Yeah goretax is more natural but is harder to remove if infection or need to replace. Thats what banobagi and dr jung told me - all have suggested silicone out of the two or rib (if i was willing to pay the price)

That's right you also had Acculift and forehaed FG - I remember you talking about it earlier. Did Dr. Park do all 3 procedures for you? How do you like these 2 procedures so far? I understand it will take a while to see the final result.

dr park did fat graft to the forehead and rhino and dr kim who is the facial contouring specialist did the acculift.

umm im too swollen to give an accurate review of these 2 procedures because unlike a rhino, the overall shape is concealed by swelling. Ill write a proper review of everything in a seperate thread. But for now Dr Park just came in to check on my nose again this morning. I love how attentive and accomodating everyone at this clinci is to my diva demands. Anyways he remove the cast again to check for risk of extrusion and the black brusing went wayyy down now there's just a red pinkish colour which shows i am getting good circulation. Next check up is on Mon that's also when they will remove stitches.

aone has very good results but in a subtle way. the noses look refined yet, natural... and I'm afraid it'll look almost too natural? also, I dislike the fact that he wants to do a brow lift in conjunction with the nose job.... I've seen someone else on here mention that he's wanted to do the same with her.

I'm assuming the brow lift will open up the glabella area to give the illusion of a longer nose (since most asians lack any volume in that region and hes mentioned it a few times on his blog) but, it' not my cup of tea.

I've been contemplating on getting rhinoplasty for years and have seen countless of PS from California but haven't had any luck. I've been told what I want and need is very basic but choosing the right doctor is sooo hard esp one that understands asian features. Has anyone had any luck with PS from Ca? SF specifically? or heard of Dr. Eshima? he is a perfectionist supposedly & pl "come in from all around the world" to see him. I would love to go to Korea but I'm super scared

avoid vip if they are using cartilage on you, which is very likely. You definitely want to avoid using cartilage, be it rib or diced rib or ear cartilage at all costs. VIP tends to advocate for the use of cartilage and cartilage only. It is one way of justifying the expensive cost compared to the generic silicone method. You should be aware that the cartilage method, no matter how surgeons try to sell you on it, is by no means a superior method to the use of silicone. Aesthetically cartilage is full of complications and risks.

If VIP is going to use cartilage on you, I urge you to question them if they have patients who experience unevenness, bumps, asymmetry in both bridge and alar work and over projection. If they say no they are lying to you because there's been many patients on this forum who have had those issues, both from vip and from other clinics who use cartilage. If they say yes you should ask them their estimated ratio.

I highly recommend using the ultra soft silicone method placed under the muscle above the bone via closed rhino. That is the most aesthetically pleasing and least invasive method at the moment. Do not put yourself through the risks involved when cartilage is used. I myself have to get a revision due to the side effects of cartilage. if you do decide to use the ultra soft silicone route, you should find a surgeon who specializes in closed rhino, and not a surgeon who is used to performing most of his procedures using the open method. Open method has a risk of internal scarring which can cause visible unevenness of the alar.

hello, do you happen to know someone whe is specialized in the close method? I have an up turned nose [need tip-plasty], can that be corrected through the close method? I am really anxicous about this, pls., any information will help, thanks

Okay I thought I should give an update to give you more info so you can make a better decision than me, it has been almost 3 weeks since I did my nose job in Korea and each day and week went by, swelling goes down and my nose looks more piggy. It gets more upturned as the swelling goes down. My nostrils are so visible now. Since the nose is upturned, the scar where the doctor cut is more visible. I went back to work for more than a week now, and I became the laughing stock and people gossip about me in the lunchroom. I sit at my desk all day and try to avoid people as much as I can....one of my co-worker saw me and made a comment "oh I thought Korea is very good at nose surgery, I guess I was wrong". Another co-worker asked me why I stopped eating in the lunchroom and told me everybody gossip about me and said my nose look like a pig nose. Now you probably know how I feel. I feel sad, depressed, mad, regret the decision more than ever.....

I'm sorry you felt this way, I have a naturally upturned nose, my tip is actually quite high, but very up turned, I've been feeling like you [probably worse because my case is bad] everyday of my life. I hope its just the healing process, n eventually the tip will drop. Btw., may I know what procedure did the doctor use？

The doctor raised my bridge 3mm and raised my tip and reduced my bulbous tip and reduced alar. My bridge is too high for face and my nostrils are uneven, one nostril has a notch and the nose tip is leaning to the right and the nose is upturned and the nose looks short.

Hi I've just contacted Dr Kao from Taiwan for rib rhino n he quoted me 9000 usd! I read on other posts that he quotes 110 000 ntd. Not even sure now...

Which is my weak receding chin, and of course a nose job will be harmonic to my face. Dr Hsu is also on my list, but he don't do sliding genioplasty for my chin. I will go to a doc, for both surgeries. I dont want to switch around especially when you are doing two surgeries at one time. I am against the idea of foreign implant on my face.

Dr Kao can converse in Mandarin and English, best is communication.

I have not been to Korea before so I cant comment, but I understand you need to get translator to get the best out of what you want. Sorry, but I find Taiwanese more friendlier, more humble, so I think I will go to them. I been to Taipei twice, but for travelling purposes free and easy, so I know my way around if I am lost.

I worry Korean surgeons will try to tell me to do more stuff on my face because after all they are running a business, and me maybe believing what they say will go for it, but the outcome, may not be what I want, and I will have myself to blame and I will pay for it. I hate the kind of feeling where you will feel regretful or devastated. Especially when you are in a foreign country.

I have afew korean colleagues, but they arent open to share about their
plastic surgery even I know they somehow they did. So I dont want to probe. When they are not ready to share, then dont bother to ask. I am open with what I did. So if people realize what I did, I will say. Nothing to be ashame of.

But do share to me why you are going to VIP in Korea, I am open to it Who knows I will change my mind. Take care

You shouldn't trust him yet for that very reason as any perception you may have of a surgeon until meeting them in person is purely based on one's own assumptions. Also, the receptionist will always tell you what you want to hear. Surgeons have more of a tendency to tell you the truth but in a half assed manner so it threads the fine line of a liability issue. I recall one surgeon who i asked "complications such as mine are common when cartilage is used. Has any of your patients experienced this?" and his response was "well, every patient has a different idea of what they want their nose to turn out like. I think its better if we look forward to improvements and not perfections." Basically that's his way of saying, yes i do have patients who experience these side effects but even with bumps and unevenness its still better than the original nose i worked on. Yeah no, i'm not paying someone to botch my nose again with the same complications. I know for a fact that such complications are non existent when silicone is used so i am not going to subject myself through such risk simply because of the notion that its my own tissue. That said, I do not know anything about Dr Kwon's actual skill so i can't comment on that. I can only yet again warn you of the risks you will be taking by using cartilage for the bridge. Its to be noted tho that very very very few surgeons are actually capable of doing a flawless job with the cartilage method. You best make it a point to speak to his actual post op patients, preferably in the ward, to find that out.

Also i think what he means with the forehead lift is that to augment your nose your forehead needs to be augmented too for balance. I wouldn't necessarily agree with this as it is usually not essential. However, if you have a lower forehead, it is true that an augmentation will look better along with a nose augmentation.

I've heard more horrible stories about silicon, its much worse than uneveness. I have to say that I'm much more afraid of post-op soft tissue contraction and infection and nose colasping than uneveness, but I'd hope that neither will happen.
