The clinic itself is pretty small but the receptionists are pretty helpful (both Chinese and English)
When I arrived at the clinic (i booked an appointment for a morning consultation for mandible reduction+double eyelid surgery with Dr Kim followed by the surgery in the afternoon) i had to do a blood test followed by an Xray for my jaw, then Dr Kim gave me his recommendations for the mandible surgery based on the Xray. As you know, wide mandible might not be a bone problem and might just be huge muscles (in which case botox would suffice) but the Xray showed that my mandible angle was prominent and i had a pretty bad face asymmetry problem. Second, Dr Kim strongly recommended chin lengthening using the bone removed from my mandible (after reading the forum today i realized its the same procedure as what indo28 did at Regen!) as he felt my chin was short and lengthening it would give a nice v-line. i was really hesitant on this because 1) i am saving up for a rhinoplasty this June and don't want to spend too much money 2) i admit that my chin is a little short although its normal but i wasn't considering any procedure for my chin at all. So at first after the receptionist quoted me an extra ~3 million won for the chin lengthening i told her i think its fine, i will just do mandible angle because i didn't bring enough money, then she came back shortly afterwards to tell me that the doctor is willing to give me a discount just because he thinks the chin lengthening would look nice with my mandible reduction. So i conceded and paid extra 2070000 won for it in the end.

All in all i chose item clinic because i think it gives good value for money (~4000000 won for mandible reduction, ~1400000won for partial incision double eyelid, plus the chin lengthening), but like all plastic surgery clinics, you have to be very specific in knowing what you want and not be swayed into doing multiple procedures once you're there. Also because I went for their consultation in Singapore a few years back and was pretty impressed by the Doctor (Dr Chung) who specialises in double eyelid surgery and subsequently did my double eyelids on Monday. The Singapore coordinator, Elaine Jung, has also been of much help as I had a lot to ask her about the clinic before i went to Korea.

Two negative points I can think of right now is that you hardly get to meet the doctor after the surgery (met him once the day after for literally a minute, and Dr. Kim smiled and said my surgery went well, and left abruptly) and the next time i see him will be seven days post op which is next Monday. Second point is, i'm not sure if its a Korean thing in general but some of the nurses are pretty rough like men, even those who look gentle but i have a feeling its just how Korean nurses are like lol.
I think if you're looking for a drastic change, item clinic may not be for you because from what I observe all their patients are looking for natural results and those who are looking for more drastic results would go to places like Smallface, etc. however I was just looking for a natural change (to make my square jaw look more feminine and double eyelids) so i feel like i've chosen the right clinic.

The first two days after the operation was rough as my face was swollen like a balloon and I had a massive sore throat from being partially sick and from the general anaesthesia but there was a nurse assigned to take care of me all through the night up till the afternoon of the following day. It really isn't painful unless you're afraid of injections. then yeah just the injections but otherwise my face didn't hurt at all besides a dull ache when I pressed down on my jaw bone and the huge headache i got after waking up from the g.a.

Another reason why I feel item's doctors (at least, Doctor Kim who specialises in face and Doctor Chung
in eyes) are professional is because my recovery has been swift so far and i regained full sensation in my chin and jaw just about 3 hours after surgery (chin slightly slower than jaw), and i saw my friend who did her double eyelids elsewhere and during the downtime it was red and swollen but mine were just slightly swollen and not very reddish, so i'm thankful for that. The chipmunk look is gradually subsiding and now it looks a lot better already even though its day 5, i can enunciate properly although my mouth makes a weird shape because of the tight bandage wrapped around my jaw (to be removed on monday!) and eat semi-solid food (even though you're advised not to until the second week so i'm trying to resist!) I can also brush my teeth gently and can stick 3 fingers into my mouth without difficulty hoping for more improvements over the next few days!

its easy to get depressed because I'm only 19 and came here alone for 10 days to get this done and when I look at myself in the mirror looking like a chipmunk i question if it was money well spent, if i'd even look better or just different, etc...i find myself in a weird existential crisis mode when i'm not doing anything so i try to keep busy so the time will pass faster.

other insecurites include staring at my bandaged chin and wondering if 4mm is too much (right now my face has a nice smooth U shape but Im still waiting to see after the bandages are removed) or if my double eyelids are too high but thats just me thinking too much again.

Now i'm just in the hotel doing some work and hoping for the best for the next few days

I emailed TLPS, and it took a while for them to get back.. But the lady was very apologetic and seemed friendly (They all do tho.... Haha..to get you to go to their clinic? Idk) Did you send a photo of yourself? I didn't and she requested one, to get a 'more accurate quote'.... I haven't yet, cause I've been pretty busy with studying but I plan to on the weekend. Good luck.... I'll post my quote once I get one from them for V line / Square jaw reduction and cheekbone

Hi everyone, just got back from korea for revision rhino with O&Young. Was there for 16 days from jan22-feb07. I've posted on asian nose job 3 and thought I'd post here as well since i've gotten so much from reading this thread too. So here goes...

