Thanks!

The feet was actually better. Below was its scary state for the 1st 2 weeks. I was worried but learnt it was normal. For those considering calves lipo, be prepared, but don't worry!

Hey everyone,

I have done surgeries today at Chungdam U clinic. For eyes, I have done epi+ptosis+non incisional. So far, I'm liking the results as there is not major swelling on the first day. The doctor and surgeons are really caring and professional. All if it was not pain at all even though I was awake throughout the surgery. I liked how the doctor tells you step by step what he is doing next and what to expect so they will not be any suprises and the fact that he also talks to you to calm you down during the surgery.

Photos will be up soon!

Hey, congrats on your surgeries! Hope you have a nice recovery.

How was the clinic itself? Busy? Staff look pretty?

Hey how much did they charge you and what places did you visit? I think lots of ulzzangs went their for surgery lol. What made you choose that place over the rest?

Thank you very much.

Clinic is located in cheongdam, a high end area. There's always customers, when I'm there second time. Their schedule is full on weekends. The prettiness of the staff should not be a determining factor lol.
Ie banobagi staff does looks pretty but they have not really good reputation. There were incidences. Also some of them could have done it long ago.

I was really comfortable with my doctor. He listens and understands what you want.

I have consulted View as well, I did not like how the surgeon did not listen to me. And it's scary when he only give 15 mins consultation. And when i looked thro the BA pictures, the eyes are nice but however, it looks fake (may not suit me) and takes long recovery time. They have recommended no epi and incisional and ptosis correction. With these, I would prob have really Huge eyes(looking at BA) which may not be suitable for my face. It really depends if you like those eyes which may be suitable for you, then go for view!

I really liked how Chungdam U listens and the thorough consultation using the equipments.

Big names like Regen, Cinderella, Dreams may be too busy to listen to your concerns.

And just like other forummers, I was scared and shivering my *** before the surgery, Surgeon really patient and precise. My eyes are even now . Swelling have subside, weird.

It's not cheap. All in as I have excess skin to be cut off as well. Ie epi+ non incisional double thread + removal of excess skin for 4.5mil krw. You can bargain it for lower if its cash basis.

Yes they are popular with ulzzangs. Funny thing is that, they (both consultants and surgeons)will tell you what's the best features that suits your face structure. Like I told them I wanna do lateral canthoplasty as well, they advise me against it.

They have alot of good reviews. I have independently search on my own. So happen, my translator mentioned about it as well. From my judgement, she is also independent from Chungdam. I'm more comfortable with Dr Lee than the eye surgeon in view. Like you guys, I have booked and confirmed my consultations with other clinics, dreams, regen, banobagi and Cinderella. I hereby tabulate their bad points.

Dreams- admin staff is extremely rude. They hangs up on you multiple times when you speak to them in English. And they have in house translator, equally rude as well. I was still determined to go, until I heard from that Dreams is famous for natural look. And one of the forummers and my Korean's friend have to go for revision with other clinic after consultation, I said hell no. Strike it off!

Regen- I liked their in house translator but they could not give me the surgeon that I want.

Banobagi- their results on line seems good. I heard bad reviews from ppl in Korea. I immediately cancelled it.

Cinderella - in house translator is polite. Price is abit too high. Also i heard they charge for X-ray and medication. That's really a turn off.

Smaller clinics does have advantages. They can't switch to clinic. Their chief will be hands on.

Hey!

Thanks for the feedback, Chungdam U was recommended by my translator for facial contouring but their changes are too drastic for my liking and i haven't seen a lot of feedback from international patients.

I guess you do have to feel comfortable with the surgeon before choosing your clinic. Its probably a good job that you didn't go to View for your eyes, they are not known for their eyes!

Oh, i only asked about how pretty the staff were because i've yet to read someones experience where they've said that the staff were not pretty at all. I'm not gonna use it to determine whether or not i choose that certain clinic :P

In my most recent response from Shimmian Clinic, they advised me to do Zygoma reduction, THEN rhinoplasty revision, but to get consulted before I do the zygoma surgery.
I can't tell if it's the doctor or consultant or whoever who is responding to my emails, but they are very nice and seem interested. They said that if they knew my time of stay in Korea, they will figure out a detailed schedule for me.

Very thoughtful of them  !!!

I'm not going until next year, so I should probably tell them that. I am pretty set on Shimmian for nose revision though

Hi All,

My turn to give a review.

Beforehand, have tried to booked Zoe or Nicole but they were booked already so I decided to proceed on my own since I have company to take care of me after surgery.

