Best Plastic Surgery Clinics in Korea -read 1st post before posting.

Recommended Posts

Hello all
I'm new here
I have been quoted by a Korean plastic surgeon
the cost of rhinoplasty(hump nose correction) + alar plasty + tip plasty is roughly 5.5~6.5 million korean won.
Is this the normal price for a nose job in Korea?
And does anyone have experience with plastic surgery in Brazil?
plastic surgery in Korea compared to Brazil?
Thanks.

if it includes bone surgery then it's a normal price or a little higher~ there are always clinics that charge more as long as there are people who pay more but you should not pay more than that i think 6M is already a lot~ and of course nose job is done by a nose specialist who else...

Hi Vian,
I'm new to this blog so I don't know if I can send you the pics directly. While I'm happy to share my experience and answer your questions, I'm not so comfortable sharing pics of myself with the world. So I'll check into the pics after I'm done answering your questions.

I had a silicone implant for the bridge of my nose and had cartilage removed from my ear for the tip of my nose using an open incision. I chose silicone for the bridge vs. using an autologous graft. Of course there is nothing better than using your own body part to eliminate the risk of rejection and reduce the risk of infection (with every surgery, there is always a risk of infection), but there will be some resorption with an autologous graft over time and it's impossible to predict exactly how much. Therefore, you will get a more predictable outcome with silicone as it is synthetic and cannot be resorbed by your body. So not only will it not change over the years, but it will give you a more defined and "sleeker" look.

I can honestly say that the entire procedure was pain-free. At worst, it was just uncomfortable for the first few days as you have gauze up your nose, have to breathe through your mouth, and sleep sitting up to prevent swelling. But there was no pain. I experienced numbness at the tip of my nose (I was told it would take a few months to get all feeling back) and now I would say I'm 95% back to normal.

I've seen many photos of others who have had rhinoplasty and they look like they were in a car accident and got punched in the face so I was expecting to be black and blue. Like I said, I had ZERO bruising and minimal swelling which was really surprising. I know this is a reflection of Dr. Kim's excellent surgical skills. The more a surgeon is manipulating your tissues and the longer he's doing it, he's causing trauma to your tissues and causing blood to pool into the area (hence the bruise). A skilled surgeon will be as minimally invasive as he can, do his thing, and close you up fast.

I have a light and barely noticeable scar on the base of my nose between the nostrils which nobody can see and is easily hidden with makeup. It's only been 3 months and the scar is disappearing with time. It's so mild at this point, that this is not even an issue for me.

Anyway, I hope this helps.

Hi
I have visited face line many times when I was in seoul . It seems
quite good as there are always busy , lots of local customers.

However I had listened to translator Anita's employee and had my
surgery done in REX finally .

This is the third week after my surgery, my eyelids look uneven,
asymmetry . from the x rays I took B&A, my cheekbone
Hasn't been reduced but left two broken cheekbone arches.

has anyone had the same experience ? have your eyelids turned
normal eventually? any ideas about the broken cheekbone arches?
Many thanks

Hi

I am travelling to Seoul Korea for plastic surgery in December. I am quite naive to all this. I am looking to do a rhinoplasty with bulbous reduction/nose extension/higher nose bridge. I am also looking at ways to slim my face but all the Drs have recommended acculift? or liposcution of the face? I have read so many reviews on real self.com and the drs on there really recommend against any form of fat removal from the face.

So far I have looked at ID hospital, BK (of course), OZ, Banobagi and Grand. All of these offer cheaper accomodation with hotels close by but of course I have to book through their clinic to get the discount. However, I would feel more comfortable going in to each clinic for a consult before committing to any.

My questions are:
1. Has anyone had the above mentioned surgeries before? What were the results?
2. How do I know which clinic to go for??
3. Any recommended hotels?

Thanks in advance

ps I will do a review on each of those clinics that I visit to inform other members

You're welcome Yuqin0708.

To everyone out there: This thread is very useful for people to discuss plastic surgery procedures and to bring people together. That said, I think the title of this thread is misleading, if not blatantly wrong. The focus shouldn't be on the "Best Plastic Surgery Clinics in Korea" but rather the "Best Plastic Surgeons in Korea" and listed specifically for different procedures.

Many of you are approaching your search in the wrong way. You shouldn't start with asking "Which clinic is good?", you should start with asking "Which surgeon is good for rhinoplasty, double eye lift, whatever procedure..?". Here's why:

Plastic Surgery Clinics are organizations....and in every organization, there are people who are great at what they do AND there are people who suck at what they do. Think about your school experience: I'm sure you had a few great teachers, some mediocre teachers, and also some really bad teachers. If you choose to have your plastic surgery based on the clinic, you're walking in blind and taking a bet on whoever is available for your consultation. Do you really want to risk your face/body/life by taking the chance that you end up with one of the good surgeons?

This is why there is so much confusion on this thread about "where to go" because there is such mixed reviews. I'm sure all these clinics have great surgeons...but they also have bad ones too which is the reason why it's confusing/scary because you read how one person had a great outcome and then read about how another person's surgery has ruined her life and that it was done at the very same clinic! So the question isn't "WHERE do I go for my procedure?" but rather "WHO should I go to for my procedure?".

This is YOUR face/body/life. Do your research and THINK about how you are making your decision. "The Clinic" is not going to cut you open. The Surgeon is. So be smart about it and find the surgeon who has an excellent reputation for whatever procedure you're looking to have done and ask all the right questions.

Hi Vian,

I was worried about scarring too, but now that I see where the incision was made, how small it is, and how light it is (and it's still healing), it's really a non-issue. This should be the least of your concerns. Your biggest concern should be finding the right surgeon.

Glad you're inquiring about a consultation with Dr. Kim at April 31 Plastic Surgery Clinic. Like I said, he's awesome and so is his staff. I'm sure they will make you feel comfortable and address your questions/concerns. The key is to be prepared with all your questions and to communicate EXACTLY what you want your nose to look like (bring pictures!). I brought pictures and wrote down exactly what I wanted (and didn't want!) in the end result.

As for the price, I honestly can't give you an accurate quote (but I do recall it was reasonable) because the cost was bundled with other procedures that my mom had done there. I was fortunate that I went with my mother. I stayed in Seoul for 3 weeks. My advice to you is to stay for a minimum of two weeks - three if possible.

What impressed me about my experience with Dr. Kim and April 31 is that they were very thorough and great about post-operative care. Most clinics only care about getting your payment and booked into surgery and then they move onto the next new patient. But not at April 31st - they were really sweet and wanted me to come in as often as possible to make sure I was healing properly and progressing well. They put as much attention on the post-care as they did for the surgery. The service was truly was exceptional.

Yes, you should have someone accompany you or at least take care of you for the first 24-48 hours, especially to help with the ice packs...if not also for emotional support. Good luck!
