Asian Nose Job 3

Recommended Posts

how many weeks post op are you? From today on, using a cotton bud and start pulling down the nostril that became uneven. Its due to internal scarring from the open rhino. Doing this helps minimally with the scar tissue. Tho this problem won't be completely alleviated.

I'm already 2 and a half years post op lol! I am getting a revision in a month so I'm hoping they can remove the scar tissues  Is there anything I can do this time so I wont have so much scarring?

if ure revision is using open rhino, there is a strong chance it will make the internal scarring worse. Your best chance at a satisfactory revision is using closed rhino is excising some of the scar tissue. But alot of surgeons will tell you its not possible doing a revision through closed rhino, and that's because they tend to be trained in open rhino and is therefore far too intricate for them to perform it using closed method. So you need to find a good surgeon who specialises in closed methods to be able to do it.

Hi, I am thinking to get a rhino with silicone implant and tip plasty, I've got a mildly deviated septum (but you can't really tell looking at my nose). Does anyone know if a deviated septum will affect the outcome? or do I have to have a septoplasty to correct it along with the rhino? I also have a bulbous nose, would tip plasty make it less bulbous or do I need to do the actual bulbous nose correction?

Sorry for so many questions!

bulbous nose might need correction via excising the soft tissue. This is only if you have a significantly bulbous nose. Most asians assume they have a bulbous nose simply because they have a flat tip. Often this is not the case. A bulbous nose is characterized as thick, rounded with significant underlying soft tissue.

If you do not have breathing problems, a deviated septum which does not change the appearance of your current nose will not affect a rhino. Most people have some form of mild deviation of their septum and they end up with perfect nose jobs. If a surgeon wants u to get it corrected for aesthetic purposes its just a ploy to charge you more should you fall into the description i just mentioned. So just to clarify, only get your deviated septum correct IF you have breathing difficulties.

Thanks =) Yah I would really prefer not to have open this time as well. However I do want the surgeon to remove a lot of scar and soft tissue as if only a small amount is removed it wont much difference in my thick skin, especially since some scar tissue will come back after closed as well. Closed rhino can only do so much for bulbous noses in terms of removing soft tissue and scar tissue. But yah, I will ask Dr.Lee for his opinion after he evaluates my nose in person since he will probably know better than me. If I don't feel comfortable then I probably won't go through with the revision and just do my other surgeries I'm planning to have with them~

Also does anyone know if there will be a permanent scar on the eyelid with full incision? I see a lot of people that have a line across their eyelid when they close their eyes... I'm not sure if thats due to non-incision or incision. right now I have double eyelids but my eyelids have excess skin so it looks different everyday. I'm looking to remove excess skin. I also have reallyyy sketchy/elastic eyelid skin so perhaps this will hide the scars better? Apparently the only way to operate on my type of eyelid is full-incision since I have too much excess skin.

Apparently I had a deviated septum too when Dr.Lee evaluated me the first time. He said he will correct it for me even though it never bothered me. Though I don't think this was an extra procedure he kind of just fixed it for me while doing other things.

In reguards to this hump bump on the nose forming after rhinoplasty, is there a way to prevent it? Minimize it? or its uncontrollable?

VIPpatient, did you bring along pictures of your desired looked. Or was it trusting the doctor. Did he show after pictures of other patients to see if that's what you wanted??

I'm going to a few places for consultation. I'm unsure now on who to go to :/

actually closed rhino can achieve similar results to open rhino in regards to your concerns with scar tissue removal and bulbous nose. It is also less invasive so reduces risk of more internal scar tissue forming. But as i said you would require a surgeon who specializes in closed rhino to achieve this as being able to do this in closed rhino requires more skill than a surgeon who is trained in open rhino to be capable of. The most surgeons who are trained in open rhino are capable of when using the closed technique is to do bridge work. They are unable to adequately perform tipplasty with the closed method.

if you want to avoid the hump/bump/unevenness from rhinoplasty, then simply avoid using cartilage as that is a common aesthetic complication from the method. An artificial implant won't bear the risk of that effect since the shape is perfect and dead straight. Use a soft implant tho. There 2 kinds of soft silicone now. Ultra soft silicone and the other....ummm i cant remember the name but another forum member posted it in this thread around 2 weeks ago. Might want to look into using auto dermis too, which is a treated and manufactured donor dermal graft

No I didn't.. I don't feel like a picture really helps that much in my case because there is only so much you can do with thick skin and cartilage, so I just told him I wanted to slim down my tip and to not raise my bridge. I don't know if the hump is attributed to scar tissue or the cartilage tbh. I didnt have my bridge done only tip work, but the hump is kinda near the tip =s

I have yet to come across any surgeons who are willing to perform excessive tissue removing and scar tissue especially with revisions. I know some will do primary closed with certain types of tip work, but not major ones. If you know any surgeon who is really good and can do closed let me know

Hi guys, it's been awhile. And i've finalised the clinics.

Real
Dream
Banobagi
Jewelry.

As compared to my previous choices in an earlier post, I am now looking at quite a different set of clinics

Dream has gotten back to me and banobagi can only reply after the 26th.
I will be in Seoul from the 14th to 26th. I am set on my flight and accommodation but will only make payment once i've confirmed the consultaions.

Also i'm having a slight problem with real and jewelry. The email address for real ([email protected]) is invalid. I've also used the online booking appointment service but it doesn't seem to work.

For Jewelry, the entire website is in Korean and they don't seem to provide an email address. Does anyone have any information or can help me out? Am at my wits end! http://www.jewelryps.kr/

after consulting Dr Park Yang Soo at Dream and doing extensive research i am confident he is skilled enough to my 2nd revision (3rd nose job) via closed rhino where every other surgeon wanted to do open. Those other surgeons also specialise in open and not closed.

But i won't know for sure despite being confident in him, until i get my surgery. Haha if you are going to get surgery after May then allow me to be your guinea pig lol. Ill know exactly if he can pull it off after he operates on me. fingers crossed wish me luck!
