It is funny that you said you don't want clinic that are popular "internationally", but yet you list out those name are all popular in these forum. =p

If you want to have rhinoplasty surgery, I suggest you look for doctor which specialty in rhinoplasty, not by clinic itself, some clinic have 2 or 3 doctor each doctor handle different surgery, example one doctor may do nose and jaw reduction but the other do eyes and breast,You can find the information from their doctor introduction.

Hi ladies (you know who you are) and forumer who is curious about Dr Wang Ting,
Thank you so much for being with me through this ordeal. You gals are always available to cheer and support me whenever and wherever I was. All of you have a good heart to match your good look. Love you..

As mentioned, I would like to share my consultation experience with Dr Wang Ting in Dalian recently.

I called the clinic last minute to inform them that I will be arriving the next day. I've only been to Shanghai in group for exchange program in the University. Other than that, I've zero experience in China. So, they arranged for their driver to pick me up. It was a 30min journey to the clinic. I did not even have time to research the hotel and had not booked any prior to arrival.

After arriving at the clinic around 2pm, I was ushered to a room and spoke at length with the main nurse and consultant. It is a small clinic with surgery room, recovery room, toilet, consulation room. I did not see any patient then. After spending around 2 hours chatting with the staff and looking at tons of before and after photos through album and computer, Dr Wang Ting came in.

His diagnosis was exactly the same as the consultant. He said my uneven nostril is due to infection, thus contracted. My bridge and tip have turned shorter and upturned. As my tip is still very stiff, he advised that I've to wait for a year to do surgery. OMG..So long a wait..

He went on to photoshop my current one to show me how it will look after the surgery. He was upfront that he could only try his best to balance the size of nostril but it will still remain uneven to some extent. At the moment, my right nostril is double the size of my left one.:crybaby::cry: Its really embarrassing when I lie down on the mat to do Yoga. Or washing my hair at my regular salon. I am sure people notice it.

He, like JW and Shinmian, explained why rib instead of silicon. First, it was because rib has more resources/materials to create many possibilities/flexibilities to get desired shape and tip. Second, I might not have septal cartilage and ear cartilage would not be strong enough to support my tip. Third, nose will not be so oily compared to silicon (any forumer can help to confirm this point).

By the time I finished my consultation, it was nearly 5pm. I still haven't seen any patient. I raised my concern and the consultant asked me to come back the next day morning. She said surgery and removal of stitches are usually performed in the morning.

They tried to help me book the 5*hotel near their clinic, but fully booked. Likewise, other hotels in good locations they suggested. I learnt that there was an international conference held. Luckily, I was told by my hb to check out ctrip.com where I found a list of hotels. So we found one at last near the main shopping district around 20-25 mins from the clinic. Whew, it took us around half hour to settle this. Its advisable to stay in better hotel due to security reason, in my opinion.

Be prepared to have to share cab with other passengers during peak hours. So funny..And if you have weak stomach, its best to go to franchise restaurant for meal. I patronized the same restaurant and same franchise dessert house (honeymoon dessert) for the past 3 days.

The next day, when I returned to the clinic, I was told that the patient was removing her stitches in the room. So, I sat at the only 2 seater sofa. The lady besides me was a friend of the patient. She shared that they were local Chinese who had migrated to Canada. I was shown her friend's before and after photo via cellphone. I was impressed that she became much prettier, but I wasn't impress with the nose coz it was too sharp in my opinion. I kept the opinion to myself though.

But all this change, when her friend walked out from the room. OMG, she was gorgeous!! She looked like a Eurasian (more Eurasian than our lovely Vivi, forumer). I thought I was briefed of her background but I still couldn't help asking if she has abit of western blood..Twice I remembered, just to make sure I hear correctly.

She put her thumbs up and high recommended Dr Wang. Maybe I was surprised coz I did not expect rib to heal so fast in 7 days. I was expecting more swelling than silicon, or at least like silicon. I was healing quite well from silicon interms of swell, but still I did not get a better defined nose till months later. So, surprise surpise!! Oh, and her friend said (exactly like what the nurse said about the usual patient), they were already walking around shoppin on the third day. I thought rib is suppose to be painful to walk for days?

BUT the price tag for my complicated case is 65million RMB. I will seriously consider the clinic coz I saw the nose I like. But I am not sure how to heal there for a week coz I don't like the shopping and food there. So, I am going to consult more Korean clinics again, and hopefully I could find a doctor confident in rectifying my condition.

Additional note: The second day, I saw around 4 staff in gown from surgery room. So, they have quite a team to perform surgery. The consultant shared that HKG actresses have been to their clinic for surgery. Those in the supporting roles. She did not name the one who came recently but asked if I have heard of XXX TV series or YYY TV series. Unfortunately, I don't know any. I asked if there's any lead actress, she retorted if she is a lead, she is already pretty. She said that's why supporting actress will go for surgery in hope to be a lead one day.

Anyway, I don't think having nose revision in china is a good idea. It is because often heard people from china complaint about blotched job in china and price is expensive. A lot of china people rather go korea, japan or Thailand to have their surgery., so it is kind of strange that you want your surgery in china.

Its 65000 RMB. Hahhaa. Sorry for the error.

I know. It has never crossed my mind to go China nor to do rib. But after the botched job in Korea, and having most of the clinics there telling me that I've to do rib due to the current condition. I've to keep my mind open to doctors who specialised in rib.

I read in the past postings from Taeyang about Dr Wang, and googled out of curiousity. I really like what I saw and believe if the Dr is unethical, he would just take my money and operate straight away. Instead, he insisted that I've to wait out and would not even do anything in Nov (after 6 months).

Having said that, my favourite place to heal is still Korea and am still in search of a suitable clinic there. If I couldn't, I might have to take the risk.

The clinics I've shortlisted in this trip incl:

1. Item
2. Rex
3. O&Young - Quoted me 16.5m over the phone through looking at my pics.
4. SuBeauty (Centre for human appearance)

Let me know if you've anyone has experience with Dr Wang Ting. Thanks.

I don't know anyone personally have done with Dr Wang, but do read some bad review from china forum, and also know the posting from taeyang, so hard to judge, all depend on your choice.

From what I know item did silicone with ear cartilage, and O & Young dr oh use silicone as bridge, rib cartilage for tips but one forumner in this forum told me Dr oh told her he did full rib.

I will not recommend people to use rib cartilage, unless you really have no choice, I have friend did radiated rib and auto ear cartilage for tips, end up have serious infection at tips and left her nose has serve scarring and upturn, she currently in korea and waiting for her revision, usually surgeon will advise people to have surgery only 6 mths after infection subsided. she plan to replaced it with silicone.

If you really prefer rib cartilage, I think you should included VIP in your clinic list, I know peiople went there and satified with the result, although I don't like rib cartilage, I must said I like the way how they handle the open operation scar, really invisible.