First here are my nose issues:
1. Scar tissues, asymmetric nostrils, deviated columella. All these due to infection and silicon extrusion.
2. Hypertrophic and pitted scars, on the sides of my alar from previous alarplasty.
3. Warping of ear cartilage for bridge augmentation

I consulted with 3 clinics. VIP, SHIMMIAN and O & YOUNG

Consultations at shimmian n o&young felt hurried n the doctors seemed non committal in listening or answering prospective patients. I was bitterly disappointed. I can understand the clinics are busy bu still... Of the 3 tho, I felt VIP gave the most comprehensive consultation( idk if its bcoz it's the least busy at the time).

When it came to price negotiations, few things i learnt, clinics jack up their prices ridiculously high, are really tight-fisted and don't let up easily. but when they do, you'll be surprised how drastic the prices go down. Also, consultants can be pushy n bent on getting you to put down a deposit. They'll say plenty crap like without deposit yr surgery date is sketchy blah blah blah. Word of advice, stand firm and DON'T give in to the pressure unless yr positive yr having surgery with em.

I decided to go for o&young cuz it's the only clinic that offered stem cell treatment in conjunction with revision rhino for "problem" nose like mine. And the results on their B&As speak volumes. But it's also the most expensive for rhino.

besides revision rhino using autologous rib, I had stem cell treatment (on my nose) and fat transfer to forehead and cheeks. Costs:
- revision rhino using autologous rib = 11,000,000won
- stem cell treatment = 3,900,000 won
- fat transfer = 1,500,000 won

On stem cell treatment, a total of 16shots were administered to my nose. Twice a day.
On fat transfer, fat from my thigh was used. they said thigh fats are better than the fats from other areas. (had fat graft surgery on jan25)Till today, my thighs are still sore and bruised.

Today am at 12days rhino post op, had surgery on jan29, am about 85% satisfied. The 15% was cuz I feel my bridge could be made higher. But other than that and as yet, am plenty happy with the results. I can see drastic improvements on my nose. Though nostrils r still asymmetric they're improved, columella is straighter n no more ridges on my bridge. Hypertrophic scars on alar...doc couldn't do anything bout em.

IMO, dr oh of o&young is a skilled and aesthetically sensitive surgeon and I highly recommend him albeit plenty pricey. Still, I love you dr oh, thank you for the improvements you made to my nose.

Accommodation wise, I stayed at highland hotel all 16days. Standard room w/ Double bed is 66,000. Superior room w/ twin/double bed is 77,000. This hotel is good enough IMO. its clean. but can get noisy depending on room position. Ask for rooms away from elevator. its also very convenient. Plenty eateries, convenience stores behind and around it. Stones throw away to Apgujeong plastic surgery street. I even walk to o&young everyday from here.

I hope these informations can be helpful in anyway.

@cinch87 A forumer has previously post a negative exp with Dr Park in OZ for eyelid. But from my knowledge it's not that he's bad, just that he's the specialists in a different area - calf reduction surgery (prob the best in the world). His result for cheekbone reduction is satisfying too from Cozycot forumers' feedbacks. U should find specialists in the most complicated procedure you want to get done.

2 months and 1 week post op

2 jaw, v Line, cheekbone reduction

Hey guys I'm back with another update, sorry it took me so long but I got caught up with things so let's start from the same day I got back to the United states. People were looking at me like I was an alien (people I knew because according to them I was Swollen). I was told that I look like I lost a fight and that I had botox.my smiLe was tight and it was unpleasant for me.

I also didn't get my wisdom teeth pulled until a week ago, I had to because I was still chewing my cheeks and that was the reason why I was soo swollen. The oral surgeon that pulled my teeth was great and he told me that the doctor that did my 2 jaw did a great job (Great job everm). I saw this same oral surgeon a week after he pulled my teeth and according to him the swelling went down significantly, so guys before 2 jaw ask the doc how your wisdom teeth will affect you aftetward.

At my second visit with the surgeon, I told him my concerns about my big lips because at this point they are back to their original size (my nose also). He does 2 jaw surgery also so h e told me that bone tissue heals faster than soft tissue so my lips will ta k e longer for the swelling to go diwn (it can take as long as 6 months). He guaranteed that my lips will get smaller though so I will wait.

Fast forward to now, my face is significantly smaller (and shou l dc be shrinking more), I'm told that I look like my old self now just with a smaller face. I can feel my cheeks and the side of my face. I can feel the right side of my chin but the left is still swollen. Feeling in the area between my nose and lips is back and it's also back in my lips.

My lips feel so weird though but this is normal. The nerves are healing so I feel like I have Lil electrical stings in my lips and they feel like they are constantly dry (it's such a b****).I have to reapply lip gloss every 5 minutes and no I'm not over exaggerating.

So that seems to be everything so far. I still do not have braces so I am shopping around
