Oh man, i hope its not the translator i'm currently engaging with! Do you mind PMing me which translator it is?

This is mostly true i think. Its definitely a lot of money to drop on a surgery, even more so when you're saving for a wedding (congrats btw). Having looked at Han's b/a's, he definitely leans on the conservative side, his changes are either very minimal or very subtle. I guess its what you're after at the end of the day. I would say to be wary of him using a technique that other surgeons don't know about though. How do you know hes not trying to cheat you just cos you're a foreigner?

hellow everyone!!

I am new member here. I am thinking of doing my double eyelids in April (my plan is on April).
I am looking forward for more pple to share their double eyelid experience in Regen, Teuims and Banobagi. I am having difficulties email Regen from their website. Whenever I want to submit my email, it pops up a warning in korean words which I dont get at all. I only emailed Teuims so far and i am pretty happy with their quick response.

By the way, anyone here have any information about facelifting? Which clinic is the best for facelifting? I am helping my mum for survey. I dont have any korean friends so it kinda hard for me to collect information about korea clinic from locals. My mum did her upper/lower blespharoplasty in BK before. Actually her results is considered good enough but I think there might have another better clinics for facelifting. Please mind to share your information.

You can opt to have a private shower area. But for toilet, it's shared. The place is clean. There's rice and soup for all day serve. Jinwoo was really helpful and nice. The place is like backpacker style. It's nothing fancy but basic things are there. The best part is that it's only 2 min walk from Seochu station, which is along the green line.

Regen is at apujeong station. Mini room is at Seochu. It takes 30 min using subway. You can take exit 8 when you alight from the apujeong station. Walk straight ahead, you will see loads of clinics like Dreams ( *cough* you can skip this clinic), grand (opposite of dreams), JW, jK etc.

I'm going to expose the truth now. The damn translator is none other than ZOE. She is from china. She is not honest and sides the clinics and pressure patients to do surgery in ID clinic because she earns commission and also she was ex ID consultant. This woman here, pressured my friend to continue her surgery despite her not sing comfortable to go with the surgery. My friend wanted to cancel the surgery and this woman said "there's no refund if you cancel the second time!!!"

Well guess what, with our effort, not understanding a word in Korean, we manage to get a full refund for surgery. Zoe is not honest because any damn cancellation in surgery would tarnish her image and reputation to the clinics.

She wants you to pay her upfront even before your stitches an bandages are removed!! Furthermore, she may or may not accompany you to the clinic for check ups and cleanings. How world of a different from my translator!

All in all, she did not do a good job as a translator. Not only she is rude and self centred ( cough, all she mention is money), she wasn't even there for you during the surgery! My translator accompanied me throughout the surgery.

For me, a translator is suppose to be patient and demure. Objective mind and helpful. She must not help you to decide but rather just translate. In this aspect, Zoe has failed.

If you're thinking about having more procedures done at the same clinic, she will charge you additionally! She told my friend" my schedule is tight, I will have to charge you accordingly for bringing you for consultation"

Just imagine having an *** giving you an additional pressure despite having pressure and fears of surgeries.

Ps: we have supporting emails on how this woman replied my friend! Looking back at them really pisses me off!

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I've been reading a few pages for a couple of weeks.
I've been e-mailing with dr Park from OZ Clinic for a few days to get a rhinoplasty in July. It's 5 months from now but I still feel nervous just talking about it. I have heard dr Park was good with calf reduction and rhinoplasty. And that he has experience with African American rhinoplasty. I know that African and Asian noses have some similarities, but it's still nice to know he has the right experience. Does anyone else know another clinic that has a good name when it comes to (ethnic) rhinoplasty?

Eventhough just by e-mailing with dr Park I have a good feeling about him and his clinic. Because of reading a LOT about him. But I don't want to take any risks and only have 1 consultation.

That sucks to hear - I have never met Zoe, and your assessment could be 100% true, but a lot of other people have spoken very highly of her, so allow me to offer a counter perspective as a resident of Seoul and someone who's met and talked with all different people in the medical tourism spectrum from translators, consultants, managers, doctors and patients.

First off - It's tough for women to live and thrive in Seoul, especially Gangnam. My Korean buddy once told me that 60% of the women between 18 -35 living in Gangnam have worked in some shape or form in adult escort / entertainment services to earn a living. From innocent Karaoke bar girl who just sings with you to full out sex for sale. And from what I know, I don't think that statistical assumption is an exaggeration. So a lot of respect to any Seoul woman who is not working in the dark world to earn a living.

It seems Zoe's primary income is from this job which she charges a $100 per day or person. If that $100 is supposed to include translating, local chaperoning, post-opp care, and playing the role of waiting room friend and emotional cheer leader. Then WOW that's the bargain of the century. It's physically and emotionally draining work. I did two consultations on my own back to back in one day, and I was drained. If you look at services like Seoul Touch Up they charge a small fortune for that kind of service.

I charge native Koreans $50 per hour to sit with me in a coffee shop and have me listen to their English and make corrections. I couldn't imagine if they pay $50 more that they get to have me for the entire day. People living in Seoul can easily spend $50 in one day (coffee, lunch, transportation, minor shopping, dinner).

If she collects a commission, I don't see anything wrong with that. In fact she should, especially if it was one of the clinics she brought you to or suggested. I went to a dermatologist once who had a refer a friend promotion where if you bring someone in for a treatment you get yours for free or discounted. If the doc is good, and I'm bringing him business, then I don't think that's a bad incentive. (Maybe she should just disclose that in the beginning, i.e. "This is my preferred clinic and I have an agreement with them")

If she mentions money then that's simply a way to keep things professional. When I tutor people, lines can get blurred between client and tutor, and they start to see me as friend who can throw in a freebie. I try to stick to my paid for time, but then things tend to get stretched out and then I end up working for free. Great for the client, but not for me, and probably not for translators like Zoe.

That's good that you got your money back from a double cancellation. It's not the norm, and was probably done as courtesy for you being a foreigner. If it was a native Korean, they would have to throw an over the top Korean drama style temper tantrum for them to get their money back.

So I consulted on Thursday and my surgery is on Saturday. I think the doctor is staying late that day so he can do my surgery. They accomodate foreign patients really well and will make sure that you can do your surgery within your time frame. And I think it's a good idea to meet with them first before paying the 10% fee because that is non-refundable. You pay on the day of surgery, and I'll be paying with KRW cash. That is the best method because they can give you a discount. As I mentioned, my surgeries went from 5.9 million KRW to 4.4 million because I booked the surgery right after my consult and will be paying in cash!

Is anyone planning on going in early 2014? By early, I mean January-March. I could fit my time around going whenever you go in that time frame, if you don't mind going together. Most people here seem to post about going within a few months, so I'm not sure if anyone here knows if they'll be going in literally a year, but I figured I'd try my luck.

Also, I live on the east coast of the USA, and I'd like to fly with someone, if possible.

Hi Virgo,
My mom and I are going in march. She is doing an EZ (new thread lift) while I'm considering to fix my eye lids ( I have big natural double eye lids but they've become droopy lately. Anyways, we are consulting with grand and regen as my mom doesn't want anything invasive and these two offer EZ lift ( apparently no incisions at all)anyways, let me know how your search has been going. Lets share information and research ;)
