Best Plastic Surgery Clinics in Korea -read 1st post before posting.

I am in Korea!

Consulted with Pitangui, Oz, Grand and JW. Decided on JW for now and placed a deposit. They are arranging for my surgery now. Will elaborate more about the consultations when I have the time.

By the way, any of you had problems trying to withdraw money from banks in Korea? We are having problems with Standard Chartered.

Yeah for sure, just make sure that your not cramming in this journey. I was originally thinking to go for 8-10 days. Am i ever glad i went for 2 weeks..or i wouldn't have made it.

Although, a few consultants working there told me afterwards I was really fortunate to been able to get it within 2 days time, usually that does not happen.

Originally I wasn't set on JW, i really thought I'd go with Jewelry before i left home, so I wasn't so worried about a deposit. I can see you really want to do JW though, so not to confuse you anymore, i'd say to minimize the risk go for a longer time or be prepared to change your flight. The consultant is half right, they are busy, but I believe they put international patients first since they are coming from far away, and clinics are highly competitive and refusing business is bad for business.

So this is just a summary of after care.

Day 2 : Day after surgery
- Rested most of the day but went out later that day to see a friend, was feeling pretty okay just really bunged up in the face
- Couldnt sleep very well as breathing through mouth was not nice and sleeping up right as well, which is very uncomfortable - spesh if you dont have a V-Pillow!!

Day 3 : Cotton swabs taken out
- Great coming in today as I had my cotton swabs taken out! It didn't hurt that much, actually felt nice as it was as if she was scratching the nose and there was an itch. HAHA.
Anyway, the nurse told me that for a couple days after my nose will drip randomly and to just wipe it. Yeh it dripped quite a bit. If I got up too fast my nose would drip a mixture of blood and see-through liquid stuff and yeah wasn't nice. and on top of that cos i cant blow my nose, it also dripped boogies too. NICE.
- Had my hair washed too
- Had a de-swelling treatment. They put some ointment on my bruise and then put this heat lamp thing on my face for 15minutes. Felt nice but was really bright.
- Felt fine though, I was up and about but I did rest mostly this day.

Day 4 : Chill day
Again, felt fine today, when I woke up in the morning I did feel a bit more swollen, which is normal, but after ice pack it was fine. I just went out that day. I think I went to see the a palace.

Day 5 : Stitch removal
- Had some of my eye lid stitches removed. This HURT. But not like loads was more pinching and stingy type of hurt than anything. The nurse was somewhat gentle. Was funny. I could hear her and the other nurse gossiping. I dont know what because they were speaking Korean, but judging by the tone of their voices and stuff, it was definitely gossiping!
- Had de-swelling treatment again
- No hair wash Sad times... I think I have to ask to have it done again... or maybe cos I wore a cap they thought I didn't need it? IDK.

Day 6 : Chill day - went to museum - felt great today

Day 7 : Final stitch removal and post-op with Doctors
- Remaining eye stitches were removed. This one hurt a bit more, the nurse [different from the previous one] was a bit more rough but then the previous one came back and she did my nose. That didn't hurt and she was quite thorough, checking inside my nose for all stitches. I actually felt sorry for her at one point cos it must be gross having to do that.
Again, she said my nose will drip a bit afterwards and to just wipe it. Honestly though, it only dripped once that night again. After that the only dripping was boogies I couldn't sneeze out
She also took off my bandages around my nose and I finally saw my nose. and i was HAPPY!!! I was literally smiling eye to eye. My eyes not so much, because they were so swollen still i was a bit shocked a how big they were lol
- Had de-swelling treatment again
- Dr Suh came in first when I had my stitches and bandages removed. He felt my nose and put pressure on it [which hurt quite a bit] and said it was good. Very straight and small. He said no laughing big for a month and no glasses for a month too sad times. He then said there is a lot of bruising because of the bone surgery, and it should go down in time. I had a massive bruise under my eye, looked like someone punched me LOL. But he seemed pleased and shook my hand then when he left.
- Dr Choi was still in surgery, so I had to go up to see him. He evaluated my eyes and said they are still very swollen but they should turn out big and round anyway. No contacts for a week after that point too.. so for a week i was blind... but yeah he smiled then and patted me on my back.. pretty awkward but whatever haha.

After all that then Yumi then said she had a gift for me, basically, they arranged for us to have a private car take us back to the airport. It was nice of them but I think they do it for their international patients? But yeah, meant we have a bit of money left over to have more food.
I felt bad for using a translator and in hindsight, totally did not need one as I ended up with JW and my friend with Teuim, both of which had english speaking staff, and sometimes I feel if I went with JW only i could have gotten a better deal etc, but then I think it was lucky I got Dr Suh and Dr Choi and i might not have got them if I done them myself cos it was luck that they had a cancellation anyway which meant i could take the spot...

