I just want to clarify something as I think some of the forumer made a wrong assumption about me going to JW Clinic for nose surgery under DR Suh. I did went to JW clinic in June this year but not for nose surgery .End of the day I didn't get any surgery done because DR Lee, the anesthesia doctor made a mistake and failed to find my airway and almost got me killed . All the doctors were panicked and they slit my throat during the emergency situation. After 6 months I still have scar on my neck . For those who decided to go to JW for major operation and required general anesthesia, please think twice because if DR lee is still JW's main anesthesia doctor. There is a chance you will be ended up like me the unfortunate one. Although she claimed that she has more than 20 years of experience but she has proven herself that she is not skillful or knowledgeable enough to handle various cases. And for your information JW clinic did not do a good job in preparing the customer before the operation eg the anesthesia doctor is not wearing her uniform and cap. So think again before you choose JW clinic, their doctors might be skillful and popular unfortunately they have a unskillful team of anesthesia doctors.

I’ve read many stories about procedures that have gone wrong at other clinics that I almost did not have surgery at all because of the mix reviews. Not to mention the fact that they were so patient and willing to work with the money transaction. Tomorrow I will be paying them half by cash and the other half card, because of some banking issues, and they still gave me the discount, even though they will be charged 10% of tax for the card portion of the transaction. Although I have not seen my nose completely, I’m really impressed with the stitch work in between my nostrils. This was a major concern for me during the consultation because I have a skin condition called keloid, and felt very uncomfortable about having open surgery, but Dr. Chung reassured me that he’s work with keloid patients before and never once out of his 16 years of practice had a failed operation, he even added that if anything were to go wrong with my nose or eyes, he would do free revision, but most importantly he gave me his word that all will go smoothly and it has. Hi, I was reading about your Experience and I'm highly interested...just to clarify, who exactly is Anita and does she run a service that provide translators to foreigners that visits Korea? I am looking around Beverly Hills California for a rhinoplasty surgeon but I would like to consider in Korea as well.

Hi im going to korea in few months time for ptosis correction and full face fat grafting and V lift. Can anyone recommend best doctor for full face grafting (with highest Survival Rate) and V lift, also need a suggestion for a good translator too. I am post-op day 5 on rhinoplasty, bridge augmentation, osteotomy for septal deviation, and tiplasty with septal cartilage. I am a male and this was my first surgery. I did my surgery with Dr. Hwang at Hyundai Medical Aesthetic clinic.

1. Hyundai: very nice and clean clinic. Same building as Pitangui. The consultant spoke some English, but I had my own translator. I hired Anita's service and my translators, Yoon and Jason, have been the best people to work with. Dr. Hwang was very professional and patient. He immediately made me feel comfortable and asked me what I wanted. He also touched my face and nose (some doctors did not do this). The consultant and staff also made me feel very welcomed. They asked about me, my goals for surgery, and assured me that Dr. Hwang was the best in the business. My translator also said that Dr. Hwang was one of the best for rhinoplasty. He used to work at ID, Regen, and BK before opening up his own clinic. There are 3 other doctors in the clinic as well. Dr. Hwang has lots of experience with male rhino, which was an important aspect for me as male and female noses are different aesthetics. *there was a famous Thai actor getting surgery done the same day I was there

2. Rex: this was my second choice clinic. Dr. Chung spoke English very well. We didn't even need the interpreters. He was a nice man and said he would deliver what I wanted. I did not like the consultant though. She kept trying to upsell me on other procedures and even told me that I looked old for my age! LOL. Rex is a small clinic with only one doctor.

3. JW: this clinic was quite busy. The staff were all running around looking flustered. There were a lot of people in the waiting room as well. The staff looked very pretty and natural. This is the aethestic of JW, "natural beauty". I consulted with Dr. Sung Hoon. Very nice man. He spoke English. He told me I didn't need osteotomy for my septal deviation, which he was the only one to say so. Even doctors I've consulted in America said I needed osteotomy. Dr. Hoon also mentioned that he would make my nose look "natural". I wanted a high bridge and he said no. I was also unsure of his experience with male noses as most of his pictures were of female noses. This was the only clinic that took photos of my nose.

