momof3boyz Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Congrats on your treatments and dont panic!!! Swelling can be very uneven esp. for the first 2 weeks. I just got my lips done yesterday and they look huge. Probably 4x the size of yours..lol. But i still had some juvederm in them to begin plus i wanted them bigger but i am not worried at all because i know over the week they will go down alot. I have no brusing but I did not bruise last time either. To me your lips do not look ducky at all. And you have minor swelling. My surgeon told me it takes at least 3 weeks for the swelling to be gone 100%. You can put some cover up on the bruise. And do not take any motrin for 3 days following your injections. This will make it worse. I am not sure about your crease though on the side. I did get the tiny lines my either sides of my nose filled and everything today looks fantastic. I am super happy with the results. May I ask... how much juvederm did you get put into your lips ? But all in all dont worry , its just swelling it will go down and you will be very happy with your result!!!! good luck
msop04 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Thanks, momof3boys! I look MUCH better today, but my left side of my lip is still a little larger - I'll hope it's just still swollen... Smile lines are even again for the most part though, so that's good! I am leaving for Mexico on 3-10 for my wedding, so I'm hesitant to have my doc "even up" anything if this left side is still uneven. What do you think? I'll post a photo...
msop04 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I know this is just a tiny bit uneven, but my lips were PERFECTLY symmetrical before... Ugh! They look best when I smile.
momof3boyz Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 You are welcome!!! And you are so pretty with or without the lips done!!! I honestly would suggest not getting any more product put in to your lips. I think its just swelling and will go down and your lips will be symetrical again. If for some reason when you get back they are not, then if you wish, you can always add a bit more to even things up. Good luck and enjoy your new lips and have fun in Mexico!!!!! Keep me posted. You can always pm me if you want also.
msop04 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Thank you! And thanks for the advice! My bruising has almost faded and my lips are pretty much symmetrical now. I really love how I no longer have vertical lines above my lips - that is awesome... As for future lip enlargement, I think I'll just steer clear - or at least do it when I can take about 3 to 4 days off!
momof3boyz Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Welcome!!!! And happy your lips are good now!! Yea, i pretty much plan on staying home the weekend or more when i get mine done. I usually do them on a Friday.
msop04 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Thought I'd post a pic from today. You can see that my top lip is slightly uneven, but overall I'm happy with the result. And, yes, I'll most likely do it again. LOL
cherchezlabelle Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 After bi-lateral mastectomy and reconstruction, parts had to be re-created, which required tattooing, and my doctor also injected Restylane. Now I can have the Restylane replaced when necessary, which I will only have done by a certified, highly-recommended plastic surgeon. The surgeon I've gone to since the breast reconstruction was finished has also injected (I think it was Radiesse) in the nasio-labial folds. It's very subtle and doesn't last more than, I think it was 6 months to a year. By all means, be sure you have the best doctor (an M.D.) you can find whenever you have these things done.
momof3boyz Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Your lips look beautiful!!!! Lol... its addictive. Once you see your new lips its so hard to go back to the old ones
wendy1368 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I have had fillers on my nose and chin by dr Kim at chatswood sydney. I liked the fillers on my chin however they didn't last long. The fillers on my nose lasted about 6 months. It wasn't that painful for the chin because he would inject you will LA before he would start with the fillers. I would rate it 4/10 pain factor and there wasn't much bruising or swelling afterwards. The nose was quite painful though I would rate it 7/10. I had quite a lot of bruising and swelling and the pain was constant for a few days after.
omiart Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I had 1 syringe of Restylane to increase volume under the eye (half a syringe for each eye) by a plastic surgeron. One eye turned out very nice and natural. The other eye however, the restylane didn't didn't spread out evenly so I ended up with a deep crease under my eye. Something I didn't expect was how stiff hyaloyronic acid would be so after it was injected I was stuck with the crease unless I wanted to go back and have something injected to dissolve the HA. I tried massaging it out but it didn't help and a year later I can still see the crease. I think HA fillers like Juvederm and Restylane can look really nice but it can also easily make things worse and its hard to correct. I think if I were to do it again, I'd have a dermatologist inject the filler instead of a plastic surgeon to avoid having uneven lumpy injections. A friend of mine also had the same thing done by a general practioner and it turned out horribly. The material was placed too low so it sat on her cheek bone area. So her cheeks ended up looking really full and it made her undereye area look sunken in and when she smiled the material would push up and make her eyes wrinkle up really badly. So go for it if you want to have it done but make sure you go to somebody who has a reputation for injections and not a jack of all trades. Its actually really easy to make a mess of. Hope this helped! Good luck!
thirstforfacts Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 If you've had the temporary fillers take a look into Ardefill. Lasts several years and only slightly more cost.
nicolescloset Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I'm wondering what experience has anyone had as the best area on the face to get juvederm besides lips. Any AREAS that I should try first?
