I hope I serve some hope and justice for foreigners like us when doing plastic surgery in overseas. 5-6 years ago, I did a incision double eyelid surgery in Singapore Novena and it is not very good as the doctor did not do ptosis correction with the surgery together. My double eyelid look weak. I also did epicanthloplasty in Singapore at another clinic (Gleneagles) but the method was traditional so it leave some scarring. I went Taiwan to do my first rhinoplasty with Dr Kao. He used to be with a hospital. Now he has his own clinic. He put ear cartilage in my nose tip. My nose tip doesn't look nice as I expected. After 2 to 3 years, my nose start to droop so I decide to fly to Korea to do revisional eyelid and rhinoplasty again with Pitangui. Dr Yoo put a silicon in my nose bridge to balance my side profile and reduce my ear cartilage in my nose tip. Now I am facing infection and extrusion of ear cartilage in the right side of my nose inside. My nose columella is also red. I am seeking online consultation and hope any of your experienced input can help me too! I have to go though research again as the few years research I have done before don't seem to be of use - those clinics are black listed or have negative reviews now. Or any special ENT specialist in Korea who can control infection or remove infection and at the same time help to do minor nose tip plasty? I have communicate to JW, April31, MVP, Dream and GNG. kkp1994 Posted May 17, 2017 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Yeah sure! I had my primary in my home home country and ended up with an upturned short nose! Surgeon took away like half of my bridge and i was way better before the surgery! Then i went to SK for my 1st revision and it was done by Dr.suh of JW. My bridge wasn't that low but as i wanted a straight and slimmer nose he suggested a silicone implant! I wasn't full aware of silicone implants at that time so went on with the surgery! Then when the cast was off, there were mixed feelings as there was some swelling where my bones were shaved and at the tip and a little asymmetry in left and right side; but, i no longer have a upturned short nose! It was like my dream nose; well, perfect in early op period! After a 2 weeks I started having pimples on my nose so i started looking up on the internet and then it hit me " silicone's infection rate is very high". Since then, i get panic attacks whenever i see a pimple on my nose! And with time my nose lost its definition; my perfect nose is long gone . The important thing is i have thick porous skin! So may be the change of shape is because of that; but i don't know for sure. What's more tiring is to be in constant pressure of having a silicone implant as I don't want it to get infected! I'm thinking of having a rib graft on the bridge so, i can stop worrying about infections! JW is saying that they are doing rib rhinoplasty and they would make my nose slimmer in the next revision but i haven't heard about their rib rhinoplasty anywhere on the web! I am not sure is it infection in my ear cartilage or silicon but I need to remove both to be sure. The infection is at ear cartilage area which is inside my right nostrils and it has pimple like thing coming out which is gross. And to do rib rhinoplasty, you may check out GNG as they are ENT doctor and is a hospital. I have put them as one of the place I am going to consult. I am going to Korea very soon due to the infection. Any chances that you are going soon? I will be happy to have a travelling buddy to go consult and have lunch dinner and shop together. kkp1994 Posted May 17, 2017 Share Posted May 17, 2017 If you are having an infection i guess you have to wait few more months to get another augmentation and tip plasty after the removal. Did you check it up with a surgeon in your area? During my primary rhino recovery i had a pimple like thing inside my nostril. But it went away with time. Did you try using oral antibiotics ? I myself is a medical student. So whenever i get a pimple like thing around i use Fucicort cream and an oral antibiotic. If it doesn't go away with these ; yeah most probably you are having an infection and you have to get the implants removed! I'm worried about rib rhino as well! But, it seems like my only option! i need to find a foc who does this frequently so that the risks would be nearly none! -_- I will be flying to SK during dec vacation on on the coming april ( need to find the fee and still studying) what do you think about VIP and april 31st? secretpignose Posted May 17, 2017 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Hi thanks for your suggestions. I am planning to get antibiotics tomorrow to control my infection with seeing my local doctor. I thought it is just a small pimple for about 6 months so I brush it away. Now it is getting bigger and redder so I decide to fly to Seoul to remove the implants in June. VIP is not on my consult list as I have read old reviews before and it give me a factory vibe. April 31st is on my list but they quote me 8 mil won for my nose revision so I am debating. I am going through the same thing right now I want to have my implant removed but the doctor said to wait six months so did you go through with having the implant removed without replacement ? I have been a long time lurker on these pages, and have read through all the pages from Asian Nose Job 1-3. Just thought that I should repay the good karma and advice that I have received from these forum sites that I have been on and also as a thank you to the doctor. After years of deliberation on which clinic and doctor to choose. I ended up going to Doctor Kao Chuan Hsiang. All I can say is that he is really a fantastic doctor. He is the type of doctor that truly wants the best for his patients. Even going so far to tell me that I actually didn't require a double eyelid surgery as I already had double eyelids. (Who does that!!?) I feel so lucky to have found such a doctor amidst the mountains of reviews here. I was initially set on going to Korea, but the amount of faked "reviews", and the language barrier really put me off. The worst part of the process for me would be the first day right after surgery. I am the type that bruises very easily but I did not bruise as much as I thought I would. At 1 week and 4 days post op. I am really extremely happy with the results.
