Asian Nose Job 3

Recommended Posts

HI - I did the dermal fat graft at 101 Plastic Surgery - I'm one year post op and I have a very natural looking nose - it was my fourth revision and nobody can tell I have ever had anything done. This is one of the pros of dermis fat graft. However, on another level, the nose it not something to write home about - if you are looking for something more 3 dimensional and sculpted then this is not the protocol. That part was difficult for me because I did have a pointier nose for 20 years but the tip began to rotate upward and became unnatural looking. Even though it looked attractive for my face, I got a lot of comments from Koreans which is pretty irritating. With dermis fat graft due to the high reabsorption rate it my nose looked pretty big in a rounded sort of way for the first 6 months and rapidly shrank to a nice size. yes I wish it were pointier, or the bridge were higher but after the 4th revision and a lot of psychotherapy I have a lot of gratitude.

No. There are many different factors that determine results.

Just based on my opinion, if you were to keep all variables the same except for implant, you'd get least natural results with silicone. Of course you can get natural results but it really depends on skin thickness, type of silicone where its put etc etc

What does this mean?

"The wide nostrils can be narrowed by excising a small amount of triangular skin just inside the nostril in a shadowed area where the scars heal well."

Is this alar base reduction?

Actually i have no clue on what the procedure's process is. Basically, i have an Caucasian nose as i am half asian half caucasian. I just want to do tip plasty for my bulbous tip, alarplasty and the surgery to remove the bumb on my nose bridge. Will i be needing silicone or whatever implants you name it?

xx you cannot advertise here.

If you are considering getting a higher bridge, you may want to try it out with a Filler like Juvederm to see if you like the look. Breaking your nose to build a new one is a big commitment.

Does anyone have any experience with doing tip augmentation without a bridge implant? I'm happy with the height of my bridge, I just don't like the shape of my nose (the tip kind of droops downward, which makes it look flat) I want more of a gently sloped shape. Would it be possible to just do hump removal and septal cartilage at the tip? Silicone implants seem really common in Korean rhinoplasty but I feel like it's bad to add something unnecessary when I feel fine about my nose bridge.

Hey, I'm pretty sure it can be avoided, that said I don't really know what your nose looks like. But often with western nose, there isnt a need for augmentation, which is why implants are needed.

I did my nose 3 years ago in Germany and the surgery was done by a nose specialist. I'm Asian and was first too afraid to do my nose in Europe because I was worried to get a nose that doesn't fit my face. Also in Europe it's most common to reduce the size of a nose but I wanted to build up my nose and not many surgeon do that here. My nose was alright, it was just quite flat and slightly curved upwards.

First I wanted to get my nose done in Korea or Japan but I didn't want to use a silicone implant because I can always see it if someone has an implant and that's not the look I wanted. I wanted a straight slim and tall nose without looking too fake. Back then I could only find surgeons there who only used silicone implants. It's less risky to use material from own body but only if the surgeon's skills are good enough as it's a very difficult process. I just don't want to worry about to get a revision one day when I get older and my skin gets thinner and the implant doesn't look good anymore. I went to a local plastic surgeon in my town and asked him about his opinion and he gave me the name of nose specialist in Germany. I did lots of research on him and deceided to get a consultation. When I met him, I told him about what kind of nose I want and my worries. He was very informative and I could tell that he has much knowledge on this process. We deceided to use my rib and ear cartilage and also a kind of human tissue (not mine and I forgot the name) to build up my nose bridge and nose tip. The lenght and width of nose was not changed because were already good. I deceided to go for the surgery.

3 years later, I'm very happy how my nose turned out and nobody can tell that it's not my natural nose. Well, since the surgery more people tell me that I look mixed but I think that's just because I already doesn't look too Asian before even tho I'm 100% east Asian. In Asia my relatives and strangers told me very often that I look like a Kpop or Jrock star lol. Funny how much a nose can change your looks. The nose really does fit my face and has extremely improved my overall looks. It was exactly the shape I wanted. No complications, no scars in the face, small scar on body, no revisions needed. Now I have the amazing nose of my grandpa which I unfortunately didn't inherit lol.

The only downside is the small scar on my body but otherwise it's so worth it! I really recommend this process over the silicone implant. You don't necessarily have to go to Asia for your nose. Just do your research very well and make sure to go to a really good nose specialist. And do not save money on your body. It's your body and you only have one which you doesn't want to mess up. Quality usually has it's price.

Glad you're happy with your experience, but did you experience much absorption since you used cartilage? I've heard that drastic changes are usually not possible if you're using your own tissue?

Right after surgery my nose was huge. Like really big and tall and wide. It took quite some time for the swelling to go down and even after swelling went down gradually, the nose is still slightly bigger than the final shape. After over 1 year the shape has reached its final form and has not changed since then. At least I didn't notice change. However, I noticed some absorption but I think it is not the cartilage that was absorbed but the human tissue the doctor inserted between bridge cartilage and skin. A tiny unevenness about 0,5mm deep has appeared on my nose bridge right near my eyebrows. But it's so tiny that only I can notice if I look really really closely. I think if nothing has been absorbed much after 3 years then the shape will probably not change much in the future. All changes has occured during the first year after surgery and my nose now actually looks better than at end of first year.
