I didn't visit any PS in my country as I heard that they charge just for consultation and the charges for surgery is very expensive and results not so fantastic. I hvnt start compiling my questions yet though. Still doing research on which clinics are worthwhile visiting. Once I shortlist 3 clinics, I will start to compile my list. How abt u?

Looks expensive compared to what I see other forumers wrote abt their quotes.

I've been to LA just this Feb. Love the shopping there. Yes, let me know if u will be going to Korea. I hvnt book my air ticket yet but I'm already feeling nervous. 85% of me wants to go badly, 15% of me is so very scared. And spending Xmas in a foreign country sounds pretty depressing.:cry:

I think one extra day is okay to keep the stitches in. I guess it would have been a nice Christmas gift to have the stitches out.
In re: to other post, I'm from LA, so not looking forward to the long flight and being away from home during the holidays but yes, if i am there at the same time, I'd love to meet up for morale support. I am nervous having to recover, in a country where i don't know the language.

I have no choice cos this is the only time when I can take leave from work to do PS. I am not sure if it is more expensive but air ticket will cost me about S$780, I think. Is 10 days ok? I was thinking of 10 days too cos I read some forumers only spend 7 days, if I can remember correctly.

Yes, I also want my eyes to be more dramatic... Regen told me that is called outfold eyes. I want that type of eyes. Currently one of my eyes is parallel(similar to outfold) and tapered. Not many people can see it is unbalanced but I can see it whenever i draw eyeliner.

Yes, i want to do nose surgery too.

I noticed too on Banobagi that the eyes aren't as dramatic! I want a more noticable fold with possibly some cutting on inner corners. Eye surgery is SO important because I noticed that if they eye folds are too big, it can make you look sleepy all the time!

Are you getting nose surgery too??

I have been able to talk to some. Yes, consultation fees are ridiculously high, but I wanted to ask questions to help me when I go to korea. For example. When I consulted with a couple of doctors who specialize in asian eyes, I asked why epi isn't done much in the states and they explained, so I am going to ask the doctors in korea to clarify their procedures .

What surgeries were you going to do again? I want teium for eyes, but Idont know what else Ishould do next to prioritize.

Yes LA has great shopping! The grove, pasadena and americana are my favorite places to shop.
I feel the same u do about this trip. I want this a lot, but I am so nervous to confirm a flight.

I decided to join after reading hundreds of pages on this thread...this thread used to be slower in pace and just picked up (REALLY picked up the pace) within the last 1 yr.

Unlike many of you, I've actually undergone 3-D zygoma + Vline (revision, I'd had mandible reduction in Bangkok before, but results were minimal) so I went to Seoul last year. In two-three weeks, it will have been 1 yr since my surgeries. I had it @ Regen (I'm surprised it's not mentioned that often, I mean, real actual patients from Regen didn't post at all here).
My experiences are posted on Cozycot forum.

The reason I join this forum is because in March I'll be in Seoul for 2 days...I am wondering what procedures I can get done in 2 days? Fat graft? Or maybe non incisional suture method for eyes? Anyway my top candidates are JW and Teuimp if I want to get my eyes done.

I'm surprised so many of you stay at Highland Hotel. I stayed there for 3 night and couldn't take it anymore, so I moved. But I didn't take the Grand/Suite there...maybe if I had, it would have been better. The hallways there smelled bad (cigarette smokes) and it wafted into my room's bathroom. In 10 days, I stayed at 3 different hotels.

Reading all postings from folks who had VLine + zygoma within the past year, I felt like a fool. I didn't bargain at all...stupid me...should have bargained. Cozycot does not have too many forumers who posted about bargaining..and I'm always bad at bargaining. The consultant said the translator I brought already knew the prices, so the clinic couldn't overcharge me. So I believed the consultant. Paid 15M for zygoma + revision Vline. The prices was just average I guess (it was a revision mandible work, remember so it's supposed to be more expensive), but I should have bargained. Never hurt to ask, right?
Considering what some of you have been quoted, 5M for zygoma, 8M for Vline, plus 2M for revision work, that comes to 15M. If I had bargained, I probably could have knock off 2-3M ....oh well, life goes on.

I won't answer too many questions here, if you want to read my experiences, just go to that other forum. One year post-op, my lower right chin and lip are still partially numb. I notice slight asymmetry between my left and right jaw (people probably won't notice it - Myself is the best critic of my body). The result? I still don't have a sharp Vline, but it's something in between a U and V (more oval shape) after I got Botox shot 3 months ago. I definitely look better now than 6 months ago. Considering I had a box as my face before though, this is already a major improvement.

In the past, I'd always focused on my boxy face and getting it reduced to an oval shape. Now, even with the zygoma reduced, I still have a wide face; my skull is wide. Thank God I decided to do my zygoma at the sametime as my Vline, both procedures in one go!
I can't post my pics here...I am still too far from the pretty girls on this forum like Dan4me (is that her name? the girl who went to ID).

Do you have any sagging problems after a year vline and cheekbone reduction? Did you do face lift procedure a year ago?You mentioned that you got Botox shots, does it mean we need to get botox shots even after vline?

