Just read your realself post. Seeing how much research you did on surgeons made me wish I had done the same before I got my rhino. Had mine done also by a popular ENT and facial cosmetic surgeon in Sydney. I had made it very clear that I didn't want a barbie/ski-slope nose and wanted to keep a little bump but unfortunately he gave me his 'signature nose'...my fault though, should've done more research and not persuaded by convenience/ proximity.
In hindsight, I would've gone to someone who specialises in ethnic rhinoplasties.

QUOTE="K Couture, post: 26184455, member: 471351"]yeah I did. I just went to the airport to get it. Definitely do that. Google translate and gps comes in very handy in Seoul, esp when ure in a taxi. Most drivers dont speak english but if you use google translate then it should be fine. Tho i also had a back up. I would go to the front desk and get them to write the address of the hotel and the clinics in korean so i can flash it to the drivers

Uhhh one thing tho do not leave the airport until you make sure the sim is working on ure phone. Me and my friend had issues getting the sim card to work on our iphones. Luckily we had not left the airport yet and went into the store and got the staff to tamper with the settings for us then it worked. I got my simcard from the convenience store at the airport.[/QUOTE]

hello Kcouture I’m a new member here at this forum, I’m actually on my 6 mos. post op from rib cartilage rhinoplasty, I totally get what you mean right now I felt like my nose is not straight specially on the tip, I’m not sure if the cartilage graft has shifted but it looks obvious on pictures that it’s not straight, I do have uneven nostrils too  but then only 6 months post op so I still have to be patient with it and see how will it turn out . It’s depressing though. I wish I made a lot of research before I did it, I got so scared when I went to the Philippines for consultation and that one surgeon I went to has a lot of patients waiting on his clinic with some infections through artificial implant he used on them. He uses goretex, that freaks me out that As soon as I found out about rib cartilage rhinoplasty I went with it without any further research, all I knew is that I wanted to feel more attractive but then after This surgery I went through I felt like It didn’t boosts me any self confidence, I know I’m still in the early phase of recovery and that I have to wait one full year til I see the result but it’s just frustrating at times. This is my first rhinoplasty and I did it in Korea. How I wished I should’ve made a lot of research, all I can say is that the healing process and the results from artificial implants seems aesthetically pleasing and faster, the swelling seems longer for rib cartilage graft I wonder why. And I felt like my nose is elongated now which I think doesn’t fit my asian features, I have a small face, short nose to begin with and this nose that I have now looks like I look older . Btw how’s your surgery at the Dream? Does it meet your expectations aesthetically? I’m wondering that if I probably need a revision in the future, that it might be hard to remove the rib cartilage graft since it will be absorb? And also where did you get your first rhinoplasty done and what type of material did the doctor used? Why you decided to do a revision? Sorry too many questions ask. I know you’re well experienced on research I hope I could get an advice from you. Thank you sis!

Hey everyone! I'm planning to have my nose done for the first time. I've done some research and it seems like for Asians, it is somewhat better to travel to Korea because the surgeons there have more experience with the Asian structure/aesthetic. However, since I'm not an US citizen & currently studying in the US at the moment, not having to fly out of America would save me some time & stress of visa issues when I come back to the US. Are there a huge difference between the quality of work (specifically, rhinoplasty for Asian - I'm female if that helps) in the US vs Korea? Will it be worth the stress to get a nose job in Korea?

Can you also recommend some decent suggestions for Asian rhinoplasty surgeons in the US? I have heard of Dr. Yoo in California, but his price (~ 20,000 USD) is a bit high for me...

Thank you!
