That is, the 2 surgeons who run that clinic are not pioneers of any kind in the medical community. Vip is known because it is well marketed. You might want to do a detailed search of the forums to weigh up the reviews here carefully before actually deciding on VIP. Since you are only getting the tip done i would not say rule them out but if u do end up going with them and they attempt to convince you of using cartilage for ure bridge then leave and find somewhere else.

Also, do you have any breathing difficulties? If you do then it is reasonable to fix your deviated septum. If not then it is unnecessary. This is the one of the reasons why after i consulted with VIP i removed them from my list because they attempted to convince me that i had to fix my deviated septum. The truth in the matter is, and this is what i learnt after getting second and third opinions from Dr Park and Dr Mendelson, most people have some form of deviation in their septum. There are also people with deviated septums but with perfectly straight noses. There is no need to correct a deviated septum unless you have breathing problems. I feel that suggesting someone who has no breathing difficulties, like myself, to correct my deviation is an attempt to justify charging more for a rhinoplasty.

So with that, since Vip is suggesting for you to fix your deviated septum, it will be done via open rhinoplasty. Not closed. Like i said, it should only be a valid suggestion to you if you have breathing problems.

i would suggest not picking a clinic based on what you know of their reputation. By all means narrow your choices down based on that but when it comes to surgeon selection, you should do it by meeting the surgeons and being detailed about their proposed methodology, potential risks, pros and cons etc then seek out 2nd and 3rd opinions. Only then can you make the best decision for yourself and minimize complications from a bad decision

But if you have never been to Korea before and don't know the language it's hard to know who to choose when all you have to base any decision from IS through google.... it's hard to know what info you see on threads and google is real.. or to judge a doctor via web findings..

Okay I thought I should give an update to give you more info so you can make a better decision than me, it has been almost 3 weeks since I did my nose job in Korea and each day and week went by, swelling goes down and my nose looks more piggy. It gets more upturned as the swelling goes down. My nostrils are so visible now. Since the nose is upturned, the scar where the doctor cut is more visible. I went back to work for more than a week now, and I became the laughing stock and people gossip about me in the lunchroom. I sit at my desk all day and try to avoid people as much as I can....one of my co-worker saw me and made a comment "oh I thought Korea is very good at nose surgery, I guess I was wrong". Another co-worker asked me why I stopped eating in the lunchroom and told me everybody gossip about me and said my nose look like a pig nose. Now you probably know how I feel. I feel sad, depressed, mad, regret the decision more than ever.....

And uhm I guess so. I dont think he botched my nose though.. I still thinks it looks better than before but I just wish it was smaller. It's hard to operate on a thick skinned nose and achieve definition without making it bigger. I'm just hoping this time he can take out some cartilage so that the tip is lower and make the tip narrower, I just dont like the tip so high... I searched the forum and I actually found 4 other members who also went back to Dr.Lee for revision because they found their nose bridge/tip too big/high over the years. However all of them are rib patients, where I used ear+septal. But they never came back to share their results and stopped posting after lol.. Does anyone know what happened to kekekeke or like yellowsuitcase?? Perhaps that's a good thing cause most people usually come back to complain haha. Or maybe VIP kidnapped them. Either or lol XD

I think you may have misread what i said. i suggested SHORTLISTING your clinics through online research which includes speaking to forum members and learning about their reputation etc. But actually SELECTING your surgeon AFTER you meet them in person and asking for detailed information about their proposed methodology, potential risks, pros and cons etc then seek out 2nd and 3rd opinions. Only then can you make the best decision for yourself and minimize complications from a bad decision.

I had my first consultation trip to korea last year in Oct, i do not speak a word of korean and i managed to do all that i mentioned above very easily. Hence i imagine anyone would be able to.

i think some people assume (for god knows what reason) that you must somehow have a solid idea of which clinic and which surgeon you will be getting your surgery at when you arrive in seoul. This is an absolutely irrational and dangerous mentality as it sets you up for making unsound decisions. Why should you have to choose your surgeon before even meeting them in person let alone before comparing options at other clinics with other surgeons? There should be no rush when it comes to surgery. If you have no time then either split your availability into 2 seperate trips, one for MULTIPLE consultations and one for surgery or extend the amount of time spent in seoul if you want both done. There's always going to be enough time, its just a matter of whether one wants to rush it.

