Paranasal augmentation issues ^_^

Recommended Posts

I decided to start a new thread because I think there are many others (like me) who are still very confused ab paranasal augmentation.

Paranasal augmentation is usually done with rhinoplasty to correct
- midface depression
- protruding mouth
- thick upper lip
- nasolabial fold

It usually makes Asian look mixed and more noble.

More details : http://www.seoultouchup.com/paranasal-augmentation/

Paranasal Augmentation could be done using:
- Silicone/Goretex
- Autologous material such as bones, fat graft

Im considering to get Paranasal Augmentation this 16th October but I prefer autologous material because I dont like foreign objects in my face. However, fat graft is a no no because I already have it but it doesnt last

In the "Nose Job 3 thread", a forumer suggested Dermis. But I sent emails asking advices from several clinics in Korea and they all replied that they use Silicone/Goretex for paranasal augmentation. So anyone has any experience/advice about Dermis?

Also, Im really concerned by the fact that the smile post op will change and if you smile, you can feel (sometimes even see) the implant if it is Silicone/Goretex/Bone. Many had to go back to get the implant removed later. The problem of distorted smile doesnt occur with fat graft.

So those who got it removed right after the surgery, could you please describe more?

I wonder how many still keep the implant after the surgery, but i guess not much, maybe only 1 or 2 in this forum

I did the Paranasal Implants a week ago and it does change the way I smile. Now I can't even recognize myself when I smile. I know that I just had my surgery done and it may improve in time but I have a really bad feelings about it and I'm thinking about removing it already. I'll going to visit the doctor tomorrow to see whether I can remove it now.

A word of advise, think twice when you decided to have Paranasal Implants, do some research on it before you make up your mind. I didn't do it and I'm regretting it now!

Good luck everyone.

I'm interested in paranasal implants. I have really bad nasolabial folds when I smile and this seems to be the fix other than injections.

Did yours implants get any better? Do you still want them removed because of your smile?

Don't do it. Paranasal implant will cause your smile to become crooked and unnatural. And our smile is such an important part of everyday social interaction, so don't mess it up.

There are other alternatives such as a thread lift (EZ lift). Once your skin and muscle are pulled upward, then the nasolabial folds will disappear, and it gives you a more youthful appearance. Some people even have V-line naturally after having all the extra fat and skin pulled. Plus, your jaw line will become sharper. I'm considering EZ lift now, except I don't know how long the effect will last.

i've considered it too, because i have... is it nasolabial folds? those folds that go from the middle of your nose or your nostrils down to the sides of your mouth. those, i hate mine when i smile, i hate them, i'm not sure what to do, fg, paranasal implant or some kind of facelift... how does it make your smile crooked? can you show a picture? i've never seen how it makes your smile bad.

Many people who underwent that surgery said it caused the "joker's smile".

One girl wrote:

"When I smile the paranasals restrict me from showing all my top teeth so I want them made smaller or removed and I don't like the fact I can feel them every time I laugh however others that have had Paranasal implants have no problems especially if they had a gummy smile but I didn't. I think mine are too low. If you look closely you can see them in my avatar by the light from the camera flash."
