What are you having done Faithhope? It's exciting you are going soon! Yes, I did use Zoe and I am very glad I did. It is much less of the translation services that I got the most value, but it's more around having a support system, having a friend and someone that cares and knows. If you are going for Dr. Kim, you dont really need a translator. He speaks really good English - but like I said, I am very glad I had Zoe. Her friend Tony also helps out and they turned out to be close buddies to me now. In fact, Tony saw my broken Iphone case and gave me a new case! Especially if you are going alone, having Zoe will be great.

I like Dr. Kim a lot - in fact, better than Dr. Park. I feel that Dr. Kim is very precise and detailed oriented, but he is also candidly honest. He doesnt seem to sugarcoat the procedure or the healing process. I like that! However, be aware - he has an eye of a hawk and he will tell you alot of things that's not right about your face/ (or whatever you consult him on) - but that's because you asked for his expert opinion and he has a great level of precision. Just know that the end decision is yours to make. You can go back to my post a few pages back about my consult with him on eyes and nose, and I ended up skipping my nose procedure.

I personally think that ID has great integrity and very good post-op care (if you are doing facial contouring - not sure about others). I.e. they insisted that I take off my belly ring before the surgery. As I was on panick attack at that time, I couldnt remove my belly ring, and they told me that they will have to saw it off before the surgery. On the other hand, my roommate who had her surgery at JW went ahead without removal of her belly ring. The bad thing about ID is their lack of responsiveness to e-mail and the wait for consultation is usually pretty long (can be a few hours before you get to see the Dr.)

It was very hard to bargain with ID - I only manage to knock off 1M off a 13M procedure and that was after a long a$$ haggle. they are trying to use a one price policy now. I did double eyelid, fake ptosis correction and mini V for a total of $8M. It's not 13M because I ended up backing out of the nose job the day before the surgery.

Thanks so much MiaAnn for taking the time to write back! I am planning to do double eyelid, lateral canthoplasty, buccal fat removal, chin implant and underchin lipo. Lots of work...lol.
I am actually going with a gf and she can speak Korean, but I decided last min. to hire Zoe just to make things easier and luckily she's available. I am glad you like Dr. Kim as I'm not sure I who I will being seeing at ID so this info. helps a lot. Your eyes look great btw!!!
Oh, and JW just got back to me with their quotes, but I've shortlisted 5 clinics down to 3 and JW is out. How did your friend like her eyes?

Looks like the person who answered your email might not speak english very well, so really kept it to the bare minimum. It can be frustrating, but I actually expected not to hear back from them being that this is peak season and joanne who has been answering my emails is probably swamped with consultations. I think she may be the only one there who speaks english well enough.
O gosh, I hope you don't have super urgent questions because they might not get answered until after you get there. Or maybe try sending it again. Good luck

O I am starting to understand what the 4mm you were referring to about a little better now. My impression of 2-jaw was they moved your jaw back or forward, so I thought he moved your jaw 4 mm, but it sounds like they took 4mm off your chin.
Are you able to speak Korean or do you think something got lost in translation? Did you use a translator?
Aside from that, how is recovery/swelling going? What are you eating? Are you doing anything to pass time? Have you met up with any forumers? Maybe they can give you an unbiased opinion. Sometimes we are our own worst critics.

Thanks for the laugh! Seeing your swelling and imagining you trying to tell others you had nothing done, made me crack up! I can so see myself doing something like that.
Your post op though looks really good and it doesn't look like you even have any makeup on.
Omg, n thanks, i would totally appreciate seeing your 3 week post op cuz that's about how much time I have before I go back to work. I m going to guess that my students won't listen to one bit of my lecture, but instead will be staring at my lids. Lol

Back for another update! This marks my 7th day or one week post-op The swelling is being persistent but today is the real day I noticed it's presentable. For those of you keeping track, I had rib cart rhino and sill incisions for my alar (+tip suturing) and so far, I am quite pleased.

My splint was taken off permanently the 5th day and before the doc retaped my nose I had already gotten to see the much-anticipated unveiling It's funn because from the thousands of pages I have read and I have read each and every page of every asian nj forum we have here on Tpf, I was expecting MAJOR swelling and for my tip to look like a complete blob of meat before it settles down from what people say could take 3-6-a year even to see final refinement and results. However this is not the case for me. I see and continue to see major bridge augment and great projection already, so much so that if anything, I worry about my nose possibly being too thin or pinched if ever but looking at the nostrils, mines are still rounded and maintains a very natural curve that I don't think could end up like so hopefully

Another Big thing I've noticed with my own rib cart rhino that contradicts all I've read from other memebers whose done the same procedure issss...*pauses for suspense* Its NOT rock hard!!!! Yes that's right! I' kind of in shock actually, but nonetheless, another great thing. I can move my tip side to side (being gentle now ofc seeing as it's still healing) and the bridge feels very natural if I might say myself I will let you know how this pans out as I know a lot of you mentioning rib and some even end up deciding against it for this fact alone so guess this is pretty important to some of you. To be honest, I never worried much about the rock hard nose to begin with but to my luck, wasn't worth a worry seems like!

Other than that, progress is to be made on swelling and I'm taking it as each days takes me on this journey!

Hi everyone,

I want to get rhinoplasty done in Korea within the next few months, because it's a lot cheaper than here in the states, and the doctors are more experienced with Asian noses such as mine. The only thing is.. after looking through many clinics and their rhino B&A's, I've noticed most (if not all) of the noses afterward look straight.
I have a pretty flat nose that I want elevated and a bulbous tip that I want redefined, but other than that, I actually like my slight nose hump and I want to keep it. I feel like it would make a nose job look more natural too. Not that straight noses don't look attractive or natural, it just isn't the look I'm going for. My desired nose would probably look like the attached photos. EDIT: Sorry they're so big! >.<


Does anyone know if it's possible to keep your nose hump with nose surgery? The answer is probably no, but it's worth asking!

They called me on my cellphone. This is the number which they used to call me +82 70 4128 7667.

Since I have locked in a consultation date which her, I also asked if I am able to do the surgery immediately after the consultation. However they require a deposit of $100 to secure a slot for my surgery if I want to book it now. I am still not sure whether to just go for 1 consultation at a hospital or maybe I should visit a few more.... But anyway I am only doing double eyelid surgery.

For those who are new, it is best to read the entire 1st forum in case I missed something. This really is just a reference sheet that I made because I kept forgetting where i had read something. But also, in case when I go for my consults, the doctor recommends another surgical procedure that I wasn't expecting, I can reference people who have posted info on it. Oopz, sorry forget to mention most of the prices I got for Epi is provided its done together with double eyelid/ptosis correction.
Guess its cheaper since they are already numbing that area.