Was planning to do epi, ptosis correction, lateral canthoplasty on this trip. And was considering Rhinoplasty as well.

Ended up doing Epi and Ptosis correction incisional with Teium Dr Kwon.

Arrive in Seoul on 6th Jan Sunday.

Had scheduled consultations with ID, Teuim and Banobagi on 7th Jan Mon.
And consultations with View, Park Wonjin and Migo on 8th Jan Tues.
Most of these appointments were booked through email 1-2months before.

7th Jan Mon

ID Clinic
Appointment with ID clinic was at 10am. Had to wait awhile to see the consultant and they provided an english translator who could speak fluent english. Hospital was pretty big but felt it was too stiff and professional?

Told them I wanted to see Dr Kim Jun Sung and they told me his schedule is pretty busy for the next few days so they will arrange for another doc who also specialise in Eyes and Nose to see and operate on me instead.

I was like...NO...I want Dr Kim Jun Sung and only him. So they left, and after 30mins, I did manage to see Dr Kim. Dr Kim was pretty nice. However, didn't feel comfortable with ID because of what the consultants said earlier. Plus the many rumous about changing to Junior docs during surgery.
Especially when I requested for Dr Kim and they saying he his schedule is packed and they will get another doc makes me loose on confidence in them.

In addition, I show them a picture of the eyes I want and ask them what needs to be done to have that effect, the consultants reply me, the more you do, the better effect you have. :smash:

Charges: 250,000 ptosis, 130,000 epicathoplasty, 150,000 lateral canthoplasty

Ended everything at around 11.30, just nice to go have lunch and walk over to Teium.

Teuim Clinic
Appointment was at 1pm and I reach 5mins early. Waiting area had alot of koreans and I felt reassured. Even though I am not sure which doc they are seeing. :P

Environment felt cosier and more relax. Told the recepts my name and I got to see the consultant withnin like 5-10mins. They also provided an English translator. Consultant met me for a few mins to confirm the procedures that I wanted before she called Dr Kwon in.

Dr Kwon came in, look at my eyes, told me I have ptosis and recommended incisional with epi. He then open up the computer and start to show me before and after photos of ptosis cases that he had worked on previously without me asking to see them.

I showed him the pictures I wanted, and he advise that it was tapered to parellel lids. I also told him I wanted Lateral canthoplasty however he advise against it as he said in my situation, lateral canthoplasty won't have much of a difference. He suggested to just do Epi and ptosis first, if I'm still not happy with the eyes, I can always do canthoplasty in the future.

This was diff from the email, as over email consultations, he recommended epi, ptosis and lateral base on my pictures.
Felt reassured that he was not just all out to earn my money.

Dr Kwon then open out his excel file schedule on the spot, and started to see when he can squeeze me in. At first he suggested Wed 8pm, but I didn't want it so late. So he and the consultants started to discuss if they are able to squeeze me in on wed or thurs afternoons. As I preferred Morning, they decided to schedule me on Thurs Morning 9am. The consultant said that Dr Kwon will start work earlier so that he can squeeze me in. :wlae::wlae:

Although this was my 2nd consultation only, I felt comfortable enough to decide on the spot and put a deposit.

Charges: 3.7mil for ptosis correction incisional, and epicanthoplasty.

Banobagi
Ended up canceling this appointment as I was not that interested in them anyway.
Ended up exploring skin clinics instead. Shall elaborate on those in another post.

8th Jan Tuesday

View Clinic
Appointment at 10am. Clinic had a cosy and comfortable environment too.
Consultants were really friendly. They provided a mandarin consultant but as I told them I was more comfortable with English, they got Ms Kim to assist instead.
She explained that she wasn't a actual translator so she may not be that good with medical terms. However she was reallly really nice!

Only requested to see Dr Choi for my nose since my eyes have already been booked with Teuim.
Dr Choi suggested shaving of hump on my nose, sillicon implant, tiplasty and alar reduction.
Charges: 5mil won.

However, felt that I didn't have enough time for Rhinoplasty so I decided to leave it for my next trip.
Felt really comfortable with View Clinic and Dr Choi so most likely come back to View should I come back to KR for rhinoplasty.