But overall, JW was really nice. SOme of the staff are a bit questionable, but Yumi was really nice, like beyond and Dr Suh and Dr Choi, are really good doctors.
They are expanding and starting to get more international patients too, which means they may get more expensive - who knows - but i would recommend them - but only if you have Dr Suh or Dr Choi, as if you remember from my previous post, the other doctor i wasn't so keen on!!

Also, I paid cash and they waivered the 10% and also if you go with a friend they do better deal... but only if you go with a friend and if the friend books it too. they gave me and my friend a better deal if we were to do it together but when she decided not to then gave me the original price, which wasn't great, but i think that co-ordinator [not yum] wasn't very nice. don't know her name but she seemed a right ol ... female dog...


So i 3 and half weeks post op now. The picture below is 2-weeks post op though. Only side view though.

hey thanks for the detailed review your results so far look great, your side profile has improved a 100 percent. how is your front profile so far? has your tip changed by a lot in terms of refinement and how bulbous the tip was before? I would love to see pics of your front profile as well if your willing to share

Typically you mostly stay overnight if your surgery is very intense or occurs in the late afternoon early evening. My GF's friend had mandible reduction (v-line) and cheekbone augmentation. Her surgery was at 4 PM this past Monday, so she stayed overnight at the clinic for observation. She's back at our place recovering, and by the next day she was OK to surf the web, but is pretty much a homebody over the next week and half until she goes back to Busan. To keep her from being bored death my GF keeps her semi busy by working on puzzles with her, and they watch this drama called "That Winter, The Wind Blows"

BTW does anybody watch it? I couldn't stand it at first and my GF kept kicking me out of the living room because I'm always cracking up and making jokes, but now I'm actually hooked on it. Those shows can be addictive.

LOL haha my two sisters and my best friend are currently HOOKED on that show (That Winter, The Wind Blows) The lead Jo in Sung is pretty hot lol. Every week they're anxiously waiting for a new episode to be put up by dramafever. I am waiting till all the episodes are up on the site, cuz I hate waiting every week just for one episode. Better to just watch it all in a span of 3 days haha. Be careful korean dramas are rlly addictive.

No, I had booked a consultation first over email. I dont think walking in would work, they were really busy!

My Kakao ID is Nanxy888, when you contact me please send me a message with your purse forum user name as I am being cautious who to add to the group, don't want any clinic 'spies 'to slip through. It's really busy on there.

Last year I flew with Korean Airlines and this year I will be flying with KLM.

If you are thinking of going to a festival 4 weeks after surgery be careful no one knocks into your nose, I went to a festival 6 weeks after surgery and was so scared someone would catch me with their elbow when we were all jumping up and down, I think if that did happen my silicone and tip would have deviated. It takes a full year for your nose to 100% recover from surgery, I am 9 months post op and can still see and feel swelling inside my nose.

I have looked at IP Boutique and it looks really nice but it's quite prices asI am going for 3 weeks so maybe stay there in my last week. Can you tell me how far the hotel is from the nearest metro and is there a particular side of the hotel that is better, I mean which side is sunny as I hate dark rooms and which side faces the main road as it could be loud?

Yes it's quite pricey so I think you can just stay there for the last few nights so as to enjoy itaewon... I think the train station is about 8 mins away from the hotel. Along the way its lined with a lot of restaurants and cafes.. there's a lot of foreign restaurants like Thai food etc there. I stayed at the room facing the main road and I think it was okay. Not noisy and not very dark.. you can request for a higher floor. the downside is the dim walkway from your lift to your room, no idea why they didn't install any lights there. Overall I enjoyed my stay there, would like to stay there again if not for it is far from the clinics...

usually i will cab from ip to most of the places as it cost quite cheap and I have friends to share.. to myeongdong if I'm not wrong cost only like 4500 won.. its good to take a cab if you are going with your friends.. easier and cheaper.

I've kept wavering on whether to go ahead and proceed with double eyelid surgery for years and have been doing so these past few days and have finally booked my flight for April 17 to April 26 and reserved an Airbnb place!

I think I may do that and will be cheaper maybe if I book it when I am there or just walk in reception and enquire. I like the hotel you have chosen this year too so I may stay there for some of the time also. Which district was your favourite, I liked myeongdong for the shopping but it's crazy, so many people! Yes last year we used the taxis a lot but not he black taxis they are VIP and more than double the price! I do like travelling by metro as we don't have a good one in the UK. If there are any other hotels you can recommend can you kakao me thanks!

It's better that you book it through websites like booking.com, agoda etc when you wanna check in that day... It's always cheaper than walk-in

yeah that is what the inhouse translator told my friend when she was discussing my surgery.
but like the other poster said, they do prioritize international patients as well, especially if you do really want it done there. As business is business. if you dont show interest they are probably less likely to do something but if you show an interest, they might re-arrange appointments?