4. Pitangui: this was a very fancy clinic. There was a white grand piano in the lobby! The consultant spoke English, but the doctor did not. I consulted with Dr. Cho. Maybe he was tired, but he did not seem interested in what I had to say. He told me what he would do for me and that was it. He never even touched my face. The consultant said that he was very good at noses, but I just didn't get a good feeling from him. The clinic is very pretty though and the staff were really nice.

5. Jewelry: I did not choose this clinic. My translator thought that I should check them out because they were supposedly good with noses. Upon entering, I immediately noticed that all the staff looked alike: big eyes, big foreheads, slim noses, v-line faces, and super skinny. It was like they came out of a factory. They also seem to not be able to smile. I thought that was pretty funny. The consultant made me wait almost 40mins after my appointment time before I could speak with the doctor. Apparently he was "busy". I consulted with Dr. Park. He seemed very nervous throughout the interview. He was fidgety and sweating. He also wanted to use ear cartilage and not septal. Even after I told him that I did not want to do ear cartilage, he said that he only uses ear cartilage. After that I decided to cross Jewelry off my list. However, if you like the "Gangnam" style look, then Jewelry is the place for you. Even though they looked alike, the staff were very pretty.

So far I'm pretty happy with my surgery. I'm still a bit swollen and bruised around the eyes and cheeks, but it's getting better. The prices for my type of rhino ranged from 4mil to 7mil. I paid with credit card so my costs were 10% higher than normal as well. I prefer to pay in credit card because I get mileage points for using it. (so i get more than 10% back in airfare anyway)

My advice would be to come to Seoul and visit the clinics and doctors. Do your research, know what you want, and take the advice from other forumers with a grain of salt. Everyone has their own needs and wants and not every clinic will appeal to you in the same way. I hope this helps some of you in your surgery journeys. Good luck!

Just a question regarding translation service- did you have them contact the clinics to schedule appointments before flying to Seoul? Or you contacted the offices yourself? I have no idea where to begin if I'm considering nose surgery in Korea!

hello. my translator told me that they do not get commission, but i found this hard to believe. i do think that she gets a commission and i'm sure i was charged more for it. there is a difference between local korean pricing and foreigner pricing, with foreigners getting charged more. what my translator got from my surgery, i do not know.
however for me, it was worth using a translator because i do not speak korean and cannot read korean language. the consent forms were all in korean as well as the medications and post-op instructions. my translator helped me with all of that as well as provided transportation to the clinic and airport. she also booked all my appointments for me.
i would have gladly paid the commission to my translator for the services they provided regardless.
also my pricing was higher because i used a credit card.
In the end though, you can still bargain down the price to where you are comfortable paying.

i'm very satisfied with my results so far. i have received only positive comments about my new nose.

ps. i used Anita's translation services. she has multiple translators working for her, so she might not be the one you actually work with. her email is [email protected].
also note that there are only a few translation companies that are registered with the korean government, Anita and Seoul Touch up are the two that I know of. Seoul touch up is a lot more expensive though.

Hasnt heard from TLPS, they really doesnt have any english speaker there..SIGHH
Anyway TLPS before/after gallery (posted by the community) is pretty impressive, I think they have this Power V surgery which is kind of 'lifting' (no bone moved etc only skin) and the locals who did it really have major change!

Anyw, I'm keeping my options open now, still have my lipo clinic as the priority ><
Samsung PS attracts me too , it has better integration for foreigners and from that naver cafe, quite a number of local went there too xD !
Theres two samsung clinic the ksamsung gangnam and samsung line , but from previous Marir's research most of them go for ksamsung..?

Most likely, I will stick with my lipo clinic and go for TLPS for their non invasive V surgery...Gonna see how it goes hopefully they get back to me or something

Is the best way to contact the clinics is just to email in your photos along with photos of the desired results? And ask for a quote along with it?

hii all, im a new member to these forums but ive been stalking for a little while now....
im contemplating two jaw surgery (in the early stages) can anyone recommend a good hospital? I've only heard of ID (which quoted me 17million won) as well as grand but i dont have any prices or anything I cant do the surgery in my home country because its quite expensive and is not covered AT ALL by insurance
