word21
Hey guys does anyone worry about not being able to do certain things after getting a rhinoplasty? like for example.. what if your a smoker and you still want to get your nose job done. Should you quit smoking forever in able to avoid complications in the future? what about drinking ? snorting cocaine? (LOL) removing blackheads? getting facial? many of us have different life styles and I'm just curious about this.
wrenji
why does it matter whether it is rib or I shape? Isn't a 3mm I shape implant and a 3mm rib the same height?
eurasianbeauty
I started my search there and ended up here. Thanks for posting there. I might do so after I have my surgery.
eurasianbeauty
I'm not going to lecture you. I'll just give you facts. If you are going to smoke after your surgery, you might as well not get it. Smoking wrecks your skin and any doctor worth their time in medical school will tell you not to smoke after any surgery. The same goes for drinking. It might even be worse since it dehydrates you and that's definitely a bad idea after surgery which leaves you dehydrated anyway. But along with smoking, the doctor will tell you not to for a while. Coke will erode any nose, original or done. It's not good for your health with surgery or not and since it erodes the nose as I said, you will probably end up having to have another rhinoplasty. As far as skin care goes, I would get witch hazel and some cotton rounds to clean your face off with until the doctor says you can wash your face regularly. With rhinoplasty, you can't put pressure on your nose for a while, including wearing glasses, sleeping on your stomach or getting facials. HTH! bardsmanship
I'm planning on being in Seoul the second week of June 2016 (roughly 3-10 June). If anyone is going to be there around the same time and is interested in sharing accommodation at a hotel, please PM me! Rhinoplasty procedures I'm interested in: - short nose correction, e.g. with septal extension graft or tip augmentation - alar reduction, e.g. with alar base exicsion - bridge augmentation (to be honest, I'm reluctant to do this since there appear to be many cases where this procedure eventually results in patients having to undergo secondary rhinoplasties, regardless of whether cartilage or a silicone implant is used to make the bridge higher) Surgeons I've shortlisted, in no particular order: 1. Dr. Suh Man Koon from JW: he has 4 published papers on rhinoplasty, including one on correcting short noses. Also, he was an invited speaker for the 2015 Seoul Rhinoplasty Forum, in which he gave a talk in a session on secondary rhinoplasty, and at the 2014 Seoul Rhinoplasty Forum he gave 2 talks, one on alloplastic rhinoplasty and one on deviated nose. 2. Dr. Park Yang Soo from Dream Medical Group: he seems quite well known as a rhinoplasty specialist, and Dream is so far the only place that has said that the procedures I want can be done with closed rhinoplasty. Don't think he has any published papers or has spoken about rhinoplasty to his peers like the other surgeons I've shortlisted though. Maybe he just isn't much of an academic? 3. Dr. Paik Moo Hyun from 101 Plastic Surgery: he has published a paper on the correction of short noses, and gave a talk during a session on nasal tip plasty at the 2014 Seoul Rhinoplasty Forum. 4. Dr. Kim Jae Hoon from April31: he appears to have 5 published papers on rhinoplasty, including one on tip extension, one on septal extension grafting and one on alar retraction. I'm not 100% sure that all of those papers are authored by him though since he seems to have a common name. He also gave a talk at the 2015 Seoul Rhinoplasty Forum on contracted nose. As far as I can tell these surgeons are all quite well-known and I haven't seen any bad reviews of their rhinoplasty work. If you have had a bad experience / know of someone who has had a bad experience, please post and let me know!

wrenji
I have heard bad review of every one of those clinics besides 101 Plastic Surgery. I had all those clinics on my list too besides 101 and that is why I am very disheartened now because it feels like nearly every clinic has at least one or two bad reviews. Is it possible to find a surgeon with a perfect track record? Mine is revision too and I do not want to go through another surgery.
bardsmanship
I don't think it's possible to find a surgeon with a perfect track record, unless it's a young surgeon who's only done a few cases, but obviously that's not ideal either. I think about it this way: it's impossible to be 100% certain that I'll be satisfied, so the best I can do is find those surgeons whose work there's a high probability I'll be satisfied with. There is always going to be some risk with a procedure like this. For example, apart from the risk of not being satisfied with the results, every surgical procedure is associated with the risk of infection. A 1% risk of infection in clean, elective plastic surgery procedures is considered low already. So the bottom line is we have to accept some level of risk no matter what, or else give up on the idea entirely. Just out of curiosity, which surgeon did your primary rhinoplasty? summer31591
@wrenji you are right. Maybe I wasn't ready for a bad results. Seriously. Who would be? Symmetrical nose seems very hard to achieve. My nose is very weird now. Upturned and asymmetrical. People can see my asymmetrical nosethril directly from my frontal view. And. I don't know. I just think I should not have started this nose job journey. My surgeon said I need revision surgery. But I really can't handle the pain anymore. I am now almost 3 months post surgery. I still feel slightly pain here and there of my nose. Is it normal? My surgeon is overseas

bardsmanship
Do you mean his results are more subtle and not so obvious? (Smaller change than other surgeons?) Do you know of rhinoplasty surgeons who can achieve a big difference when it comes to results?
rawantas
Yup. I know what u mean. For me, i'd go with DA, Dream or The Line
