Asian Nose Job 3

Recommended Posts

I don't know what the roster is for the english translator, however at Dream she was there on a Monday. Which is when my consultation was. Im unsure as to whether they only show up on call when there's international patients or work set days. Either way it shouldn't really matter. If you can speak chinese there are Chinese translators there on site. if not use google translate while you wait to see the surgeon. Dr Park is proficient in English so no need to worry. The consultant also speaks english, tho i found talking to her a waste of time cos she just tried to sell me more surgeries. Funny thing is i asked Dr Park about the procedures she recommended and he said "no that is not unnecessary for you." lol

Hi everyone.

i've always been a phantom on these forums- only reading for more information about clinics, experiences etc. So, to everyone who has been so kind with their sharing, thank you. I've decided to finally engage in the forum because I want to make my rhinoplasty a reality.

It might be an essay but here is a little background. I was 13 when I realised that appearances mattered. I had a friend who called me 'big nose' throughout my secondary school years. I've never thought much about my nose till she called me that. It really hurt. Another friend commented that I would look a lot prettier, if i had a nicer nose. Came junior college, a boy I was dating said, 'why is your nose so big?' I was hurt.

So yes, all these incidents have to an extent had an impact on my decision. But it's more so for my self-esteem and confidence. I'm doing it for me, because I do want to look and feel better. My self-esteem is good. It's just, getting my nose done well would be perfect.

To all who have read till here, thank you.

I'm looking to go either in May/June 2014 or December 2014. So if any one else is keen to go during this period, do tell me (: we could go together. In my research, i've read a fair share of not too good reviews for VIP, BK. ID. VIP was on my list at first because of the rib cartiliage, but i've since scrapped it due to bad post-op care and botched surgeries.

My current list now is (not in any order):

1. Real
2. Chungdam U
3. O & young
4. JK surgery
5. Pitangui Medical centre (one of the oldest and established clinics in korea)

I'm looking for a significant change in my nose. My nose is really bulbuous, has a pretty round tip, and a modestly wide alar base (not too wide i think). I'm looking at of course, a defined tip and a smaller nose. Especially so when i smile. (i hate grinning because my nose will just take over my entire face)

After reading though, i'm considering Dream. I've not read much about it though.

The process of emailing each clinic is a little daunting because i'm so unsure of what to do so. But we just have to email them right? haha.

Also, i've read its best to bring some pictures of my ideal nose. Is it true? But I don't think it is realistic to do.

Thank you for all who have read my incredibly long post . (':

Hi K Couture!

I've been reading backwards and you've been most informative. thank you. Can we have a walk-in consultation or does everyone book in advance? If so, that means we have to book in advance for up to 5 clinics? Did you or anyone else do an online consultation before heading down? I apologise if my questions seem dumb. I'm really new and i'm not sure what the process is.

No never do walk in. Just think about it, why would you risk getting turned away for a walk in after you paid for a planet ticket down to Seoul. ALWAYS book in advance and make it clear to them you want to see the surgeon and not just the consultant.

I booked mine 2 months in advance for 5 clinics, once through e-mail and then i rang them over the phone 2 weeks before to confirm the appointment. Alot of people do online consultation but I didn't. Online consultations are majority of the time not answered by the surgeon but by consultants who are not knowledgeable and just want to sell you surgeries because they get commission. I merely sent them an e-mail with my photos so they can show the surgeon, mentioned what procedures i have had done and would like, and to tell them to prepare all this information for the surgeon upon my arrival. Online consultations are also pointless because you can only be assessed when you are physically in front of the surgeon anyway. I think if you engage in too much questions with the consultants they may think you don't have much prior experience or knowledge with surgery and will end up trying to jack you lol....that's just an impression i usually get from most of them anyway haha

Lemonpeel

I'm going June/July. I too would like a change to my short bulbous nose. After viewing many before and after pictures, I always go back to VIP. I love his signature "v" nose tip , bridge , everything. These people turn out pure sexy! ...and how harmonized the results turn out. I know I know, many he say and she say stories. But lets be realistic, will 100% of patients anywhere walk away happy? Of course not. I read a lot of negative stories but yet seem anyone post their pic (? ). But I've seen many great results.

Even though I admire other girls nose. I can only show him pics of the " type" of nose
I like, so he gets an idea and see if its adaptable to what I currently have and if it fits my faces " harmony". We shop for surgeons for their experience, skill, technique, customer satisfaction and with all the faces he's has seen over hes practice , he probably knows what nose will fit my face more than I do. Just take suggestions. I've seen many girls wanting/demanding the exactly nose of a certain actress, actor etc and once its done, doesn't suit there face at all. Just know what you like, show pictures but take suggestions. That's what I've come to terms with.

Hi K Couture,

Yeah, I forget that I will bear the risk of getting turned down for appointments. lol. But I think even with substantial research, one will definitely ask quite a bit of questions no? haha. thanks for your helpp (:

Hi moody! have you decided on your lodging / air tickets etc.? I will update you once i've more or less confirmed the dates (: And yeah, I guess at the end of the day, it's how you feel after the 1-1 consultation with the doctors. Most are usually pleased with their results because of the good rapport they have with their doctors

are you refering to tip plasty? if so then yes but usually the septal cartilage is sufficient. If you want to augment the bridge of your nose, septal cartilage does like....hardly anything. I would recommend using the ultra soft I shape (not L shape) silicone for the bridge. Produces great results and flawless shape when positioned properly. Don't use ear cartliage for your bridge, many people including myself have gone through that and have ended up with a bumpy hooked nose. Im getting a revision in may because of it.

Yeah! I am referring to tip plasty (: because moody wants to head to VIP which specialises in using rib cartilage. Yeah, the I shape silicone seems to be a better / safer option. I'm not too sure if I'd be enhancing the bridge though. In anycase, K couture, you are heading to DREAM yeah? Which doctor will you be consulting?

I have gone to my consultation already. I selected Park Yang Soo to do my nose. I feel that logically, his method will be the least invasive and provide me with the best shape and structure for my nose revision.

Tho before i go ahead with the surgery i want to visit 2 more clinics which i didn't have time to before i make my final decision.

Hmm..as wat I have heard abt the ear cartilage is for the tip of the nose and the implant will be at the bridge area.as for the implant used, nt so sure which is the best though.there is this implant named 'mentor', which I might consider to use.any1 with any info?

ear cartilage can be used for the bridge in the form of diced ear cartilage wrapped in scalp tissue. Again, not a good idea... exhibit A right here /points at myself

I heard a bit about mentor. As far as im aware mentor is the company that manufactures it. They make memory gets and memory shape implants. The one for nose is called pds flexible plate. Apparently its absorbable??? tho i do not see the point of having your implant absorbed......thats as little as i know about this material.

Anyways i personally wouldn't be a guinea pig to test this out in my nose since its so new. Id wait for others who are daring enough to try it first then get feedback lol

Are you talking about the risk of uneven/bumpy texture with diced cartilage? I was initially researching diced rib cartilage wrapped in fascia, but then I read on this board about this potential issue.

Also, I have a Qs about rhinoplasties in general. What constitutes a 'rhinoplasty'? I'm in contact with several clinics at the moment, and it appears I have to specify that in addition to augmenting my bridge height, I'd like to have my tip shaped, nostrils narrowed, etc. Is a basic rhinoplasty just raising height, such that I will have to be very specific on what else I would like beyond that?
