twinnie
Excuse me for disturbing you again , but I have not yet figured out/decided which clinic to go for midface liposuction, masseter reduction (without touching bones) and possibly a facelift after liposuction (for sagging skin). In other words...a good clinic for face...since I have already chosen IOU for the eyes. Thanks a lot!!!
cheon
This is what I don't understand. Why would they make us pay for something we haven't fully agreed upon? We haven't even gotten a chance to talk it out in person and yet their asking us money already. It's like they're more interested in another booking than in ourselves. I'm disappointed, and I really liked JW. Or is it because their consultant had miscellaneous fees for herself as a commission?
cheon
Agree. But since this a medical procedure, code of ethics should prevail over anything else. They're all in it for the money but they should never try to coerce someone to do something in a hurry.
snowcup
It's business. The clinics set routines to maximize efficiency and profit like any other business. A deposit helps to clinch the deal and places a surgery on the books, which is important for the doctor. The doctor's time is expensive so clinics and hospitals routinely set a certain schedule that maximizes their time. Can you imagine if every doctor only scheduled their consults and their surgery time was completely unscheduled until a few days beforehand? Chaos would ensue, so yes, the emphasis is on getting known surgeries on the books. The surgeries are the moneymaker so the surgeon's time is scheduled to prioritize them. The deposit is a win-win for the clinics. But remember, you are the customer, and you have the prerogative to say "no thanks" or "not yet." pnewelljr
You have high moral expectations if you are planning on doing surgery in korea....
happypills
Yes she replied me. I asked for a consultation on 19th April and she said it was full and asked me to the surgery on 23rd April and to pay 500usd to confirm.. But I definitely do not want to do any surgery without any consultation and time to consider.... What should I do?
emisa
Hi Avagoddess, You have a great memory. I love my face shape after the cheekbone and mandible reduction. Even my 7 year old gal noticed and commented that my face is smaller without me asking. Can't speak the same for my cheek but I can't pin down the reason if its due to age (or surgery) that I have saggy cheeks. Anyway, I just came back from Korea a month ago for v3lifting and fat graft. For now, I do not like v3lifting as my face shape changed after that. I am praying hard that its all due to swelling. Cross my finger. As for nose, it can't get any more natural, but I still find the tip bulbous. I can't tell if its due to the skill of the doctor, or the thickness of my skin though. So, would like to consult more clinics for 2nd opinion before seeking revision.
happypills
Yes, I do not mind putting a deposit to secure a surgery appointment only after a consultation... Now they told me all the slots are full for consultation and they only have a slot of surgery on 23rd and asked me to put down deposit without any consultation.... This is so unethical. happypills
Hi Emisa, I heard ID has good results... How much do you paid for the rhinoplasty? I have thick tips as well....
emisa
Hi Happypills, I paid 16.5m or 16m for the entire surgery incl. cheekbone, mandible, full face fat graft and revised rhino. I can't specifically put a price to the rhino alone coz they bundled it. ID is suppose to be good. But I am not quite happy with the tip. Same time, I am worried that other clinics might make the whole nose worst. Till then, I would be crying for Dr Kim..Not sure what's the best now. My hb and some friends said its good and natural, dun do anything. But at the back of my mind, since its a rhinoplasty and not real any more, should strive for the best. Besides, my manicurist also agreed that its not sharp enough.
muppets
Hi everyone, long-time lurker but decided to join in because of the supportive community on here. I searched on the forum but still couldn't figure out how much a tip plasty and alar base reduction was supposed to cost. If I were to go to a smaller clinic does anyone know what the lowest possible price will be? I was quoted 4.4m KRW by oz, and USD9000 by VIP. I quite like OZ because Dr Park seems like a really nice person. I'd feel very bad if I were to ask him to lower his price though. Has anyone done this before? Thanks! Guest
Happypills, so the JW girl told you there's no more time slot even for consultation? That doesn't make sense really...and I don't like the fact that coordinators in other clinics gave me advises on the kind of surgeries I might need after looking at my photo, while the JW girl just kept pushing me to put down a deposit...that doesn't really help to make me choose JW! Guest
I'm really surprised that JW would pressure you for an appointment and deposit, as I have surgery scheduled with them at the end of the month and I had a great consultation with them before I decided to schedule. The only thing I can guess is did you tell them specific days you were available for surgery and are the days around April 23? If so, they are probably pretty booked for that entire week and a half. I'm going in for my surgery conveniently during "golden week", which is a 10 day holiday in Japan. When I went in for my consult, there were a number of others from Japan there, and I'm guessing they scheduled surgery during the same time. They are probably pretty booked full and maybe JW was offering their only time open trying to accomodate you before it filled up. Just my two cents. I never felt pressured by them and was actually really impressed with their service and desire to accomodate me.
xsh
Hey HKP, I went to Hyndai dept store today. Bought pineapple juice. Surprisingly, it tastes really good - sweet but its expensive though I haven't been to street markets yet. And no, I haven't met up with other members yet.