Park Won Jin
Appointment was at 12, reach early and waited close to an hour before I got to see the consultant.
Honestly, this clinic is crazily packed. Its a madhouse and I couldn't wait to leave.
Felt like its a factory doing mass plastic surgery.
I didn't even ask to see the doc cause I know that I will definately not be choosing this place.
In addition, the consultant tried to show me how well her nose healed as it was done at PWJ 5mths ago. However, I noticed that she had uneven nostrial holes. Like 1 was alot bigger then the other. Bad nose job? :nogood:

And whatever price quoted is for the other docs. If you want Dr Park to do it, add a 20%.
Anyway procedures the consultant recommended since I didn't see the doc:
Alar reduction, tiplasty, shave down the hump, sillicon implant
Charges: 450,000 for normal docs. Dr Park is 5,040,000 won.

Migo
Appointment with Migo at 2pm, Reach around 2.15..wait till 3.15pm and didn't even get to see a consultant. Lobby had lots of koreans and all already went in to see the docs and left but I'm still waiting.
Decided to ask the recept how long more must I wait. They say another 30mins - 1hr.
Decided to walk out. So ended up not consulting Migo at all.

Next, Review on Skin Clinics.

As my surgery is on 10th Jan, I visited 2 dematologist on 7th Jan Mon.

Oracle Skin Clinic - At Apgujeong, next building to Hsu Hsu.
This was recommended to me by the translator at Teium.

Clinic was packed with locals. Young, Old, Male, Females. They had alot of staff as well.
Quite a few staff can speak Mandarin. However English, think there is only 1 translator called Lee.

Saw the consultant and was recommended IPL for my freckles. As I was interested in mole removal, was also recommended CO2 laser.
They gave me a price of 200,000 for 1 session for both treatments.

Didn't ask to see the doctor as I have not decided on anything yet

Hsu Hsu Skin Clinic - At Apgujeong exit 3.
Read about it on forums and online.

Could tell this was a expensive clinic. Catered more to foreigners and expats. Consultants and doctors could speak fluent English. There is a consultation fee of 10,000 won though.

However, you get to see the doc immediately instead of having to see a consultant first.
Doc recommended Gmax, Fraxel,PRP.
He showed me the before and after photos of a patient after 1 treatment, I must say the results are amazing.

Was also interested in mole removal and he recommended CO2 for that.

However, the prices here are really high. For Gmax, Fraxel, PRP - 1,620,000won.
Mole removal is 10,000-30,000 each mole.

-----------------------------

At the end, I went back to Oracle the next day, saw the doc, and got IPL done and moles removed.
Had anethesia cream for 30mins before they started the treatment.
IPL was like getting a slap each time the machine zaps.
However its my first time doing IPL and I have a super low tolerence for pain.

End result, all my freckles turn into dark spots. Was told they will scab and drop off after 7days. Shall update again next week with before and after photos.

Oracle

I like Oracle, the Doctor is really mellow and down to earth and their in-house English person (Elaine or Ellen?) is super nice. I've done a couple of treatments there. Consultations are free.
My treatments: Skin scaling (kind of like a chemical peel/facial), mole removal and laser toning, acne steroid shots

BLS Skin Clinic
This place is not marketed towards foreigners, but the doc speaks English. It seemed OK, and I just did an acne steroid injection.

Hsu Hu

I'm not a fan of Hsu Hu, the doctor is really nice guy though and their marketing is really slick and geared towards foreigners, but I got a treatment here and it left some small scars/marks on my skin. There is someone who posted a really bad permanent skin damage experience via lasers. The doc talks the talk, but I think he's still too young to walk the walk. I think this place is fine for facials, but they don't seem too careful with lasers.

Teng Teng

The doctor here speaks perfect English, but he kind of has an arrogant, condescending and socially awkward vibe (Like a friendly and milder version of a Korean Dr. House). Like if you mentioned you went to another clinic, he'll make it sound like that was a mistake, and the right move would have been to see him (that's when I feel like doing the jerking off gesture). He essentially prescribes per-assembled cosmetic treatments packages, and his approach is very conservative and safe. Like he'll go more for the milder and long term treatment cycle as opposed to an aggressive and riskier one that might yield results faster. Kinda similar pricing scheme to Hsu Hu and oracle, but little more expensive I believe. Anyway, no complaints about the treatment just kind of a dick in my opinion. Consultations cost 10,000 won ($10)

------

Ones I want to try next

- Leaders - I hear this a decently priced and honest practice from locals
- Dream Skin - Did a consult here, and doctor is very nice and perfect English
- Woo & Hann’s http://www.wooskin.co.kr/ (This place is like a skin hospital, multiple floors, seems like it's real legit true dermatology and cosmetic treatments) - I went here, but left because it was so busy.
