pei-pei
Hi SCind, I talked to the consultant who work for VIP said the ear cartilage is only for the nose tip, because my nose is revision and not sure my nasal septal was harvested or not for before surgery. She said," you even take a X-Ray that still can not find out. "
xuka
Hi merorin, Yes, it'd be great if we can go together. However, I'm not solid on my schedule yet. It could be this Christmas or next summer. I'm still trying to save up money. In the meanwhile, I could be doing more research too. What procedures are you considering? I'm considering alarplasty and tip plasty with septal cartilage. I want to augment my nose bridge too, but I do not want to insert foreign objects into my nose. Both plaza and Otsuka offer ear cartilage for nose bridge augmentation but I've heard that ear cartilage isn't a good choice for the bridge as it has the tendency to warp. Plaza told me about this too and said I-shaped silicone implants are better and safe, but I'm still indecisive about it. The idea of having silicone in my nose is just uncomfortable. What do you think?
pei-pei
Yes, I agree it. That is why I always put VIP and Shimmian on my top list.
saphireeni
I know some people who were very satisfied with their results from him. He has great bedside manners and is very honest. However I had my primary surgery with him and need a revision. I guess everyone's experience and needs will differ though.
saphireeni
Hi Chris. Best of luck recovering. I don't have PM yet but I was wondering what Shimmian clinic is like. Is it big or fairly small? I visited several clinics a couple of months ago for consultations. I imagine it to be small like OZ. I really need a revision rhinoplasty, but I want a specialist! saphireeni
If you don't mind me asking, how much did these clinics quote you? I'm currently in Japan, but not in a big city so finding a good rhinoplasty specialist isn't easy!
saphireeni
I've visited JW and VIP. I'm currently considering Shimmian. Could you share what made you place VIP first? The doctor struck me as being very honest, but the price they were charging was outrageous. I know I know, can't put a price on quality...but seriously, I'd be better off getting it done at home... pei-pei
Hi Saphireeni, I had my lip job that was fat over injected one and half year. My lip is protrusion and doesn't match my face. Except the nose revision, I really need to do paranasal augmentation to fix my mouth protrude. VIP can all use the rib cartilage for these two surgeries(but they still count one surgery). Shimmian use foreign material to do paranasal augmentationa that what I do not put it on my first list(they all can use fat, but I need to have a bigger different after fix). For the price, Shimmian is only cheaper then VIP 0ne or two thousand if I do my eye bag remove, too.
pei-pei
VIP and Shimmian are always reply me quickly, but JW has not answered so far. VIP and Shimmian are both nose specialist.
bernese
Hi all, I'm still considering which one to go to while saving up for the rhinoplasty cost. Korea seem to be the recommended place to go n I've checked prices with both JW and dr lee from banobagi. However, I'm also considering Taiwan. Anyone is planning going to Taiwan or been there before? I tried asking a distance friend when I saw that she did her nose on fb but she didnt want to share.. xuka
Hi saphireeni, Plaza clinic said my case would cost at about $3000-5000. But that was before I asked about using your own cartilage. Otsuka didn't give me a specific price. They just list the same prices shown on their website. http://www.otsuka-biyo.co.jp/en/price/index.html I haven't heard much about plastic surgery in Japan so I don't know if these two clinics specialize in rhinoplasty, but I heard Otsuka is the top plastic surgery clinics in Japan. They have many branches and have appeared on some TV show about turning ugly girls into pretty girls or something like that. It's quite pricey though. I'm feeling mixed about Korea right now. I understand that they are cheaper and more specialized in this field, I have seen people who turned out beautiful going to Wonjin and other Korean clinics but I have also heard bad stories about them, like bad postop care and the doctors avoid responsibility. I could enter these clinics and come out looking prettier than ever or having my face ruined. I'm not sure if I want to take the risks especially when I don't have that many opportunities to get out of the country for plastic surgery. I'm also not ugly to begin with, people say my face is pleasing to the eyes, (I just really hate my nose) so I have more to lose if an operation doesn't turn out well. xuka
Pei pei, do you mind if I ask which clinics you went to the last time? The more I read about people needing revision surgeries, the more I'm scared that mine won't turn out as I want. But I really really want a slimmer and taller nose! saphireeni
Thanks for the details Xuka. Just from consultations alone, I think the aftercare in Korea could be pretty sloppy... Some of the clinics I visited for consultations were a little unfriendly and seemed to be focused on acquiring a new customer rather than an individual's needs. Definitely considering Japan now. From my experience, in general everyone here is gentle and caring - from dentists to hospitals. (I just hope I can find a Japanese nose specialist!) saphireeni
I also considered their paranasal offer, but I wonder how it would affect smiling and talking. After my primary rhino I watched some videos of me presenting, only just noticed how my smile has changed and my mouth moves when I talk (along with my crooked tip, very self-conscious now)! :ninja: Has anyone had paranasals done and can help explain? I tried researching but there's not much said by people 2+years after surgery (cause things really change and shrink down after that time)