This will be a very long post.. so please skip if you don't need other's stories..Must apologize first, as I will be typing along as I think, might not make sense sometimes, I will not be editing it.

So I am here to share my story and hopefully it might help some of you..

I contacted Zoe a few months back and flew here on the 11th, booked in with consultations with Regen, ID and Banobagi for Zygoma, V Line and Rhinoplasty.

I stayed at Young Dong hotel, which is really convenient because they have a patient menu with porridge if you want to stay in. There is also convenience store just 2 minutes away, and I found a Chinese restaurant behind the hotel, which was great! Black Bean noodle.. YUM!

A little about me, I have never been uncomfortable with my looks, There wasn't much that I REALLY needed to change if you know what I mean... I had fillers before in my nose and I liked the effect, and I think my face is too round.. But there isn't one specific thing that I think is wrong with myself that I hate.

I would like a little pointy nose and a higher bridge though.. Just something a little more than what I have.

Anyways, so Zoe as you know is super wonderful and nice, we went to Banobagi first. The Doctor was nice and spoke English. He said the ratio of my eyes and face is fine, and if I reduce the size of my face it will make my eyes look too big. But he thinks I have a mouth protruding problem.. (gummy smile) So he recommened:
1. Move Chin forward 4.5mil KW so, mouth is still protruding but chin will hide it.
2. Rhinoplasty 5.5mil
He said my bridge was ok from the side but wide on the front, so he was going to push them towards the middle, so it looks higher.

Took many X Ray, CT Scans etc..

Then we went to ID. I was told I had to pay 50K KW for scans, which I was okay with. Took all the Xrays, photos etc. Then we waited, and waited and waited. Waited for 2.5 hours and didn't even see the consultant.

This was eating into my last appointment so I decided to skip ID.

Met with consultant really quickly after all the Scans and Photos, she was a little pushy and told me my face was not symmetrical and I need this and that, made me a little mad actually. Then I met with Doctor Lee (the guy that sits in the middle for all Regen photos) for V Line, I told him I thought my face was too big, but then I also noticed my protruding mouth problem. He said he agreed with the mouth problem, so he only recommended in moving the chin forward and forget the Zygoma and V line.

While he spoke, he made reference to my photos and X rays, so I understood him quite well.

Then I met with the Nose Doctor, which was also quite good.

Moving the chin forward is Mini V Line.

On wards to the consultant, price bargaining. She gave me the following prices:
1. rhinoplasty - 5mil
2. Zygoma - 5 mil
3 Mini V Line - 9mil
4. Mini Lift (in case of saggy skin) 4.5mil

So all up I can buy a car.

I insisted with Mini V Line and nose, and she kept pushing me to do zygoma and mini v line instead, got a bit annoying.


So after I was determined with nose and chin, the bargaining began. Remember everyone who goes to Seoul for surgery, at least bargin 2-3 mil off the price they give you and be very stubborn about it!!!! Offer lower than what you want to pay, and slowly bring it up. Use I will make decision straight away as a bargaining chip!

Final price she gave me was 13mil. Zoe and I bargained it down to 10mil.

Big difference right! This was already 8pm and straight away did tests and blood tests and more X rays. Booked in for surgery for the next day.

Had more Xrays in the morning.
I checked in my room, and met with both Doctors to confirm what I wanted done, changed into the right clothes. Then I was on the surgery table. I got really nervous, and was thinking why in the world am I here!? Regretting it already.. dear oh dear...

I was out quite soon, the nurses were real nice and the translator stayed until I fell asleep. It was so hard to fight the drip! 5 seconds after i was told go to sleep, I am gone.

Then I remember been woken, they shook me and shook me, and I didn't want to wake up. I couldn't stand up straight, my surgery was at 11am and it was 7pm when I woke up. The put me into a wheel chair and wheeled me into my room. I remember someone asking me if I want to stay the night and I said Yes.

I was sooo sleepy couldn't even walk! After i was put in bed, Zoe came again and squeezed me hands and told me I did great, everything is fine. Thank God for Zoe.. .. I strongly, strongly recommend her.

The 6 hours after surgery was absolute the worst, I was regretting every single second. I was in pure agony. I thought I was going to die. YES! It was that bad. It was because I was so dehydrated from not eating and drinking the night before, and not allowed water for 6 hours after surgery. My throat was really really painful because of the breathing tube they stuck there during surgery.

Every time I tried to swallow spit, it was pain X 100. I was counting every single second that passed until I was allowed water. My nose didn't hurt, but my face was aching with a dull pain. Zoe stayed until 9.30pm when a translating nurse came to work. I was in and out of sleep during that time. It was the time between 9.30 -11pm when I was allowed water... pure pure agony. I will seriously never go through this again.

So if you want to do multiple surgeries, do it once so you only suffer once!

When I was finally given water, it won't go down because my body was not used to it. It made me cough, cough cough which was a lot of pain for my face.

Then when I swallowed the water, my throat was in so much pain again. I know you probably think I shouldn't complain about my throat, but that really is the most painful part of the surgery!

My nose was fully packed with cotton, and I couldn't breathe at all with my nose. the thought of myself suffocating in the hotel because I couldn't breathe through my mouth crossed my mind.

