it can be changed back ( based on the ops report) but to be the must sure, my current PS is the key as he was the one who did everything. I also had osteotomy to narrow my nose bone in order to support the rib on my bridge .... you mentioned you are having breathing issues? I think this is serious!! One thing about the look of your nose but another thing is to have breathing issue for the rest of your life! I always believe health comes first and the cosmetic part always can be figure out with a good PS.
May I ask where did you remove the implant and tip? Was it in Korea? Was it open or closed Revision?
I asked my PS about my nose collapsing if we remove the rib on the tip... he said no. He said with Osteotomy, my nose will just look narrower than before... which my bridge was very flat.. he doubt anyone would notice it but I need to ask him more questions. I still got at least 2 more months to go before he would even let me really think of going into OR.
I don't trust any doctor blindly anymore. I now believe I have every right to know what he/she is plannig to do with my nose or any part of my body. This is my right! There are so many lessons learned in this process... I am no longer naive and i will keep on going to consultations to get more opinions. However, I am very blessed my surgeon is a good person who promise to work with me every step of the way. He said he didn't change much on my natural nose ( I thank God every day for that). Nevertheless, my nose will not look the same as birth nose, but certainly the goal here is to aim to be very close. I only have faith in the Lord ... and do as much research as I can.
May I ask how your nose was like before?
I really want to put a website together warn those out there... its always so exciting to see the pictures of people who got everything done and they look really good ( granted, I'll give you that... everyone gets tempted) but no one mentions the psychological impact to a person and certinly no one ever mention my nose would be a hard as a damn rock and heavy as this! I love to be beautiful but everything has its price and this is not something I was prepare to pay.
If you or anyone is interested, please let me know... I truly believe all the journey shoud be shared.... our journys are unique and will help others too.
One thing I thank God for His blessing is we are all alive... the truth of it, everytime we get under the knife... we just don't know.
So people, THINK THINK THINK... prepare, prepare, prepare.... PS is not something you want any surprise.

How different does your nose look now to pre-ops? Did your bridge go back and now its the tip that looks different? Is it still stiff? How long ago was everything removed? Sometimes it take a while to heal especially after revision and it was so close to each other.
You may think this advice is silly, but don't give up. your nose may heal and eventually get back close to the normal state as possible. Have you ever asked about to widen your nose bone to where it was?

Have anyone else experience nose skin peeling and skin very dry? I don't know why but my nose skin is so dry that is been peeling ? Is it that the skin is stretched so much?

I had exactly the same problem but don't worry, after sometime the skin will be back to normal. For me, it took 6 weeks for the skin to stop peeling.
