My surgery is booked for the September 10th. I received a quote from Dr. Lee with his suggestion of rhinoplasty with rib from his VIP Korean clinic receiving an equivalent cost to surgery in Australia and declined purely on cost and his approach. He pushed - not recommended, for a mid face augmentation ($4000USD) on top of my rhinoplasty. With flights and accomodation, it would've totalled around $18k-20k and there is an additional tax (10%) on selected cosmetic surgeries such as rhino by the Korean Government. They do note a VAT refund (10%) is applicable for surgeries until December 2018 unless extended but these two additions make the end cost ambiguous and whether you get that 10% refund may be limited.

I'm going with Dr. Kao after reviewing dozens of rhinoplasty specialists. I believe I've done ample research - following his symposiums, contacting his surgeon societies and memberships to see if they are still valid as said on his website etc. Do what is best for you based on your research. One negative review on a doctor may sway you to go elsewhere but it is all subjective and warrants a gut-feeling choice to be made. I had seen mixed reviews on my primary rhinoplasty surgeon in 2015 and it turned out to be near perfect. The cartilage reshaped because of the decade long broken nose I had - only issue is he didn't use coastal cartilage even though he warned me it is possible it may reshape.

Going for male rhinoplasty in Korea, currently booked to see Dr.Park at Dream, Dr Seo at MVP, Opera, and maybe Dr Lee at VIP. Probably going to add a few more clinics, any recommendations? Don't really see a lot of male rhinoplasty reviews since it's mostly females that do PS, but I assume these doctors should also have good knowledge and experience with male noses.

Hi, are you caucasian?? I was also considering VIP but started hearing about their similar recommendation of rib cartilage and mid-face augmentation to everyone who consulted them for rhino. Btw, i have also heard about Dr. Kao but i don't know if he's really good with caucasian noses? Hope you can provide some insight. Thanks ^^

I have published this 6 months ago,
https://www.realself.com/review/sydney-au-revision-rhinoplasty-dr-chuang-hsiang-kao-dr-montien-lueprapai

It has all my relevant experiences and hopefully answers everyones questions as far as I know. It also has photos of myself.

Yes, I am caucasian. I have thick skin and I would say I have a complex set of challenges faced by the surgeon that otherwise would be easier to perform on the common caucasian.

Best of luck!

Be wary of Korean clinics and hospitals too - it's becoming common Youtubers and public figures are receiving discounted surgeries in return for a inflated review. I'm not discrediting their profession but be mindful on this approach when you see testimonials etc.