SUNRAY11: i don't think K Couture has ever written anything that wasn't great, detailed and truthful information and advice. if you want to listen to anyone, especially when it comes to nosejobs you should probably listen to her. but like she said you shouldn't make a decision before you've been to different clinics and spoken to different doctors in Korea. you shouldn't base all your decisions on anything any one person says. never pay a deposit before going to Korea. VIP asks you to do this sometimes and that's just one of many reasons that clinic is not your best choice. don't expect to read a few pages and then be ready to make a decision. researching takes time (a lot of time) but it's worth it in the end. good luck!

K Couture, if you dont mind me asking, is it possible to ask the doctor NOT to push my nose tip up? I feel like my nostrils right now are showing about the right amount, but if the dr do the upturn nose style (which has lately become very popular in korea) I can be sure that my nose will turn into piggy nose. I've consulted with many who said I need tiplasty and bridge augmentation, but I cant be sure if as a result of tiplasty the nose will be slightly upturned or not? Is it the case in your experiences?

Dallas101 is probably very upset now, I sent a few messages to cheer her up but she didnt reply. Everyone please dont ask her more questions, it will just make her feel worse. I've known her for a while over this forum. She did it at Aone Plastic & Aesthetic Surgery, if u can read back a little bit further u will see more posts of her. Please dont ask her more questions that you can find out yourself by reading more of her exp earlier in this thread, she needs time. Just speaking as a friend who cares.

Sure! I'm on my flight to korea! I am having my surgery soon and will update on here. PS vip has never asked me to pay any deposit o.o even when they did pick up at airport and provided 3 days of accommodation before I had consultation and paid anything.

your surgeon should ask you what type of nose you want. Which really means, according to what can be done with your current nose structure, would you prefer a straight nose or a curved nose. Alot of girls going for that asian doll look like the curved one. I personally prefer a one that is dead straight and angular. Just make it a request when you speak to your surgeon and he should operate accordingly.

u can do tipplasty using closed rhino with sedation. So no need for general anesthesia. You need to find a surgeon who specializes in the closed method tho. Never let a surgeon who does not specialize in closed rhino perform a tipplasty via the closed method for u. There's a difference between a surgeon who knows how to do closed rhinoplasty and one who specializes in it. The latter primarily performs only closed rhinoplasty and also trained in it.

There's a good number of surgeons in korea who can use this method for you. Also, some surgeons might not even want you to undergo an alar reduction, depending on your case of course. A better option than alar reduction is tip projection, which in itself narrows the nose, including the nostrils while maintain the elasticity of your tissue.

Here's a good example. Find two satay sticks or thin sticks. Look in the mirror while shoving the sticks up your notrils and pulling it to the front. The effect you see is what a good tipplasty can potentially achieve: Tip definition and alar narrowing.

I just did my nose job at dr Jung shimmian clinic in Korea 10 days ago and I am WARNING all of you, please do not go there. My nose was primary. He did my nose completely diferent and it does not go with my face at all. I don't think he has an eye for beauty and proportion. The nose he gave me looks totally weird on my face, the nose is so high. Now I want to remove it but Jay Lee ignores all my emails. I am back at home in the US and I have been emailing Jay Lee and the clinic about removing it but they ignore all my emails. I am in shock at how Korean doctor and consultant treat their patient after taking the money. I don't know if that is korean culture how they treat their patient or is it just this clinic. I am writing this to hope that none of you has to go through the same thing that I do. I am making appointment with a local plastic surgeon in the US to help me remove my implant inside my nose.

She didn't do it Aone... she did it at dr Jung shimmian clinic. I consulted with Aone, they do not use gortex.