I couldn't sleep during the first night, my cold packs were changed hourly by the nurse. The next day my face was so swollen I couldn't even open my eyes. I also had blood in the white part of my eye. The packing in my nose was really uncomfortable.

I checked out at 11am with Zoe, and was told the packing in my nose needs to stay another night. bought a bucket load of pumpkin juice which helps to deswell and went back to the hotel. My chin was wrapped in bandage and so was my nose. My nose was in a plaster. My face was really, really swollen. I bought a hoodie and a face mask immediately after. My head felt really heavy and I couldn't walk probably.


Upon discharge, I was given gargle water and medication for the next 7 days.
For the next 5 days, I went back to Regen daily for shots and checkups and cleaning of my nose. Zoe was there every time. We had dinner a few times..

Day 1
Because I only had Mini V Line, meaning the jaw bone is not cut, I can chew with the back of my teeth. For the first few days, Zoe went to the convenience store and stocked up on porridge, banana and milk and juice for. Didn't really felt like eating anyways.
I stayed at hotel and watched DVDS ( I brought Asian dramas with me). I really didn't feel like getting out and walking. Sleeping was a nightmare because I can't breathe with my nose, and my mouth and throat was really dry from breathing through the mouth.

Day 2,
Swelling is still as bad, and I walked the 25 min to Regen and back for my checkup. They finally removed the packing. That was a little uncomfortable. Couldn't see very well as my eyes are still super swollen. I pulled up the hoodie and covered my face with the face mask and looked like a bank robber. I was takings meds three times a day after meals. I forced myself to eat something always. Even a banana. Meds on an empty stomach is bad for you. Gargled like there is no tomorrow. Iced non stop with ice packs and iced pumpkin juice.

Cleaning of the wounds hurt a little, but definitely tolerable.

Day 3.
Still swollen, but the pink around the eyes and face has turned darker into a purple. I can open my eyes a little now, and can finally see. I walked back and to again. Sleeping is not that bad. I ignore the propped up pillows and just slept as normal. Did continue to ice. I have had bleeding/runny nose since the first day, but now nose discharge is turning clear.

Day 4,
All bruises appeared, I have two huge black eyes. Like BLACK PURPLE eyes, but at least I can now wear my contact lenses. They removed the chin bandage and gave me a head compression band to wear. My chin is numb. I can feel my lips and face, but chin, numb. I stopped taking the painkiller for sleeping. I wasn't in that much pain. Only swollen, the feeling of skin stretched.

no noticable sagging for my zygomas. But yes, a little sagging because of the Vline, on one side. No facelift done.
It depends on how big your masseter muscles are. Mine had been removed back in Bangkok years ago (back in 2005) but my understanding is, they can grow back as long as you overuse them (ie eating hard to chew foods or grinding your teeth when sleeping). I do the latter. I'm not sure if the doctor at Regen removed my masseter muscles again. They are such big muscles. When I went to get the Botox shots, the doctor who did the shot had warned me that because I didn't have much left, the difference would be subtle. But after a few months after the Botox shot, I actually notice quite an improvement in my appearance.

When doctors operate and take out masseter muscles, they don't remove all of them...some of them still remain. When you overuse the muscles, they grow back again and become big again.

I did most of my research online cos of the high consultation fees with the PS in my country charges.

I am going to do nose and eye surgery. Nose is a definite yes to do for me. For my eyes, some of the korean PS who emailed me back said that i don't really need that but I was thinking since I am going to do PS there, might as well do eyes too. I am also thinking of I shld do chin as well.Very greedy of me... lolx.

I was browsing teium website last nite again and they seem really good with eyes but they havn't gotten back to me yet with the costings.

Once I hear from them and if I feel that they know what I want, then maybe I will have the courage to book my airticket cos so far, only Regen seems in line with what I want, except that they recommend implants for nose which i don't want so I'm waiting for their reply to see if i can use my own tissue instead.

I'm hoping both of them can reply me soon so that I can book my tics and hotel. Also, I want to shortlist another PS clinic, just in case.

Did doctor recommend the procedure to you to deal with the sagging problem when you had vline. Do we need to go through that procedure? That will be annoying that we still need to get botox shots even after bone cutting.

Botox shots target masseter muscles, not jaw bones. Jaw bones are bones (hard), muscles are soft tissues. Banobagi for example, often includes masseter muscle reduction in their Vline quote. There are folks who have big facial bones, with thin soft tissues (like Demi Moore). There are folks who have small facial bones but thick soft tissues. I am most unfortunate, I have big skull, big zygoma bones, big square jaws, and very thick soft tissues. I was very skinny and people think my head was just out of proportion.

I'd always known about the sagging risk, but even with sagging risk, I was willing to undertake that risk for an oval face. I've always knows I would go for facelift when I get older, so this sagging risk didn't daunt me as much. Most people in their 20s who undergo vline or zygoma reduction, I don't think they'll get sagging. First they are young (I had it in my late 30s), and most people only get their bones cut slightly compared to mine. I have a little sagging because I had the surgery in my late 30s, then the Regen doctor took a LOT of my jaw bones.
